Chapter 1: Chapter 1
Chapter Text
Am I dead? The last thing I remember…. What do I remember? Oh… right.. Kaguya cut me down after I protected Sakura.
Sakura….? I hope she's okay
Mother, Father
I'll see you soon, yeah?
My body feels heavy. I don't think I can move.
It's okay, just focus on one part of your body at a time.
As sensations slowly returned, keeping her eyes closed as she focused all her other senses into her surroundings. The warmth of the sun hitting her body, the prickly sensation of grass underneath her, birds chirping and the sound of leaves moving with the wind. Tall trees looming over her as her vision cleared. Eyes fluttering open as she sensed chakra signatures heading her way.
"Fuckkk" a groan escaped her as she slowly pushed herself up. Hastily reaching for the parcel laying a few feet away as the chakra signatures closed in. The dark traditional kimono she wore had the outer layer slipping off her shoulders. It was torn in so many places from the fighting in the war. For the first few years of war she had to don the traditional shinobi clothing as there weren't the resources for her typical clothing. Sakura had surprised her with a kimono a week ago and while it wasn't the same quality she normally wore it was a lovely kimono.
She didn't get a chance to fix her appearance before three shinobi appeared before her. All three were wearing Konoha headbands. She had to make herself seem innocent and non-threatening. Making a show of scrambling back in shock and fear as the shinobi in the middle walked forward. He looked familiar, the gray hair he was sporting reminded her of Kakashi. Meaning it could be a relative, a Hatake, but as far as she was aware Kakashi was the last of his clan and even before that there were very few in his clan remaining. Most had died while fighting for Konoha in the first and second war in the front lines.
"Please don't hurt me" She whispered as she pressed herself up against the tree. She didn't want to risk anything if she didn't know where she was. Untouched forests like this haven't existed since Kaguya destroyed them as it was mainly where they hid at first. She didn’t think she could fight to her full potential so the best choice was to act as if she was a civilian.
The three shinobi glanced at each other. The one to the left of the possible Kakashi relative, had black hair and calculating eyes while the one to the right had brown hair and looked ready to attack her. The guy in the middle ordered them to stand back but didn't order them to relax. A fact she didn't miss as her eyes stayed on him as he walked up to her slowly.
"Hello miss." He spoke in a soft voice and gave her a smile as he crouched down in front of her. "Are you lost?" He asked, as he stared at her. Suki could tell he was analyzing her to see if she was a threat and not just being a pervert hopefully but if she were a civilian she wouldn't know that. So she hastily grabbed her outer layer of the kimono to cover up more of her skin and make herself seem smaller before nodding slowly. ”Please don’t hurt me.” she whispered, adding a tremble to her voice.
The man made a show of leaning back and made sure to keep his hands in her view. But to her that meant nothing, for most shinobi it would mean nothing. But if this man was who she thought he was then it would mean even less that she could see his hands. "You're on the border of Iwagakure. Where were you headed?" He informed her.
She took a shaky breath as she hesitated for a moment for show. "The nearest village. I was seeking refuge." She whispered quietly as she clutched her parcel.
Before the man in front of her could reply, the shinobi with black hair spoke up, staring at her with narrow eyes. "You're not dressed as if you were prepared for travel."
She shook her head, "No…I wasn't planning to run but… things happened." She made sure her voice was shaky as if she were reliving painful memories. The possible Hatake glared at his teammate before turning back to her. "We are heading to the nearest village as well. Would you like to join us?" He asked, earning him a shocked look from both of his teammates.
Suki contemplated, on one hand she would like to see where she was. She wasn't about to just scratch the idea of time travel or dimensional travel because spending enough time with Sasuke, Naruto and a goddess that was locked in the moon taught her better. Her chakra reserves were low from lack of nutrition and constant use from fighting. Moving with them would put her at risk if they tried to kill her but it would be safer than moving alone. After a moment she nodded at his suggestion. The man grinned as he offered his hand to her. Grabbing her parcel as she took his hand and stood up.
It took them a whole day to reach the nearest village. Constantly taking breaks every hour or so as they believed she was civilian. With how drained her reserves were at the moment. She could pass as one to most sensors. It would have taken them longer if she hadn't insisted that she didn't want to rest for the night in a forest but would rather be exhausted and rest in a bed then out in the wilderness. Thankfully that seemed like something a stuck up civilian would say.
As soon as they stepped foot in the village. She eyed the village, glancing around the town as she took in the people there. She let her eyes wander as she searched for some indication of the village name. There. Shiitake.
Her heart stopped for a moment as soon as she saw the name of the village. Now she knew for certain she was somewhere in the past. She remembered Shiitake, a horror story even among shinobi. The tragedy of a village wiped out by Iwa because they refused to become an outpost for them. She ignored the feeling of grief as she realized she would never see her loved ones again as she took in the mood of the town. The mood was somber but it could be worse, from what she could tell there were quite a few refugees here.
She turned towards the three shinobi who were staring at her. She was grateful they had helped her, bowing in sincerity. “Thank you for escorting me here.”
