It was a dark autumn night when Kanade decided to go outside. An unusual thought for her. Although it was better for her health, right? She wandered around in the park she knew so well. "Night walks are so much better" Kanade thought. The sun always hurt her eyes when she was out during the day. Well, it was definitely due to the fact she'd stay at home all day with no light other than the computer screens in her room.
'Hm? Kanade?' the silver-haired girl heard a familiar voice behind her. She turned around to see the person who called her name.
'Oh, hello Mizuki.' She said as the other walked up to her.
'Heya! What are you doing here so late?' they asked with a cute grin on their face.
'I'm on a walk. I don't really know why. What about you?' Kanade questioned curiously.
'I was with Rui all day and I'm on my way home!' Ah, of course, Kanade heard of Rui Kamishiro once or twice. 'You see, we spent almost 4 hours working on this new thing Rui came up with and then went to use it around other people! It was so fun you know? For example this one person...' Kanade zoned out as Mizuki talked about their day. Thinking of friends, a very sudden idea popped into the silver-haired girl's mind. If she made sure Mafuyu wasn't asleep she could pay her a little visit.
'Hey Kana?' Mizuki stopped rambling when they saw the other wasn't really listening anymore. 'Something on your mind?'
'I'm sorry, I just got an idea but it's not really important.' Kanade blushed of embarrassment.
'Nah, I get it' Mizuki put that cute and silly grin on their face again. 'By the way, I should probably be getting home or mom's gonna get worried so... See you on Nightcord!'
'I understand. See you, Mizuki.' Kanade smiled and they both waved their goodbyes.
Mafuyu's home wasn't too far away from where Kanade was. Even if it was farther away than the silver-haired girl remembered, that walk could be nice.

The walk to Mafuyu's house Kande spent in thoughts. It's been a while since their last meeting in real life. Being honest she kind of missed seeing Mafuyu. The purple-haired girl was a very interesting person to Kanade. The blue-eyed girl had to save her. Kanade really wanted Mafuyu to have a better life. She cared about Mafuyu more than she cared about herself, she loved Mafuyu more than she loved herself. Mafuyu... she was pretty, she had those beautiful purple eyes that looked so lovely when Mafuyu smiled. Kanade saw her smile a few times. A soft one, the one that Mafuyu didn't even realize she could put on her face. There was just this something about Mafuyu that Kanade couldn't explain.
What was quite sad about Kanade's love was that looking at Mafuyu and her relations with emotions it was hard to tell if the purple-haired girl knew anything about love.
But Kanade believed Mafuyu could heal. Not just because she wanted the other to love her back. No. She cared for Mafuyu and wanted the best for her.
Then Kanade arrived at Mafuyu's door.

While waiting Kanade sat down on the stairs near Mafuyu's front door with her hair falling messily to the ground. After a while the door opened and Mafuyu walked through. She then carefully and silently closed the door behind her and sat down on the stairs next to Kanade.
'It's good to see you Mafuyu' the blue-eyed girl whispered and smiled as she looked at the other. Mafuyu nodded.
'It's nice to see you too' she repiled. They didn't need to talk much The two girls felt really comfortable in each others company. Kanade could feel her cheeks turn a bit pink but she didn't think about it much.
'Kanade' Mafuyu started but lost the words to express her thoughts. Kanade didn't rush her and waited.
'Thank you' the purple-eyed girl said at last. 'For coming to see me' she looked at Kanade. The silver-haired girl could feel her heart beating faster. The two just stared into each other's eyes. Kanade smiled when she saw a faint sparkle in Mafuyu's eyes.
They later stayed just sitting there and enjoying being together. Suddenly Mafuyu got a bit anxious. Her mom might realize she's not in her room and who knows what could happen then.
'I think it'd be better if I went back to my room...' the purple-haired girl said.
'I understand, don't worry' Kanade replied.
Mafuyu was ready to sneak back inside but hesitated. She walked back to Kanade and wrapped her arms around the other girl's waist. Kanade, at first shocked at the sudden physical contact, then returned the hug.
After they backed a bit, the blue-eyed girl smiled lovingly at the purple-eyed girl. That faint sparkle appeared in the taller girl's eyes again.
Then Mafuyu smiled. She did. Really softly, it was barely seeable but she did. Kanade felt butterflies in her stomach. If only Mafuyu smiled more often. She looked so alive and so pretty when she did.
'Kanade...' Mafuyu whispered. 'Will you be on Nightcord today?'
'I'll probably be late but yes, I will.' Kanade replied.
'Okay. Bye then.' Mafuyu said as she sneaked back into her house.
'See you, Mafuyu' Kanade said after her and began her walk back home.
