“Ohmigod! Ohmigod! Ohmigod! Ohmigod! Ohmigod!” Dean couldn’t contain his excitement.
Cas was less enthused, “I don’t see what is so special that we have to wait in this line, Dean.”
“Cas, it’s STARLIGHT! STARLIGHT is HERE. RIGHT here in Lebanon!”
“I understand that, Dean. That’s why we’re standing in line with hundreds of young people in a warehouse.”
“It’s not a warehouse, Cas; it’s a convention center, and it cost me five hundred bucks to get us these places in line!”
“Five hundred dollars?” Cas was surprised, “You paid five hundred dollars to wait in line with people dressed like the monsters you hunt?”
“It’s cosplay, Cas. They aren’t really monsters.”
Cas rolled his eyes, “I know that, Dean. I just think this is ridiculous.”
Dean smiled at Cas, “You’re jealous!”
Cas scoffed, “What do I have to be jealous of?”
“Oh, I don’t know, Cas, just that we’re only about five people away from meeting the most awesome superhero in the history of superheroes!”
“Dean, superheroes don’t impress me. I’m an Angel of the Lord, remember?”
“Yeah, but you can’t tell anyone you’re an angel. You can’t show off your powers the way supes can!”
Cas looked down at the picture Dean held in his hands, “She looks like one of the women on those websites you visit.”
“Cas! You can’t say that about Starlight!”
“I just did.”
“Cas, you don’t have to be jealous.” Dean winked at the angel, “She doesn’t have the equipment I’m interested in.”
Cas rolled his eyes again, “Not everything is about sex, Dean.”
Dean laughed, “Says who?”
“Dean, I just think this is a tremendous waste of time. We have a case we could be working. Sam is going to wonder where we went off to.”
“When Sam finds out that Starlight was in Lebanon, he’ll completely understand where I went off to.”
“Sam doesn’t like superheroes either.”
“All of Sam’s taste is in his mouth, Cas.” Dean playfully shook Cas by his shoulders, “This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, Cas! We get to meet a SUPE! Only criminals and people desperately needing a superhero’s help get that chance!”
Cas sighed, “Fine. I’ll stop complaining.”
Dean nuzzled Cas’ neck, “I’ll make it worth your while later on.”
Cas grumbled, “You’d better.”
When finally, it was Dean’s turn to get an autograph, Cas noticed his hands were shaking.
Starlight noticed too, and she took the photo out of his hand and then held onto his hand, “You don’t need to be nervous around me.” She gave him a million-watt smile.
Dean smiled back at her, “Oh, I’m not nervous, Starlight.” He winked at her, and she winked back.
“Who should I make this out to?”
“Your biggest fan, Dean Winchester.”
Cas rolled his eyes again and sighed loudly.
“And who’s your friend?”
“Oh, that’s Cas. He’s not really into this kind of thing.”
“Well, that’s too bad because he’s almost as handsome as you,” Starlight was laying it on thick, as she was trained to.
She signed Dean’s picture and winked at him again as she returned it to him. Looking over at Cas, she smiled, “How about you, Cas?”
“I could turn you into dust with a snap of my fingers,” Cas deadpanned.
“Cas!” Dean chastised him.
Starlight chuckled, “It’s okay. I get a lot of that from men.”
Cas glared at her, and someone from the convention center approached, “I’m sorry, but you’ve had your time with Starlight, and you need to move on.”
Cas snapped his fingers, and everyone in the convention center except for him, Dean, and Starlight froze in time.
“What the hell?” Starlight exclaimed. She stood up, ready to take on Cas, and he snapped his fingers again. She tried to move but was stuck in place.
“What did you do? WHO are you?”
“Cas, come on…” Dean shook his head, “Jealousy is not a good look on you.”
“You’d rather have a superhero than an angel, Dean,” Cas was clenching his jaw.
“That isn’t true, babe. I told you she has the wrong equipment!”
“You used to like her equipment!”
“And then I met YOU!”
“What the hell is going on?” Starlight demanded.
“My boyfriend gets jealous,” Dean explained. “Actually, it’s kind of cute.”
“I can’t move, and everyone else in this room has been turned into statues. That isn’t cute!”
“I told you, with one snap of my fingers, I can turn you to dust.”
“Who the hell are you?”
Cas’ eyes glowed an electric blue.
“Oh man, here we go,” Dean rolled his eyes.
Starlight couldn’t take her eyes off Cas, and she gasped as his wings sprouted from behind him and spread wider than Dean had ever seen them spread.
“Hey, how’d you do that?”
“You’re an…an angel?”