The brown haired guy rubbed the back of his neck before shrugging, “We shared the same destination, no harm done.” Then he elbowed the black hair guy who grumbled out a ‘no problem’.
Suki turned towards the possible Hatake who stared at her for a few extra seconds before smiling. "Let's see if our paths ever meet again."

Short little chap to show I'm alive. I am suffering through midterms currently and instead of studying I am writing. I am a STEM major so writing is a reprieve from all the math I have been doing.
Ignore all errors lmao
The 7000 words I have written are for after the beginning of the story so this is why its taking me longer to update sorry :(

"Let's see if our paths ever meet again."
His words caused her to blink in surprise before she nodded in acknowledgement. Waiting until he had taken off with his teammates to turn her back on him. His team was probably headed to restock, it seemed like this village was one of the few neutral ones. Not enough Konoha and not enough Iwa to truly take a side.
It would probably do some good to stay in the inn while she researched and gathered info on what year it was. She knew Sakumo hadn't died yet at least but it seemed the war had already started or was close to. The amount of people lingering outside of buildings was obvious. Probably refugees who wanted nothing to do with the war. She'd be lucky if there was an empty room available.
Pushing open the door to the inn, the bell chiming above her as she was greeted by the person at the front desk. She was lucky to have had some money stored in a seal and she knew currency had not changed over the years. Getting a room was a pretty quick process honestly she was lucky a room had opened up at that moment. The inn didn't care who you were or what you were doing there. Business is business after all.
Eyeing the men at the corner of the room as she glanced around. Huddled together and body language seemingly relaxed. But the glint of their sword and the look in their eye gave them away. They were looking for easy prey. She was quick to avert her eyes as if she was just observing the inn she would be staying at. Turning back to the woman at the front desk as she was handed her key for the room.
Taking the time to catalog the layout of the inn as she walked to her room. She had managed to snag some money from a random civilian on the way by bumping into them and discreetly stealing some. She walked into her room, closing the door behind her as she took in the single bed in the middle of the room, a tiny closet and a small bathroom attached.
As any shinobi would, she takes the time to inspect the room, checking the window over to make sure it locks, although they are easy to bypass, looking at the view before checking every single nook and cranny of the room. After a few minutes of inspecting the room she laid her parcel on the bed as she laid down.
Taking a deep breath, as she thought it over. It was clearly some time before the third shinobi war considering that Sakumo Hatake was still up and running missions it was before his suicide. Of course she would be the one to travel back in time, farther than she had any idea what to do but knowing that she could change the future, she could ensure certain people lived and died before their time.
Burying her face into her pillow as she recalled how Hatake-san smiled at her. It was not fair for a man to be that charming, Kakashi had clearly not inherited his father's charms.
She found it difficult to sleep, her body instinctively knew that she was not where she was supposed. The years of shinobi instincts trained in her made it so every sound alerted her. By the morning, she had barely managed to get 3 hours of sleep. It was better than nothing but not as much as she would have liked.
She stared down at her attire questioning what would be the best choice of action for her attire. If she kept her kimono she ran the risk of a man thinking she was a prostitute or just that she would be easy to take advantage of. On the other hand, shinobi attire would attract more attention with the current tension going on and she needed the villagers to be willing to answer questions.
Deciding to keep her kimono, she could take any person who dared to take advantage of her. Especially after managing to sleep a little more than usual. She knew it would take time to get her chakra back to normal but having normal access to food and being able to sleep without the fear of getting caught unprepared should speed up the process. Taking her parcel and pulsing chakra on her palm to open the seal inked on there to hide her parcel.
She practiced her smile as she stepped out of her room. Closing the door behind her as she glanced at the men who were outside the rooms as well. She gave them a short smile before going downstairs to order breakfast. Never had she felt such happiness to see bread, eggs and rice.
Over the next few days, Suki spent her time gaining the trust of the villagers. She was, to them, a runaway bride who was running from her abusive fiance. She immediately gained the trust of the older women in the village, and they are her prime source of information. Women of the village always know what is happening, they are like their own info network. Their weekly meet up sessions are used to exchange information about what their husbands have said or what the newest traveler mentioned.
Suki found out the war was on the verge of being officially declared, many believed it wouldn’t be long before one of the villages made it official. She learned that many of the mothers were afraid because Iwa was trying to expand before the war started in order to have the upper hand. They were branching into territory that was not close to theirs and they were leaving devastation in their wake.
To her, the first step in changing the future would be to stop Sakumo's suicide. Not only would the leaf village keep one of the most valuable shinobis they had in history. But Kakashi would be different leading to a domino effect.
To do this she needed to learn more information on the missions against Iwa from Konoha. Typically this would mean going to Konoha but instead she will go to Iwa, she vaguely remembers the mission details that lead to Sakumo's suicide. She at least knew what region of Iwa, all she needed to do was sabotage Iwa while she was there and wait for Sakumo and his team.

Summary:
“How can I trust you?” He barked out at her, his tanto raised ready to fight her. She eyes his tanto slightly before sighing, “Think of it as me repaying a debt from your team escorting me. Samurai's honor.” She risked lowering her neck to him to show him she was genuine, despite the risk of enemy nin being near.

