Chapter Text
“Take it easy. You’re doing great. It’s going to feel a little weird but trust me. You’re alright.” The words flooded in as a magnetic automaton lay on an operating table. The automaton, built female in figure, was being disguised after a premonition took place. What had been a red-eyed, purple haired girl now had white hair with rainbow highlights hidden inside. Her red eyes had to stay the same, as did the fact that she had three different colored Matters running through her systems. The girl’s usual dark colored attire was also changed out for something completely opposite: white with rainbow glitter and more feminine. The sleeves were long, so her magnetic joints were hidden, and her programming was simply disguised so her usually pessimistic attitude became optimistic and bubbly. All that was needed now was a new name. “SAM? I’m going to power you on. Okay?” The newly disguised automaton soon awoke at the sound of that voice. A man’s voice, she recalled. SAM, as she was originally named, looked around and laid her gaze on a human man with a keyhole mask on his face.
“Welcome back,” he said. Gently she stood up and looked around. It all looked the same to her as it had before, except the building had since repaired itself from the fire that took place the night before. “Fascinating place,” she said with a smile, returning to glance at the man. “This is Walter Manor. You’ve lived here for quite some time,” he reminded her. “Right. I do remember that” she acknowledges with a giggle, “I haven’t fully lost my memory, Peter.” The man, Peter Walter VI, nodded, “I see that. You do need to have another name though.” He paced the room, as she held up a reflective prism to the rising sunlight. “I’ve got it. Claret!” he exclaimed. At that, she turned to him. “Claret,” she murmured, before nodding in agreement. The aptly renamed Claret returned to what was her room as Peter informed the countless residents that Claret was a disguise for SAM and that she was not to leave the Manor under any circumstances. Fortunately, despite all other antics that frequent this establishment, her secret was kept safe for over a year. No one foresaw though that this upcoming special event would bring about the lighting of past fires, believed to have been long extinguished.
