Work Text:
He knows that he shouldn’t feel this peaceful, not when he’s sinking below the surface of the waves, unable to swim.
He wants to scream, to flail, to fight his way back so he can live , but he can’t move.
He can’t move.
He shuts his eyes and waits to die.
Monty gasps, shooting awake and displacing the blanket laying over him and Micheal.
Right, he’s sleeping over with Micheal tonight.
Micheal makes a small chirping noise, then a ‘mrrp’, rolling over as his eyes flutter open. “Mm, Monty?”
The snake blinks a few times, shaking his head. “I’m fine, go back to sleep.”
His boyfriend frowns, but nods in understanding. “Cuddles?”
“Yeah... cuddles.”