Chapter Text
It took another month or so before she ran into the silver head konoha nin and his team. She had been deep in Iwa trying to collect information about the war using a genjutsu on the general commander. She headed back going through the Land of the Snow to avoid anyone who may have been tracking her. The snow in the trees made moving more difficult as it weighed down on her kimono even more. She was just about considering stopping in a cave to change her clothing when she caught movement.
Stopping in the trees as she let chakra flow to her eyes as everything got clearer. Taking in the sight of Hatake fighting what seemed to be Iwa nin. What would Iwa nin be doing out here though? Snow wasn't really their cup of tea.
Taking another moment to assess the situation. Hatake was fighting. His teammates were down by the trees. Enough blood staining the snow to tell her they probably wouldn't make it long. Hatake seemed to hesitate between leaving his teammates or saving them. Which is probably why he keeps looking around while fighting.
Could this be the mission he fails to protect his teammates? Well her plan had been to repay her debt and she supposes if she saves him it could benefit her in the future. And maybe Kakashi wouldn't be full of so much trauma. Seriously she hadn't even spent that much time with him before the war due to being secluded but like come on anyone with eyes could see the poor boy was fucked up.
Taking a deep breath as she came to terms with decisions. They would literally be altering the timeline. Well it wasn't like she liked the original timeline anyway.
"Hatake! Focus on the mission, I'll get your teammates!" She shouted at him. Hatake's eyes snapped over at her as she jumped down from the trees. He slashed down his opponent, she could tell he was assessing what her being there meant, specifically if she was an enemy.
She raised her hands in peace, “I am a medic. I have a higher chance of saving them than you do.”
She knew this was a gesture that Sakumo, as one who hailed from the Hatake clan, would understand and respect. His clan were rumored to come from Samurai and their primal instincts take it very nicely when someone shows submission by showing their neck.
Taking a moment for him to nod despite his hesitant look before he took off to complete the mission. Suki turned back to the assailants who were in front of Sakumos unconscious teammates. She let her chakra spread out as she adjusted her grip on her parcel. Activating the seal on the parcel as she pulled out a katana. Spinning it in her hand before staring at her enemy with a smirk.
One of the nin front, brought his hands up to make hand seals. A water ball being shot at her only to be blocked by her parcel. Spinning in her hand until the jutsu ended. All the nin stared at her as she positioned her katana and propelled herself forward with chakra. Fluidly moving through the nin as she slashed through them and blocked their attacks with her parcel.
Her months of fighting in the other universe came in use as the fight was a quick one. As soon as all the nin were down, she spread her chakra over them to make sure they were actually dead. She did not wish to have any surprises while she healed Hatakes teammates. Humming in satisfaction when she found they were all dead.
Flicking her katana to the side to clear it from the blood as she pressed it back into her parcel. Walking over to Hitori and Yuki who were laying next to each other. She could tell they were in bad shape without even running a diagnostic jutsu. She brought up the hand seals for a summon as she summoned Sora, one of her Panther summons. She couldn’t afford to be attacked while healing them, better to have someone to guard her back.
"Sora, can you monitor his health until I finish with this one? Guard us too." Suki asked her as she kneeled next to Hitori. Bringing a hand over his chest as she ran a diagnostic. Minor cuts here and there. Mmm gash on his side seems to be the main injury. Not too deep but deep enough to cause blood loss. She hummed as she lifted his shirt, turning on her sharingan as she used a B-rank jutsu to slowly bring together the tissue, muscle and nerves. She couldn't heal him completely as that would drain her reserves even more and she didn't know when they could be attacked again. She healed it enough so that there would only be minor bleeding as she deactivated her sharingan and pressed a palm to the seal on her forearm and took out bandages. Quickly bandaging his torso as she looked to Sora when she was done.
"Switch" She muttered as her and Sora switched places. Running a diagnostic jutsu on Yuki. Letting a 'tsk' escape her as she realized his leg was severely injured. Enough for his future mobility to be at risk if it doesn't receive help quickly enough. No wonder Sakumo had abandoned his mission for them. She hummed as she activated her sharingan once more. Using a jutsu to see a holographic version of his leg, showing all the muscles, nerves and tissues. She needed to be able to visualize the healing.
"Sora be alert and protect us." She ordered without even looking at her summon. "Do not worry, Lady Suki." Sora reassured. Suki took a deep breath as she started the reconstruction. She only needed to do enough to where he wouldn't lose his leg and wouldn't die. She used chakra to slowly bring everything back together, using her sharingan to compare an image she saw of a leg's anatomy to Yuki's. Updating the holographic image as she went on. Halfway through the process she noticed Sora stand up from his position next to Hitori. Slowing her reconstruction as she spread her chakra, and recognized it. "Should be an ally." She muttered as she got back to work.
Sakumo got to her, the haunted look on his face replaced by slight relief and worry as he watched her. "What are you doing?" He asked as he took in the dead bodies, Hitori laying with a Panther next to him and Suki working on Yuki. "Lady Suki is currently healing him. Please do not disturb her." Sora replied for her summoner.
