You’d think two teen speedsters would know not to bring feelings and feuds onto a mission.
You’d be wrong.
Wallace winced as Grodd threw Bart into the wall.
Okay. This is kind of their fault. Wallace and Bart had different approaches to dealing with Grodd.
Their arguing brought the attention of Grodd—or maybe it was the angry thoughts they were directing at each other.
This is made even worse that civilians are mind controlled to fight Wallace, Bart, and—
Irey rushed to Grodd and the speed force pulled Jai with her, who prepared to attack the villain.
Wallace was starting to get overwhelmed by all the innocent people who were trying to kill him.
Wallace watched in horrific slow motion as Irey threw Jai at Grodd—a move the twins have perfected over the months—and missed.
Irey moved to run to catch Jai but the villain directed his eyes to the speedster. She stops and stares.
Uh oh.
Jai hits the ground hard.
“Hello, dear.” Grodd said. “Why don’t you attack those rude family members.”
Irey struggled against his commands but couldn’t move to help Jai either.
“Oh? If you’re not going to be nice, neither am I.”
Wallace hasn’t heard Irey scream in real pain before. Sure, she’s been frustrated with homework and happy about music, but this. This is going to haunt his nightmares.
Wallace makes eye contact with Bart. Grodd is focusing all his power on Irey, leaving himself open to an attack.
Finally, the cousins were in agreement. The villain didn’t stand a chance.
Jai got up and was going to his sister.
Irey’s eyes were shut tight.
Bart and Wallace came over after tying up Grodd as Irey slowly opened her eyes.
Jai put three fingers in her vision. “How many fingers am I holding up?”
“Six.” She said after a long pause.
All 3 of their eyes widened before Irey’s started laughing.
“That is not funny!” Jai said as he helped her up.
“Come on. It’s fine. Although mom is going to be pretty upset we fought Grodd without dad.”
Wallace and Bart shared a panicked glance.
Linda was going to kill them.
