That One Last Vote

Summary:

What happens when tension and passion push the limits of the relationship between Donald Trump and Joe Biden?

Work Text:

It was finally time, the votes were in. After all his hard work, all the video he had made against the lives of LGBTQ+ people, all the videos of claiming to remove and reverse the transgender-ness that he was so afraid of, only the votes would prove if he had succeeded or not.

He already had a big following, basically being his own cult leader. Selling merch of himself, getting people to storm the capital, making his own digital trading cards, he had done it all. Only now, he had hoped, everything would be successful, and he would finally be back in office to ruin the lives of others, and continue his cult-ish leadings.

As the lady above had started speaking, the man didn't pay attention. The votes were about to be called, yet all that could be heard in his ears was static. He was waiting for her to announce his votes, the votes that would dictate everything he had every wanted. It would be soon, he could feel it, all he had to do was wait. But alas, even that was becoming difficult.

"Biden, with 268 electoral votes."

The crowds cheering on television for Biden all went silent. They knew what this meant. Out of the 583 total electoral college votes, a person only needed 270 of said votes to win. If someone got exactly 270 votes, then the latter would have 268 votes total. Biden had 268 votes, which could only mean.. He had gotten 270. Trump, the man himself, had someone beat Biden by two, he got 270, he was the president again.

Things weren't starting to make sense, however, the way Biden had still been smiling, even after the lady above had said that Trump had won. He was still smiling, still smiling at his loss. Trump became visibly confused, staring at the latter with shock. Why would he still smile? Remembering how Biden had snuck off before the ending of the vote casting, Trump shouted he wanted to know who the last vote was.

Everyone surrounding them seemed confused, why would Trump, out of everyone there, want a check of the last person? Regardless, someone answered, someone who nobody ever thought they would hear on live television admit. Everyone sat at home, everyone standing in the crowd, went dead silent.

"It was me. Your last vote, was me."

As Donald turned around, he saw Biden behind him. With a small, petite smile on his face, Biden watched the man in front of him develop a stare that only an underdeveloped lollipop stick could return.

"After all of this, you still voted for me?" Trump asked quietly, completely stunned on why his top competitor would ever vote for him.

Things weren't clicking in his brain, the cogs in his mind weren't turning. As Biden had slowly moved closer, nodding his head silently, Trump started to feel a tint of pink push against his cheeks. Threatening to envelope his entire face, the pink continued to spread and grow brighter slowly, as Trump processed everything.

"Why..? Why would you vote for me? I was your top competitor, I was the one who was the villain to your hero origin story. I was the one wh--."

An idea over took Trumps brain.

"I change my vote. To you, Biden."

Now it was Bidens turn to be bewildered, Trump was changing his vote, for him? What in the WattPad fanfic was going on here? That wasn't at all possible, he could just do that, right?

The crowd around them spoke in hushed tones, waiting for anything to happen from there forward. Everyone could only watch the two on stage silently. Those who were watching at home were quiet, not knowing how to react, just like those watching in person. Watching as the two males locked eyes with one another, quickly making their way over to one another and..

"Holy shit, did Biden just kiss Donald Trump?!"

The two had reached each other, with Biden making the first move to lock lips with the latter. Trump had reached up, and pulled Biden closer, deepening the kiss by gently pulling the back of said person to him. The two didn't care what anyone saw then, that they were on live television being recorded.

All they cared about in that moment, was each other. The warm embrace the other had on them, it was comforting, telling them that they didn't need their wives or children, or even their past life anymore. All they need with their other half to comfort them, to be their companion. All they needed, was each other.

As the two had pulled away slowly, the world finally zoned back in on them. Neither of the two had realized that the crowd had burst into chaos as soon as the two had kissed. As soon as the two had started making out. The world was gone when they touched, becoming nothing but silence. It was like they had been in a void, where only they existed, where only they mattered.

"This is less than what I expected." Biden stated, rubbing his hand over the back of his neck, over the spot where he had previously been pulled close to the other. Blushing at the thought, he didn't realize Trump had been nodding his head slowly. He didn't care anymore. Trump had no care to lead his cult, to run the world like he previously envisioned.

All he cared about, was his love.

Moving his hand out to the other beside him, Trump grasped Bidens hand, and started leading him off the stage. Biden was confused, he didn't know what was happening. Everything was like a blur for him, nothing seemed to exist, and yet everything was as real as possible, especially once Trump had started holding his hand in his own.

The two do them ran off the stage, away from everything and everyone. Biden figured out what Trump was doing quickly, figuring out that the world most likely wouldn't accept their love for what it was. It was already going to be hard to get away from his true love, and he didn't want to think about the divorce proceedings that would have to go through between Trump and his wife.

He didn't want to think about anything else, besides for running away with his new man. The two ran off, immediately leaving the building and hijacking a random car in the parking lot that still had its keys inside, completely unlocked. Whoever did that was sure an idiot, now they didn't have a car, it was their fault anyways.

As the two had drove away, some people came rushing out the doors to watch. Once Trump and Biden were gone front sight or earshot, the few went back inside, reporting what happened. There was one contestant still standing on the stage, the only other one to turn for president.

Everyone turned to this male, the only person who could possibly lead them now, since their previously chosen leaders were gone in a flurry of fog. As Kanye West stood there, he was overcome with a feeling of power as the lady above announced that since the other two technically forfeited, he was now the president.

People around started screaming again, screaming how Kanye West was now the 47th President of the United States of America.

Kanye would be there to make the world great again, he'd assure it.

It'd just have to take a little bit of time..