Sakumo kneeled next to Hitori, slightly weary of Sora. After ten minutes, Hitori started regaining consciousness, his body tensing because a shinobi was never alert. His body didn’t relax until Sakumo spoke, “At ease. Your injury has been healed and the mission objective was completed.”
"Sakumo?" Hitori whispered, clearly confused. After a few seconds as his mind and vision cleared, Hitori looked around, attempting to sit up and wincing in pain. Stopping as Suki called out to him, “Don’t sit up yet.” Sakumo fretted over him as he helped Hitori lay back down.
It took Hitori a moment to realize whose voice has spoken as he sputtered in shock. "What is she doing here?" He asked as he stared at Suki with wonder. Which is obvious the last time he saw her, she looked so delicate and scared.
Suki huffed as she turned off her sharingan. Taking out more bandages from her seal as she wrapped his leg, glancing at Sakumo and Hitori. "Be careful with your side. I couldn't heal it completely if I didn't want Yuki to die." She explained, she sent a small shock to Yuki’s system to wake him. Yuki slowly started to regain consciousness as Suki finished tying the bandage. Yuki blinked at her a few times before groaning slightly in pain. "Sorry, I did everything I could to save your leg but since you were unconscious I didn't think to block your pain sensations." She stood up from his side as she called Sora over, running a hand through her fur before bowing slightly and thanking her, as is custom. Sora purred in response, rubbing her head against Suki’s leg before reverse summoning herself with a "Take care Lady Suki"
She glanced at Sakumo. "You accomplished your mission?" She asked as she picked up her parcel. Sakumo nodded, his hand hovering over his tanto. Suki just smiled before waving her hand in disinterest, "I have no interest in your mission. Just saw a group of men who had helped me before and decided to repay a debt. "She explained.
By now Yuki had more awareness as he stared at his leg that was basically healed. Suki just hummed, "you'll have to be careful. You almost lost all mobility of your leg. I should have healed it enough to where you aren't at risk of that but I don't have the reserves to complete a full surgery at once so I would recommend getting it checked over when you have the chance." She explained to Yuki who just nodded in shock.
Sakumo stared at her before shaking himself out of a daze. "Thank you. You… are a medic?" Hitori asked. Suki hummed for a moment, "I trained under one for a while so I consider myself to be one." She explained, which has some truths. She is mostly self taught but she did learn a bit from Tsuanade.
Sakumo nodded for a moment, now that the worry of his teammates not surviving was almost gone he took in the bodies of the enemy nin that laid around them. "You took out all of these nin yourself? What alliance do you have?" Sakumo ordered as Yuki and Hitori stared at her in shock. They hadn't expected her to be able to fight after all.
Suki once again waved her hand as if to brush off his accusations. "I have no allegiance. Haven't had one in a long time." She replied. Which is true Konoha may have been where she was born but they lost her allegiance when they started outcasting the Uchiha and then fully lost her loyalty when they ordered the massacre of her clan.
"Missing nin then?" The three men were now eyeing her warily in slight distraught.
"Maa… can't be considered a missing nin if I was never a registered kunoichi." In this timeline at least, she would have barely been born.
There was silence for a moment as they took in the implications of that statement. She glanced out to the trees as she wondered where she should go from here. She had completed her original mission which was to save Hatake from being outcasted for choosing his teammates' lives over the missions. Now she was unsure on how she should proceed.
"Then comes with us" Suki's head shot up in shock towards Sakumo. She blinked at him a few times, registering his teammates' shocked looks but they didn't say anything to dispute it. Her mouth opened and closed a few times in shock.
"It's war time though isn't it? It'd be difficult to become a citizen of another country." She countered. She knew first hand how hard it is, during the fourth shinobi war many wanted to seek refuge in Konoha but struggled to get entrance unless you had connections and multiple people to vouch for who you were. That didn’t even include the interviews and all the paperwork that needed to be filled. They couldn't risk spies entering their country.
"I'll vouch for you, besides the war hasn't officially started yet." Sakumo countered back easily. Hitori and Yuki glanced at each other for a moment before nodding, "We'll vouch for you too." Yuki threw out as Hitori nodded, "Konoha could appreciate a med-nin like you. Especially if you can be a field medic." He added
Suki sighed for a moment as she ran a hand through her hair. She hadn't had the chance to tie it up. "Well Hatake will need some help as you two are injured." She replied, earning her a smile from all three men.
Sakumo grinned as he helped Yuki stand up. Making sure to keep pressure off his leg. Suki walked over to Hitori helping him up. He should be able to walk. "We'll probably have to go at a slower pace but I'd rather not risk getting intercepted by enemy nin." She muttered as she summoned Sora and Buki, two large black panthers. "These are my summons. Buki is the one with the half white tail and Sora is the panther I summoned earlier. " She explained as she scratched both of their ears.
“My panthers can carry you, worst comes to worst. Isn’t that right, Hatake?” She grinned. Hatake barked out a laugh as Yuki and Hitori eyed her summons warily.
