It was a normal day where Kai and Aichi were hanging out at card capital.
They had just finished their normal training of facing each other in a card fight.
Kai: You never fail to surprise me with how much you continue to improve each and every time.
Aichi: Well you keep pushing me to get better when you get better.
They just smiled at each other. As after everything they had been through. It was nice to relax, before moving on with what they wanted to do as they had just graduated.
Aichi: I really am going to miss having you around when you go to Europe.
Kai: It isn't like we can't talk over the phone. Plus there is something that will always connect us.
He said while pointing to Aichi's blaster blade card. Aichi knew what he meant as it was shown multiple times to both of them how blaster blade kept them together.
Ren: Awwwww what about me Kai?
A very familiar voice to Kai and Aichi came from the doorway of the card shop. It was quite in the card shop so he wasn't attracting too much attention. The only other one there at the time was Sub manager who was napping in the usual place.
Aichi: Ren!
Kai: What do you mean by, what about you?
Ren: What, do we not have something special to remember each other by?
Kai: What, like the bad memories of your psyqualia?
Ren: Oh come on you know what I mean.
Aichi: Alright, alright Kai stop messing around with him.
Kai sighed as he kind of wanted to keep it up but he knew Aichi would have said something at some point.
Kai put his hand in his pocket and pulled out two small boxes as he handed them both to Aichi and Ren.
Ren and Aichi opened them up at the same time as they saw a bracelet. That looked like they matched with each other except one part was missing.
Ren: Giving us broken bracelets, That's your way of a gift?
Aichi just gave a small laugh.
Aichi: No Ren. Kai still has something he has to show.
Kai pulled his sleeve up revealing another bracelet as he gestured to Ren and Aichi to put their bracelets together. The three bracelets formed a Vanguard circle.
Ren: A Vanguard circle?
Kai: Aichi suggested this as a symbol that no matter how far we are from each other we are reminded of each other.
Aichi just smiled as Ren wrapped his arms around Kai and Aichi for a group hug.
Ren: Let's promise to never stop talking to each other no matter what.
Kai and Aichi both nodded as Kai walked back to the vanguard table and held his deck pointing it towards Ren.
Kai: Shall we for old times sake?
Ren: of course.
Aichi stepped back as the two prepared for the fight.
Ren: I warn you I am not the same as the last time we fought.
Kai: Neither am I.
Ren and Kai: Stand up the Vanguard!
Kai and Ren were on each other's level as normal. Ren ended up losing to Kai but he didn't care. as after the events of being on the moon. He expected Kai to be this good.
Aichi and Ren had a card fight right after with Ren barely managing to win thanks to getting triggers at the right time.
Aichi: Aw looks like we know where we stand in who is stronger right now.
Kai: It also comes down to luck as well so don't be harsh on yourself. You know you are just as strong as we are Aichi.
Ren: He is right, you know.
It was Aichi's turn to hug them as they said that as they said bye to Sub manager and went their separate ways before it got dark. They would definitely not forget the time they spent together.
