“I’ve been wondering... why do you always wear a mask?”
The question catches Mayor off-guard, but he quickly switches his face back to a neutral expression, thinking of a response. “Well... it’s something personal to me, but I don’t see the harm in sharing.”
Kris blinks, then shrugs. “You don’t have to tell me, I was just curious.”
“No, I want to,” Mayor says with a hum, and pulls down his mask.
There’s three jagged yet faded scars running down his cheek, and while Kris seems a little surprised, xe doesn’t seem scared. That’s good , He thinks.
“Sick,” Is all xe says, with that goofy grin Mayor has always loved xem for.
“Thanks, dad.”