“Call me Sakumo.” Hatake grinned at her.
Chapter 4: Sorry
Summary:
So you may have guessed by now that this will probably not be continued. :( I am more focused on my other fic at the moment and kind of lost inspiration for this one. So I decided to post the rest of the fic that I had in my drafts, there may be inconsistency and some things may not make sense because I didn't plan it out that well. Maybe I will come back to it at some point but I honestly doubt it.

Chapter Text
Walking out of the hokages tower was slightly awkward and weird for her. She had become accustomed to jumping out the window in her old timeline in order to piss off the hokages. But walking alongside Sakumo wasn't that bad.
"You can stay with me." Sakumo informed her after they dropped off Hitori and Yuki at the hospital. The medics had looked in wonder at their wounds being almost perfectly healed and demanded she show up to help. Sakumo had managed to convince them to let her rest a few days unless someone was going to die.
"Are you sure? I don't want to invade your space." She asked. Slightly shocked he'd just invite her into his house. On second thought he may have been ordered to keep an eye on her and this would be the easiest way.
Sakumo just nodded and grinned. "I could use some company. I do have a son by the way." He commented and turned back to see her reaction. Suki just hummed in acknowledgment, "how old is he?" She asks.
"Five." Sakumo replies as the compound comes into view. "Any Misses Hatake I should be informed of?" She replied. She was pretty sure Kakashi's mother died in childbirth but she wasn't too sure and didn't want to assume. Sakumo shook his head sadly, "she died giving birth to Kakashi"
"Oh. I'm sorry for mentioning it. " And she was but she had to be sure. Sakumo just gave her a half shrug and a smile before entering the compound. Immediately there was a mini-Kakashi running out the front door to stand next to his father. Staring at her with suspicion as the babysitter bowed and said their goodbyes.
Suki stared at Kakashi before bowing. Ignoring the shocked look from Sakumo as she addressed Kakashi. "Hello Kakashi-kun. I'm Suki, your father invited me to stay with you guys but I wanted to make sure it was okay with you first. If not, I can always go somewhere else." She stayed bowing, and she could feel the surprise in both Sakumo and Kakashi's chakra.
"If dad says you can stay then you can." Kakashi's voice rang in her ears. She smiled as she straightened out from her bow. "Thank you, Kakashi-kun." She replied genuinely. Kakashi gave her another look before turning to go inside. Sakumo full on grinned at her before motioning for her to follow.
"You can use one of the guest rooms. Kakashi, can you take her tomorrow to buy things?" Sakumo asked his son. Once Kakashi nodded, Sakumo continued. "We have a dojo for you if you want to practice. There is an armory where you can borrow weapons if you need one?I didn't get to see the weapon you used?" Sakumo questioned. Looking her over for any visible weapons but could only spot her parcel. Kakashi, realizing what his dad was looking for, also looked her over.
Suki's eyes danced in amusement as she raised her parcel. "This is my weapon." She watched as the father and son raised their eyebrows in confusion. She brought a hand up to the hilt of her parcel as she pulled chakra through it and pulled out her katana. "This is Iaso. Named after the goddess of curses, remedies and healing." She explained as both the boys stared at her.
"You use seals…" He stated in wonder. Suki just laughed slightly as she put Iaso away. "My parcel can also block attacks as I can infuse it with chakra and there's a few seals on it." She explained.
"You are a kunoichi?" Kakashi asked her as he stared at her parcel with poorly concealed interest. This Kakashi was still young and hadn't lost his father. But still a little rough around the edges. Suki thought about it for a moment, "Kind of." She shrugged in response.
Causing Kakashi to frown, "it's a yes or a no question." He countered. Suki laughed, "Sorry sorry. I can be a kunoichi, if they need me to fight I can fight. But I'm also a medic. I think I'll be a field medic here to keep people like your father safe." She explained. Kakashi tilted his head as he thought her response over before nodding in acknowledgment and leaving to his room.
Sakumo chuckled from his spot in the corner where he had watched them interact. "Sorry he's a little grumpy for his age. A genius they call him." Sakumo scratched the back of his neck.
Suki just smiled, "Even geniuses are children. They deserve to not be expected to do everything." She had seen too many geniuses die, too many living in sorrow and soaked in blood. She had been hailed a genius too and when she turned her back on konoha they whispered that it was expected of a genius to go crazy. Sakumo stared at her, a look in his eye, as if he was seeing her in a new light before nodding. "I wish he hadn't been born in war times." He sighed.
Suki just smiled as she started walking towards her room, "Then you just work to give him as much of a childhood as you can. " As she reached the door to her room, she turned to look at him, "Goodnight, Sakumo."
Sakumo smiled at her, " goodnight,if you need anything I'm right next door." He responded as she stepped into the room. Closing the door behind her as she brought a hand to her chest. Why had no one told her Hatake Sakumo was attractive?
-
"Shopping?" Kakashi asked as soon as she stepped out of her room. Luckily she had an extra kimono packed away in her storage seal to change into. A beautiful pink one with white flowers on it.
