"CHANNNN!" I called him once I entered the dorm, "I'm so sorry I'm late the traffic was-" I stopped middle sentence when I noticed the empty living room, the only source of light coming from the bathroom.
A few seconds later Chan walked out of the shower and looked confused at me, "what are you late for? No one is here." Did I mix up the dates? No I'm sure it's the 2nd of October, where is the boys and the cake and the balloons and most importantly where's Chan's shirt,
"for god's sake Chan put a shirt on," he looked down surprised as if he didn't notice he wasn't wearing a shirt, "my bad," he smiled sheepishly and slipped again to the bathroom to cover his chest.
I used his absence to call the boys, I thought about Felix first cause I'm not in the mood to yell in Korean, he picked up after the first ring, "heyy Sophieee," I could hear his smile that doesn't match his deep voice, "Lixie where the hell are and the other kids and why is Chan alone on his birthday doing nothing but shower and showing me his abs!" I half shouted so Chan won't hear.
"Yee Sophie I got Chan flashed again? I'm sorry you'll get used to it." I'm so done with them. "Lixie FOCUS, Chan is alone on his BIRTHDAY, should I spell it out for you!"
"Ha? What do you mean? We were trying to prepare a surprise for him but he said he got plans," I started at the bathroom wall trying to figure out how it was supposed to be a surprise but they asked if he was free, "Felix I need you to tell me exactly what happened,"
"Well, I was chatting with him one day and we had planned that I'll ask him to hangout with me at the park and then we'll surprise him there," he explained and I hummed along, "carry on, and br quick he's going to be out 5 minutes ago,"
"You mea-," he started but I cut his words short, "no Lixie I'm American I know grammar, it's a joke!"
"Okay okay, well he said that he has to make a stop at the 26th, idk where that is tho," dumb, I'm a friend of a bunch of dumb men.
"He meant he's turning 26 you idiot!" The line was silent for a second before I could hear Felix cursing, just then Chan opened the bathroom door and came out, "umm why are you still standing there?" Why is Chan using his brain when his band mates aren't!
"No reason, it's fun here, go get dressed, we're going out," just then I noticed that he's already dressed, black hoodie, but it's chan we're talking about he's not going to miraculously change after 26 years, "nvm,"
"Felix wanted to go out tho, he never said what hour so I got dressed just in case," god he's too sweet and Felix is too dumb I'm going to steal Minho's tissues and feed it to him, "yes! Yes I know that, he invited me as well." I'm going to burn in hell because of them, and before hell I'm going to get a (lying is the beginning of every evil soul) lecture from Chan.
"Great! Let's go then, do you know where we'll meet him?" I don't. Because I'm supposed to be the one who comes up with a place, except ... "The park," I smiled wildly.
....
I got in the passenger seat in Chan's car and took out my phone to create a group chat without Chan.
Y'all are idiots and I'm dealing with the after math.

"Sophie if you're busy I can drive you back home, I'm sure Felix wouldn't mind," I almost forgot I was in the car with Chan. "What? No! No, I'm not, just catching up with my online friends." I lied, I know he can tell I did, "if you say so."
3 minutes later we were parking the car and closing the windows so Chan could lock the car, "I'll go get us a table just in case he brought noodles, cause I think he will." He knows, he knows and he's trying to play along and make it easy for me.
"You're too smart I hate it," I whinnied, "I won't tell I know I promise." He laughed.
"So how long till they arrive?" He said carrying the table to an empty spot, the park isn't crowded which is rare and only happens for the lucky ones.
"30 minutes," I rolled my eyes, "you're not doing a good job at pretending you don't know,"
He laughed and threw my jacket at me when I started shivering, I didn't even notice he got it from the backseat where I tossed it when I first took my seat in the car.
"I'm sorry I'll shut up now, btw thank you, ik Felix probably didn't understand the joke and cancelled everything, you can tell them to not bother I'd be happy with just you and kids here," as I said, he won't change overnight.
"Channie baby, love, shut up before I steal your laptop." He pretended to zip his mouth but spoke up not even a second later, "I'm serious tho! Also why are you calling me a baby, YOU are a baby." He smirked.
"You know I'm turning 20 soon!" I protested, "that's still 6 years difference Sophie, I was in school when you were just born," he squeezed my cheeks and I slapped his hands away.
"Happy birthday to you" I heard the boys singing from behind us as they approached with the cake and the balloons and smiles painting their faces.
"Thank you guys," Chan said in Korean as he hugged all of them then me and blew out the candle. "I love youuuu," he started acting cute to annoy them.
"Ewww get away from me old man," shouted Seungmin.