Cas retracted his wings, but his eyes still glowed, “I’m an angel.”
“Hey, Cas, this seems a little bit more than your usual angel powers,” Dean tilted his head, “What’s going on?”
“Dean, I was once God. Not to mention Lucifer using me as his vessel. I have some, let’s say, extra powers that I might have been hiding from you.”
Dean laughed, “Holy shit, Cas, that’s awesome!”
“You’re an angel, and God, and Lucifer?” Starlight was incredulous.
“Lady, I wouldn’t antagonize him. I’ve never seen him this powerful.”
Starlight rolled her eyes, “You forget I’m a supe.”
“You’re just a children’s toy,” Cas retorted.
“Okay, Cas, come on now. I got my autograph…” Dean looked over at Starlight, “I suppose a photo is out of the question now, huh?”
“Oh, you think? Your boyfriend has me frozen to this spot!”
Dean sighed, “Cas, let her go.”
“No.”
Dean was surprised at the angel’s response, “Castiel, let the lady go.”
Cas’ jaw was set, and his eyes were still glowing blue, “No, Dean. If I let her go, you’ll still want her.”
“I told you, Cas, I don’t want her. I just think she’s really cool!”
“You used to think I was cool.”
Dean laughed out loud, “Cas, I love you, but I never thought you were cool!”
This didn’t have the effect Dean was hoping for. Instead, it just made Cas angrier.
“If she isn’t here, you can’t want her anymore.”
“Cas, I…” Dean stopped himself, knowing arguing with Cas in this state was futile.
Suddenly, a small, evil smile crossed Cas’ lips, “But…I could give her to you without worrying about her being my replacement.”
“Cas, she could never replace you…wait, what do you mean GIVE her to me?”
“Yeah, what do you mean GIVE me to him?”
“I’ve discovered, Dean, that if I just think about something, I can make it happen.” Cas chuckled, “I just snapped my fingers to make it look good. But all I have to do is think about it, and it becomes real.”
Dean hesitated to ask, “So what are you thinking about, Cas?”
Cas pointed to the table next to Starlight’s autograph table. It was covered in boxed superhero action figures.
“I was thinking that I could make her what I said she was: a children’s toy. Then you could keep her, and I wouldn’t be worried about you wanting to have sex with her.”
“Cas, I’ve told you…”
“Dean, I can see into your mind. I know what your thoughts are at almost any given moment. When we walked into this room, and you saw Starlight, your first thought was the two of you in bed…”
Dean chuckled, “Come on, Cas, you know me…”
“I do, Dean. And I love you despite your many shortcomings. But this is one I can do something about.”
“You’re going to turn me into a doll.”
“They’re actually called action figures,” Dean smiled.
“Are you kidding me right now?” Starlight yelled at Dean, “Your crazy boyfriend is going to kill me, and you’re joking around?”
“I’m not going to kill you. You’ll be alert and completely aware of your surroundings. You just won’t be able to talk or move…oh, and you’ll only be eleven inches tall.”
“You’re insane!”
Dean pondered this, “Cas, this sounds kind of hot. I can think of plenty of things we could do with an eleven-inch piece of plastic.”
“You’re both out of your minds!”
“But, Cas, it’s kind of gruesome, right? I mean, eventually, she’ll die, and we’ll be stuck with her corpse. Her teeny, tiny corpse.”
“She won’t die. She’ll just…exist for as long as we want her to.”
“And she’ll know what’s going on?”
Cas nodded, “That’s my favorite part of this plan.”
“Cas, if you’ve had this kind of power, why haven’t you been using it? I can think of so many better things to use your God-Lucifer powers on than messing with a supe.”
“She has a hold over you, Dean. Using my powers to break that hold is putting them to good use.”
“Cas, I had no idea you were so bananas jealous,” Dean smiled.
Cas shrugged, “I don’t want you to be with anyone else, Dean, ever. Not even in your imagination.”
“So cut his dick off and leave me alone,” Starlight yelled.
“I’ve had enough of you.” Cas snapped his fingers, and Starlight disappeared. In her stead was an eleven-inch plastic version of her that Dean immediately picked up and shoved in his jacket pocket.
“She can’t talk or move?” he asked Cas.
“No. And she’ll know everything happening around her…or to her.”
“Well then, Cas, I think it’s time we blow this place and bring her back to the bunker. I have another toy to add to our collection!”
Cas smiled, “I’m glad you see things my way, Dean.”
Dean quickly kissed Cas, “Angel, if I didn’t, I’m afraid you’d turn me into a Ken doll!”