"Good morning to you, too." She replied as she walked down the hallway. Kakashi behind her as they walked into the kitchen. Raising an eyebrow in the empty room at Kakashi.
"Tou-san went out for a mission report." Was the explanation she received as she walked into the kitchen. Opening cabinets and the fridge to see what they had. "Have you eaten?" She asked as she glanced at Kakashi who was observing her.
Kakashi only shook his head, "I was going to buy something." Suki clicked her tongue at his response before waving him over, "now it's good to learn how to cook. I'll instruct you and you help prepare our breakfast, alright?" She was already looking through the ingredients. Subtly, looking at Kakashi who had washed his hands.
Preparing breakfast went by pretty quick with an extra pair of hands. Kakashi took a seat at the table as she served their plates, the fried rice with kimchi looked better than she expected. Setting to the side a part in case Sakumo came home early, wrapping it as she slid to the side. It was the least she could do as he was letting her stay in his home. Picking up her and Kakashi's plate as she sets them down.
-
"Sakumo-san!"
Suki glanced at Kakashi who shrugged at her in response. She raised an eyebrow only to receive a shift of the body away from the door. She sighed, putting down her parcel in front of Kakashi so he could continue to examine it. Ignoring the hand swatting her as she ruffled his hair as she passed by him. Walking over to the door as she spread her chakra to see who it was. The signature seemed familiar but there was no killing intent this time.
After a deep breath she opened the door. Only to come face to face with the Toad Sanin. His gaze dropped from where he expected to be met with Sakumo only to be met with her. "Can I help you?" She asked as she leaned on the doorframe.
He blinked at her a few times, "You're not Sakumo." Causing her to click her tongue in annoyance, "clearly not." She countered.
"He can come in. He is tou-san's friend." Kakashi called out. Suki hummed in acknowledgment and waited a moment before moving to the side allowing him in. He grinned at her and walked inside, "so are you little Hatakes new babysitter?"
"Suki isn't really a babysitter, she lives here too!" Kakashi replied as he stared at the seal on her parcel and the one he was drawing. "Nee.. Suki, what is this character for?" He called out to her. Suki hummed as she walked over, taking a look at the character he was pointing at. "Ah that character is teleportation and the ones next to it are attachment and location." She explained pointing at each character on the seal.
Seals were a pain in the ass. It had taken her a while to understand them but from what she was told. She picked it up a lot more easily than others. Kushina-san had been the first to show her and then Jiraya offered her some tips when Kushina died. Then he left too and she taught herself. Evolving what she had been taught to seals that were either completely new or haven't been seen since the fall of Uzushio
Kakashi's eyes lit up in understanding,"so you can summon it to you?" He asked in wonder. He really was a prodigy, he wasn't the best at seals and wasn't in her timeline but he understood the basics from Kushina. Now that he has her though….she's gonna teach him all she can to make up for the lack of sharingan.
Suki hummed and ruffled his hair, "that's right I have a seal inked onto my palm that is where it teleports. " She praised him and showed him her palm. "There's no seal." Kakashi commented, "I have to pulse chakra to it for it to show but not too much or it will activate. " She explained as she pulsed a bit of chakra to show the seal and allowed Kakashi to copy it onto paper.
She looked up to see Jiraya staring at her with interest. "You can do fuinjutsu, girl?" He asked
"Mm a little bit." She replied as she stopped flowing chakra to her palm once Kakashi was done. She thought for a moment before commenting, "we can ink some storage seals on your skin later, Kakashi if you want to"
The boy immediately perked up, before frowning slightly which meant he was thinking it over for a moment "really? But we need to ask tou-san first. "
Suki laughed in response, "Of course. '' Making sure Kakashi was focused on the seals before she straightened out and headed towards the kitchen. "Tea?" She asked without turning back, already knowing the toad sannin was following her.
"Sure. " He let the silence settle between the two of them before speaking once more. "That's more than some basic fuinjutsu." He commented.
"I learned some here and there." She deflected as she set up the water on the stove. She had forgotten Jiraya was known for his spy network for a reason and it was just because he was strong.
"The boy seems to like you. Doesn't even like me and I've been around quite a bit." Ah he was trying to find out why she was here.
"Sakumo invited me to stay after I helped him and some teammates. As I'll be instated as a field medic and didn't have anywhere to stay, I took him up on the offer clearly. If you have a question, ask it, instead of trying to be subtle. That doesn't work with me." She didn't like being interrogated subtly, if someone had a question they should be straight forward instead of beating around the bush.
Jiraya blinked at her a few times in surprise before he let out a full on laugh. "No wonder Kakashi and Sakumo like you. You're pretty cut throat." He gave her a grin full of teeth. Opening his mouth to probably make another remark towards her but was interrupted by the sound of the door opening and a "Tou-san!" from Kakashi.
Suki listened as Sakumo greeted his son and most likely hugged him from the yelp she heard from Kakashi. The sound of the door closing and footsteps heading towards them as he peaked around the corner. He waved at them and didn't even bat an eye at Jiraiya's presence in his home. Turning towards her and grinning at her. Suki huffed and turned around to get the tea cups ignoring the warmth she felt from his smile.
