Chapter Text
Two days before Faruq Manzoor’s niqah, he was nowhere to be found.
In retrospect, Saba should’ve seen it coming. She should’ve known that Faruq wasn’t idiotic enough to wait around for his fate to be sealed with someone he had no regard for; that he would rather die than live a life of lies.
Her bhai was smart, even though he never had a chance at stellar education like she did. He never did too well in school, never went to college either. But he was smart. He was smart enough for Saba to know she had no reason to worry.
If it wasn’t for the note.
Two days before Faruq Manzoor's niqah, he was nowhere to be found. But he had left a note for his sister to find.
Two days back, she had gone to call him for dinner and he wasn’t there, not in his room, not in the house. His room was intact, exactly as it had always been (Faruq bhai was barely there on any other day), so she assumed that he went for a walk, or to do whatever he usually does.
It wasn't until she entered her own room and saw the note on her desk that she felt her heart drop.
Two days before Faruq Manzoor's niqah, he was nowhere to be found, and the note he had left for his sister to find had convinced her that she would never find him again.
