Autumn. What a wonder season it was. A pretty mix of warm colors yet it had the chilly sensation you felt when it was winter. That chilly breeze that crept up your back, but you knew it was going to be a nice day because of all the warm colors around you.
That is what Tangle wanted to experience. Well, mostly messing around in the fallen leaves, but that too. Tangle got up bright and early like she always does, did her daily joy and got herself ready for the day.
She tried to wear her usual outfit, but Jewel was having none of that. It was chilly out and of course, Jewel made her wear a outfit made perfect for this occasion. It had all her normal colors of her usual fit, but just in the form of a jacket and pants. She even gave her some gloves and a beanie if she so choose to wear it.
Now with that out of the way, she could enjoy this wonderful autumn occasion! She had almost everything she wanted.
“Almost” everything.
All she was missing now was to find Whisper and see if she wanted to spend some time together and soak in the beautiful autumn weather.. and to see if she wanted to mess around with leaves.
So the little quest to find the wolf was on. It shouldn’t be too hard. Whisper was quite sneaky and elusive at times, but this was no problem for Tangle! She could easily find the wolf even without trying.
This time, however, it was a lot harder to find Whisper.
She looked everywhere for her. She looked all around her hometown to see if she was anywhere nearby, maybe camping a little distance away. She looked all around restoration and bugged everyone there to the point Lanolin picked her up and placed her outside. (Though Tangle could easily just walk back inside since she lived there.) She even checked spots that Whisper thought Tangle didn’t know! At last, the wolf was not found.
Tangle being stumbled, decided to just go back to restoration and call her little autumn adventure off for the day. She was so looking forward to spending today with Whisper. Maybe she just needed her usual space? Then again Whisper would have told her otherwise so she wouldn’t go looking for her.
Tangle sat down at a nearby chair and slumped in it with a little disappointment showing on her face.
However, Jewel and Lanolin happened to walk by after Jewel also forced Lanolin to wear some fall attire because of how chilly it was outside. They noticed the sad lemur and decided to ask what was up.
“I can’t find Whisper. I practically searched everywhere for her yet I can’t find her anywhere.” Tangle slumped even further down the chair where she basically was almost falling off of it.
“I’m sure she’ll show up eventually. You know how Whisper can be at times so maybe she just needed some space.” Jewel smiled at her friend to reassure her.
“Yeah I agree with Jewel I’m sure she’s around somewhere.”
“Yeah she probably is around, but she would have told me! She usually does so I don’t rip the whole place apart looking for her..”
“Well, maybe you go can double check again? I’m sure she might be around restoration actually since it’s not that possible to sneak your way in and out of here without someone noticing you.”
“Yeah that’s probably a good idea thanks Lanolin!”
Tangle quickly got up from her chair and sprinted around restoration a second time to find Whisper. This time she checked their share room to see if she was there. She probably wasn’t since she didn’t notice her there this morning which was strange.
Tangle was always the first one up during the morning. Whisper was never a morning person anyways and always liked sleeping in late. Was Whisper really still in the room? No.. she couldn’t be.. she would have notice!
Tangle opened the door to their room and looked around. The room wasn’t that big, but there was no harm in checking.
No sign of Whisper. She wasn’t here after all was what Tangle thought before she looked at the bed. There was a fluffy little biscotti color tail peaking out from under the blankets.
Whisper was still in bed.
Tangle for the most part couldn’t believe she was still in bed. What was she still doing in bed? Was she that tired? Was something wrong? Whatever the reason was she had to check up on her.
Tangle slowly walked up to Whisper and tabbed her to see if she was alright. (Not that it would work if she was sleeping..)
Tangle tabbed her a few more times before slowly removing the blanket off of her to see a very obvious changed. Whisper’s fur was puffy and very fluffy. She looked like a big teddy bear.
Tangle overloaded by cuteness and questions only just stood there totally blank as she proceed what was going on.
She was soon interrupted by the sound of Whisper waking up.
“Oh shoot, my bad Whisper! Didn’t mean to wake you up. Was trying to find where you were and well here you are hah-“
Whisper didn’t say anything. Only stared at Tangle even if Tangle herself couldn’t actually tell if she was staring. The wolf’s eyes were close and well.. her eyes were usually close also.
“So.. uhm.. you got.. uhm your fur seemed to have changed.. is that normal?”
Whisper looked at herself and back at Tangle before nodding. Tangle was at a lost of words really. Whisper looked cute and all with his fluffy she looked, but how and why was she fluffy?
“So…. Is this like a fall thing or..”
“Winter coat. Grows at the start of every autumn.”
“Ohh ok ok.. that makes sense.”
Tangle just stood there staring at Whisper as Whisper stared backed at Tangle.
“Can I like.. cuddle you?”
Whisper didn’t say anything. She only stared at Tangle for a few more minutes before nodding that she could in fact cuddle with her.
Tangle soon crawled back into bed with Whisper and cuddle her tightly yet gently. She liked this winter coat that she grew. She didn’t know how and why this is possible, but who cares really because Tangle sure didn’t. She was just glad she got to cuddle with her fluffy friend.