Busying herself as she listened to Sakumo speak with Jiraiya. "Jiraiya! I wasn't expecting you."
"Oh you know. I had come to see you and imagine my surprise at seeing this lovely lady in your home." Her eyes twitch slightly at his words.
A laugh was heard from Sakumo, "Yes, Suki is staying with me. She's a pretty good medic. Left all the medics at the hospital with stars in their eyes from her work. " A soft smile graced her lips at his words.
"A medic? She seems more like a seal master with the work she was showing your son." Jiriaya twitched in surprise as she slammed his cup down in front of him before setting down Sakumos cup in front of him.
"I'll be with Kakashi." She kept her voice polite as she walked around them to serve Kakashi a cup as well.

Year 58: chunin exam for kakashi & team Minato formed
"You're not my mother." Kakashi spat at her, knocking over his plate as he stood up angered.
Suki smiled sadly as she bent down to pick up the broken plate. "I know I am not Kakashi. But I don't have to be your mother to care for you."
Kakashi stared at her in shock, coiling back in pain as if he just realized what he said. After a moment he bent down to help her pick up the broken plate. "I'm sorry." He whispered.
She gave him a soft smile in response as she ruffled his hair with her free hand. "It's okay. You're allowed your outbursts as long as you apologize later. Even I get mad."
"But you've never gotten mad at me or dad. Despite what we say or do."Kakashi refused to meet her gaze as if he was extremely ashamed of his actions.
"Both of you say mean things when you're worried or angry. I've said mean things to your dad when he has worried me after a mission." Suki reassured him that it was okay to be angry.
Kakashi hesitated for a moment. "I do see you like my mom and I feel like I'm betraying my blood mom but I never met her." He explained.
"You don't have to forget her ever. You don't have to call me mom either. You can use distinct names for each of us if you wish."
"Like I can call you kaa-san and her mom?" He asked, despite his voice staying the same. Suki could see the spark of hope in eye. She couldn't deny him this, she nodded "that's a good idea." She opened her arms and telegraphed her movements in case Kakashi wanted to move away as she pulled him in for a hug. Kakashi tensed for a moment in her embrace before he relaxed, burying his face into the side of her neck .

Year 59: itachi is born
Her legs burned and ached from how fast she ran. They couldn't take him. She refused to let them take him. He was her son now. Using chakra to propel herself through the window as she opened her arms to grab Kakashi. Pressing Kakashi against her as she rolled on the ground before rolling to her feet. Her parcel out and open protecting them from long distance jutsu's as the seal would absorb the chakra. As she glanced down at her son.
Her son. Her son. Her son.
"I can call you kaa-san"
"Kaa-san! Tou-san said your plant was ugly!"
"Can we have eggplant for lunch?"
The mantra was repeating in her head as she held his conscious body close to her. Using her parcel to push back the assailants. Activating her sharingan to knock them out in a genjutsu but after the first two were out they learned to avoid her gaze. Attempting to twist her body to avoid a sword. Her eyes widened in panic as she realized if she moved they'd hit Kakashi. Stubbornly kept her body in place as the sword pierced her side. Using that opportunity to take the man out with a genjutsu as their gaze met.
Her eyes darted to the window. She didn't know when reinforcements would arrive. If they would even arrive. She had rushed out when she heard Kakashi had gone missing during one of his missions outside the village. The seal she had attached to him, allowed her to locate him.
Grinding her teeth together as she grabbed the handle of the sword. Taking a deep breath before pulling the sword out. Reaching into her sleeve to pull out a smoke bomb tag and throwing it. As soon as the smoke started to fill the room. She took the chance, running out of the room to take cover. The sound of the assistants attempting to reorganize keeps her on edge as she quickly takes a moment to summon Ryoshi. As the name suggests he was one of her biggest hunter panthers. Big enough to carry Kakashi and not lose any speed because of jt. "Please help him!" Her voice was bordering hysteria. Ryoshi blinked at her as he took in the scene before nodding. "I will ensure Lady Suki's kin is safe. But what about you?" He questions as he kneels down to have Kakashi hoisted on top of them. Using chakra to make chains, a weak imitation of the Uzuamaki technique, that will tie Kakashi to Ryoshi.
Deep breaths. Kakashi will survive. Breath in. Breath out. Placing a hand on Kakashi's head as she whispers, "You'll be okay." Smiling as he features twitched as if registering her words before softening once more as she rubbed in between his eyebrows. Another deep breath, "Ryoshi. Ensure that Kakashi makes it somewhere safe. No matter what, you will not attempt to return to me until Kakashi is safe. " She ordered. Kakashi had a better chance of escaping if he was without her. She will serve as a distraction, "Now go."
Immediately, Ryoshi is taking off, jumping out of the window. Rising to her feet as nin starts to fill the room. All of them poised and ready to kill her. She can not die, not until she is sure Kakashi is safe.
