Work Text:
In Xenokuni Hakka often didn’t get to enjoy the cool weather that comes with fall, but now he gets to enjoy it in Elysium.
There was a slight breeze that cut away any extra heat left over from summer. The leaves on the trees were slowly changing color and some had already fell to the ground. The scene was something out of a picture. Hakka didn’t often get to enjoy little things like this because in Xenokuni, Autumn almost just doesn’t exist. Here in Elysium it seems that they really cared for the changing of the seasons.
In this town in particular the stores were decorated and had a variety of warm color themed merchandise hung in the windows. Even the coffee shop Hakka had ducked into had fall and Halloween decor hung up around the shop. An advert of their special seasonal latte was also hung up. For seasonal sake Hakka decided to grab it. He ordered a strawberry pastry as well and then headed out.
Today Hakka was meeting up with the rest of the Tempus boys today. They had to do some work but had some free time before then. They all wanted to spend some time together before they got into doing some work.
As Hakka approached a park he saw two familiar figures. Flayon was on a swing set while Bettel was sitting on a bench completely ignoring the redhead who was shouting at him. Bettel was dressed in skinny jeans, a graphic T-shirt with a belt with many chains on it. Honestly it was what Bettel wore every day every season as far as Hakka knew. Though he did have a flannel on so he was changing the vibe up a little bit.
When the pair saw Hakka approach, Flayon jumped from his swing and struck a perfect landing. Hakka thought Flay was kind of a show off in that regard. The little pilot ran over to Hakka, tackling him with a hug. It almost knocked the breath out of Hakka. No matter how many times Flayon did that Hakka still hadn’t gotten used to it.
The two shorter men had similar fashion styles. Flayon was wearing a sweater with a button up underneath with shorts and long boots. Hakka was wearing something closer to a sweater vest and a button up. Hakka's bag of choice was a fanny pack whereas Flayon opted for more of a crossbody bag resembling more of a purse. Flayon was also wearing a brown beanie. However Hakka’s hair definitely wouldn’t allow for that.
“Hey Hakka when all the leaves are on the ground you wanna make a huge pile and jump into it?! Bettel already rejected me, he hates me!” Flayon whined to Hakka as he pulled away.
The statement just cause Bettel to groan and Hakka laughed “You know what sure buddy I’d love to~”
Flayon took Hakka’s free hand and swung their arms around as they walked away to go meet the rest of the boys. They chatted about whatever and crunched the leaves on the ground. Bettel chimed in here and there as well.
The three approached the convenience store that they agreed to meet the other boys at. Though Shinri had mentioned he might wait at a cafe nearby. The doors opened and the little bell chimed. Hakka saw Altare and Axel come out deep in conversation. As they approached Hakka started to hear their conversation.
“...and then the nee-chan said she wasn’t interested. And I was like ‘yo that’s okay but I thought we were hitting it off’ Man…”
Altare was just listening, nodding his head. Hakka wondered if he was even paying attention.
Flayon let go of Hakka’s hand and charged straight at Axel giving him a big hug, like the one he gave Hakka. Axel let out a little oof and pat Flayons head. “Woah there buddy hello to you too”
Axel’s choice of fashion was a stylish windbreaker with slightly ripped jeans. He didn’t carry a bag similar to Bettel. Both choose to just use the pockets they had. Altare was wearing a simple hoodie half tucked in and a scarf fastened loosely around his neck. He was carrying the groceries him and Axel just bought. More than likely a bunch of snacks for later.
Hakka looked around for a moment. “Did Shinri go to the cafe?”
Axel looked up and Flayon finally released him. “Yeah. But hey! We bought some snacks~ Altare is kindly carrying them.”
Something told Hakka it wasn’t really a choice…
“Okay now I’m going to hold Leaders hand. Don’t cry too much about a cold hand now Hakka~”
Hakka made a dramatic tsk sound and marched over to Bettel snatching up his hand. “Well I’ll just hold BETTEL’S hand now then!”
Bettel groaned “I didn’t ask to be a part of this!” Despite the protest he didn’t take his hand away.
Now the five boys walked down the streets. Hakka had finished his coffee and Altare and Falyon were chit chatting scheming up something or another. Bettel was talking to Hakka about a tattoo and piercing shop he and Bettel2 had come across.
When they came up to the cafe they saw Shinri on the cafe’s patio sipping a small cup of coffee. A plate was set to the side with a napkin and cutlery placed neatly on top. When Shinri saw the boys approach he waved down his waiter and handed her some cash. He must have said something because the waitress hurried off with a small blush. Shinri got up and went to meet up with the boys.
Shinri looked the most formal out of all of them. He was wearing a button up and a leather jacket with slacks. As far as Hakka was aware, Shinri just owned nicer looking clothes. It wasn’t really about looking formal all the time, it was just what he owned.
Hakka let go of Bettel’s hand and now it was his turn to launch himself at someone for a hug. Although Hakka didn’t even have half the strength as Flayon. Shinti let out a low chuckle returning Hakka’s hug.
The six boys spent the rest of the afternoon shopping around. They made horrible jokes and laughed really hard. They had snacks in the park and Hakka and Flayon piled some leaves together. They took turns burying each other in the leaves. By the time they got to the studio they were already a bit exhausted. But they worked hard and got done with their work.
The moon was full in the sky as they left and said their goodbyes. Hakka felt like he could take it out of the sky and eat it. Hakka went to sleep that night full of love for his brothers and dreaming of orange colored skies.
