It all just kinda happened.
Miles and Gwen were hanging out in Miles' dimension when an anomaly suddenly appeared, it was a, sketchy? looking version of the green goblin, though, he looked nothing like that renaissance vulture she fought a year ago, dude looked straight out of a sketchbook.
Like every variation of green goblin, he was, harsh, to say the least.
It took them the moment he appeared (mid-day) till night to finally capture him and kinda just.. guess where came from.
Maybe its not the best move but hey, the local spider of the dimension they sent him to will probably know where he's from, hopefully.
The duo was absolutely battered, who would've thought the paper variant of green goblin would have extremely dangerous pumpkin bombs? let's not even talk about those blades on them too, guess paper CAN be dangerous.
It was summer so Miles' mom and dad decided to take a little bit of a break and spend their free week over at Queens, sure it wasn't that far from Brooklyn but you gotta keep in mind that they love to helicopter parent their son, especially since they now know he's spider-man.
But this meant that they at least had the house to themselves AND they didn't have to hear his parents bicker him about how dangerous that was.
Miles, being the gentleman that he is, patched Gwen up first and then himself, before talking about where either of them are gonna sleep for the night, he made some cheese sandwiches for them along side a glass of water accompanied by a painkiller so at least they'd be able to move in their sleep without suddenly waking up in pain, and so they wouldn't sleep on an empty stomach, after a fight like that? they felt like the ycould swallow days worth of his mom's food.
After they finished their "dinner" they talked for a bit where they were gonna sleep, and, probably due to the still pumping adrenaline, they concluded to just sleep in Miles' bed.... cuddled up.
And that's where we are now, two teenagers with feelings for eachother that even a blind person could see just how in love one is for the other, laying in bed.
Miles was face up with one of his arms around Gwen's waist, and Gwen was laying her head on his chest with her arms around his mid section.
To no one's surprise it was really hard for either of them to fall asleep.
This is what friends do... right? Gwen thought to herself, the two had been very clear that they were "just friends and nothing more" to all of their friends.
But she couldn't help but remember the amount of times they nearly kissed had it not been for (in)conveniently timed events that interrupted them.
And how, out of fear, neither of them talked about said moments.
"A penny for your thoughts?" She heard him said in a clearly tired voice.
"Nothing much really, just school." She lied, though it wasn't uncommon for her to do that, especially in a situation like this.
He hummed in response, "I still wonder how they just let you back in like it was nothing after missing for what? 3 months?"
She chuckled at that, because it was true, they just let her come back as if she wasn't missing for a good quarter of the year.
"I suppose those missing posters my dad put up helped me stay afloat." She quipped.
He chuckles at that, "In my dimension you could go missing and the principal would still ask your parents for one on one meetings about your absence."
She silently laughed to that, Miles' dimension was probably the most grounded out of any, but even then, it had to have some kind of quirk to keep it separate of the others.
Without realizing she inched a little bit closer to Miles, still being a good distance from his face, yet close enough for her to lean in and kiss him‐
Woah. She thought. We're just friends, why am thinking about kissing him?
Yet she made no effort to move away, and at the same time, she felt something inside her finally snap.
"Y'know, it really is nice to talk to you." She says while looking at him with half-lidded eyes and a tired tone.
He looked at her with a slight grin and held eye contact, "Yeah?".
"Mhm.." She hums as she leans in.
Almost like they did this daily, their lips connect flawlessly.
Miles moved his free arm to cup her cheek, as he did that he slowly moved her so that she'd be laying ontop of him.
When she felt his hand on her cheek she couldn't help but smile as they kissed.
They pulled away momentarily to be able to breathe before going back in again.
Miles could handle bombs and cars being thrown at his chest, yet he somehow couldn't handle the girl he was kissing being on it, so he decided to roll them over, which ultimately broke the kiss, but she did start giggling.
And that giggle alone made time slow-down for him, She's so friggin beautiful he thought.
The way her hair was messily spread across her face, the wide smile that let him see that tooth gap he so loved, and just, everything about her in this very moment he knew he would never be able to capture in his drawings, not even in a thousand years.
He was instantly snapped out of his trance as he heard her say "So much for being friends huh?" between giggles, which admittedly made him start giggling too.
As they stopped laughing they pressed their foreheads together and stared at eachother, lovingly.
She chuckled at what just happened and gave him peck on the lips before nuzzling into his chest.
"What?" he chuckled out as he rested his cheek on the top of her head.
"Nothing," she said, "I just have a little feeling we should talk about this in the morning."
"As if." He says as he kisses her forehead while she hums in response.
Because both of them know that that kiss said more than whatever they would talk about in the morning.