Sheathing Iaso out of her parcel as she gets into position. She's already bleeding from the sword that pierced her earlier. In the next second, she's taking off towards the nin. Attack, dodge, block. Grit your teeth to avoid screaming in pain from an injury. It was a dance she had practiced for years.
-
"Ryoshi!"
All heads turned towards Sakumo who had walked out of the room. Minato and Jiraya glancing at each other before stepping out to follow him. Their eyes widened at the sight of a panther bowing in front of Sakumo and Kakashi in his arms.
Minato took a deep breath as he spread out his chakra before speaking "Isn't that Suki-sans summons?"
There was a silence as Sakumo focused on the panther once more."Ryoshi, where is Suki?" Minato resisted the urge to tense up, that was the voice of a commander. Of the feared white fang.
The panther's ears dropped,"Lady Suki used herself as a distraction and bait. Ordering me to escape with the cub."
It was as if Minato just watched a man crumble. He was devastated when he found out Kakashi was taken but Suki was out for blood and she took off before anybody noticed, that just proved to him that the woman was more than the field medic she portrayed herself as.
"...What?"
The panther, Ryoshi? Heeled back even further, teeth bared slightly. "I must return to Lady Suki! I could smell her blood before I left, meaning..!" Ryoshi was rambling, his whole body posture screamed fidgety and scared.
Suddenly, Kakashi was being pushed into his arms. Minato stared down at his chunin before staring at Sakumo. Who wasn't wasn't looking at him.
"Minato, take Kakashi to a medic to be checked over and actually guard him this time. I'm going after Suki. "
Jiariya stared for a few seconds before nodding. "I'll go with you. If they can hurt your little girlfriend then they could cause some damage."
-
"Lady Suki is in there!" Rysohi informed them before leaping through the window, searching for his summoner. Sakumo and Jiraiya right behind as they pass by the many corpses of dead enemy nin. Blood was soaked everywhere.
"Like a massacre." Sakumo shot Jiraiya a glare for his comment.
They came to a halt as Ryoshi slowed down, heeling as he pawed at a closet door. Exchanging glances, Sakumo reached out to open the door. Leaning back as a katana was trusted outwards to wear his heart would be.
"Suki. It's Sakumo and Jiariya. Ryoshi led us to you." Keeping his voice calm as Sakumo crotches in front of her. They watch as her eyes slowly clear the haze and redness of the sharingan fading.
"Sa..kumo?"
The moment her arm hits the ground, Sakumo lurches forward to pull her close to his body. "I'm here, my love. Stay awake, I need you to stay awake."
Standing up with Suki in his arms was nothing. He refused to lose her after he almost lost their son and she brought their son back.
-
"I have a weak body. That's why even though I technically have the ability to join large battles. I stick to undercover tactics as my body wouldn't be able to keep up with harder battles."
"So thats why you didn't want to join as a shinobi or anbu." Jiraya commented.
"It's too much work to do something like that. I trained to be able to sit pretty and poison someone after they get comfy with me." She shrugged as she reached her hand out for the gelatin in Sakumos hand.
"Well other then you little boyfriend here, someone's been itching to come see." Jiraya laughed, standing up to open the door. Only to see a blur of white before there was a tiny figure standing next to Suki's bedside.
"Kaa-san!"
A smile graced her lips at the sight of her own. Yes. Her son that's what he was. "Kakashi. Are you okay?"
Kakashi gave something of a semblance of a pout as she messed up his hair. "You should be worried about yourself. "Letting a laugh at his grumbles escape her.
"I'll be okay."

Year 62: Bridge incident(obito assumed dead)
“Do not separate from them under any circumstance.” Suki stared Minato down. She had cornered him before they left for their mission to that damn bridge. She had grown fond of Kakashi's teammates and Obito was a leading player in what happens in the future. “Did I make myself clear Minato?”
Year 64: Third shinobi war ends, Minato is declared hokage, Kakashi joins ANBU
“Anbu do not retire, Sakumo we all know that, they retire when they die their loyalty till the end and I do not care whatever changes Minato says he will make. There is darkness in this village and I refuse to allow Kakashi to be caught up in it. Minato can appoint him as his personal guard if he wishes but no anbu unless you want to find a new hokage.”
Year 65: Rookie 9 are born, Kubiak attack
“Nothing will happen Suki. Minato reinforced the seal. Kakashi and the rest of the personal guard are on duty and are on the lookout for intruders. Nothing will happen as you had seen it happen before.” Sakumo tried to reassure his wife, holding her between his arms as he kept her on their bed.Suki had insisted they be dressed in their shinobi attire just in case something happened.
“But what if something does happen, and kakashi is in the center of it.”
Year 66: Orochimaru becomes a missing nin
“Orochimaru, I hear they are giving you a genin team.”
Orochimaru seemed to slip into his seat further somehow. “Is word already spreading?”
Suki laughed as she took a seat in front of him, grabbing one of the cookies and nibbling on it. “Shinobi are already betting on whether your genin or you will request a change first.”
Notes:
As you can tell there are so many inconsistency with the powers of Suki, had a backstory for it and never ended up fixing it here so yeah that kinda sucks.
