Opps
“Wait, wait, wait! Brains. Are you telling us that you invented a ray that makes things invisible!?!”
Virgil looked up from his tinkering with the mole and narrowed his eyes in the direction of his younger brother Gordon’s voice as it echoed across the hanger.
“Why y-yes, Gordon I did,” Brains replied.
“Wow, that’s minty,” Alan commented, and the hairs on the back of Virgil’s neck shot up, as moved to join Brains and his younger brothers. “Think we could have a demonstration?”
“Sorry A-Alan,” Brains replied. “I-I couldn’t g-get the ray t-to make things r-reappear, and s-since it wasn’t m-much value to I-International Rescue, so I s-shelved it.”
Virgil breathed a sigh of relief, as he walked up to the group.
“Hmm, pity,” Gordon mused. “Think of all the possibility’s if it actually worked.”
“Oh, I am thinking of them,” Virgil growled. “Be thankful, that it didn’t.”
“You are no fun,” Gordon grumbled.
Virgil smirked at his brother, “That’s me,” he replied. “Total killjoy…” Virgil frowned as something suddenly occurred to him. “Say Brains…?”
“Yes, V-Virgil?”
“What exactly did you do with the ray, after you gave up on it?”
“Oh!” Brains replied. “A-as it wasn’t m-much use to I-International Rescue I-I gave it to MI5.”
Virgil’s heart sunk to his boot’s, “Brains?” he asked, as he spotted Tin-Tin walking towards them. “Are you sure that giving MI5, a protype that isn’t working properly, was such a good idea?”
“W-why wouldn’t it be, V-Virgil?”
“Brains!” Tin-Tin called out. “There you are, I have a message for you from MI5, in regards to the invention you gave them – They are wondering how do you reverse the effects?”
Gordon and Alan burst out laughing, Virgil facepalmed.
“Oh d-dear…”
