Chapter Text
After battling with both the Daleks and Cyberman, Rose Tyler had been transported to a parallel universe alongside her mother and Mickey. A universe where her father was still alive. And even though the two were a universe apart, the Doctor was able to have one final chance to speak to her. Using the energy from a supernova to send a hologram to her world. However, their talk was ending.
Rose: Am I ever gonna see you again?
Doctor: You can’t
Rose: What are you going to do?
Doctor: I’ve got the tardis. Same old life. Last of the Time Lords.
Rose: On your own.
The Doctor simply nodded.
Rose: I…
Rose struggled to say one final thing to the Doctor, the realisation that they will never be able to see each other again was unbearable for her.
Rose: I love you.
Doctor: Quite right too. And I suppose… if it’s my last chance to say it… Rose Tyler…
Before he could finish that sentence, their time was up. In less than a second the hologram disappeared. The Doctor and Rose Tyler’s final moments together. The Doctor was now alone, no one to be with for the upcoming adventures. He began to walk around the console of his trusty tardis, the one thing left from his home world after it was destroyed. Sometimes, life can be unfair but for the Doctor, it would seem life was throwing every possible worst case scenario at him. Last of the Time Lords, a sonic screwdriver and tardis to keep him company and now the loss of a friend, one of many over his many regenerations. This was his 10th.
But again, life had its own plans for him. As the supernova calmed down, unannounced to him, a wormhole had opened up nearby. A natural phenomenon so rare that it’s practically impossible. The tardis got trapped in its gravitation field which sent violent shakes throughout the interior. The Doctor was caught off guard by this sudden event.
Doctor: Oh what now!?
He tried his best to steer the tardis away from the pull but it was no use, the field was too strong for the tardis to push out of. To make things worse, something had messed up the circuits of the tardis, it was no longer responsive.
Doctor: Oh come on, of all the times to do this you do it now?
There was another massive jolt. It sent the doctor flying and he was knocked unconscious. Now the tardis was drifting through an unknown area of space with nothing to stop it. It wouldn’t be long until it eventually crash lands on a planet if there ever happens to be one to cross its path. Which there was. On the horizon was a bright blue planet with green and white specks. A planet known by many as Earth.

After a while the Doctor finally regained consciousness. He looked around to get his bearings. Still in the tardis and from the looks of it, completely immobilised. The time rotor was not moving and many of the lights that usually flood the interior were disabled. The only remaining light was from the console.
Doctor: That doesn’t look good.
The Doctor picked himself up and went over to the console to see if there was any damage report of some sort. Nothing came up. That’s when he noticed himself. He had thick brown fur covering him from head to toe, four fingers instead of five, a snout with a darker patch of brown fur, floppy ears and a tail. Whether this was a regeneration or some other weird phenomena he did not know. It didn’t feel like a regeneration but then again, even Time Lords don’t understand Time Lords.
Doctor: Hm, that’s different.
He went to the closet room to see himself in the mirror, his clothing, except for his iconic tuxedo and tie, had completely disappeared.
Doctor: Eh, it doesn’t look too bad. I think I could get used to this.
He went back to the main console room, the display panel had come back online. It would seem that all the systems were rebooting themselves one by one. Next was the sensors and time rotor which had begun to move again, the accompanying light in the interior and the exterior lights had come back on as well. This was enough for him to do a scan of his current area, results came back in just a few seconds. The display showed a familiar looking solar system and even showed the tardis trajectory which was heading for the third planet.
Doctor: Huh, would you look at that, heading straight for earth. Let's see if the comms work.
The Doctor fiddled around with some buttons and levers and to his surprise indeed the communication system was back up and running. He recorded a message that would be sent down to earth to be picked up by UNIT or something of the likes.
Doctor: Okay, that should be on now. *ahem* If you can hear this, this is the doctor. I am stuck inside a semi-functional tardis. I seemed to have gone through something that knocked out most of the tardis systems. They have slowly come back online but I still have no control over it. Luckily, I appear to be drifting towards earth and would likely crash land in…
He took a second to calculate a rough landing location
Doctor: somewhere around the bottom right of Australia. Lucky me, don’t think I’ve been there yet. Would be funny if I landed in someone's backyard. I mean, it’s either that or in the middle of the sea. The latter I do not want. Anyway, if anyone does pick up this message, either it be UNIT or Torchwood or some random individual, don’t make a fuss about this alright? It’s not some asteroid about to crash into the ocean, it’s a random bloke with a broken time machine.
He sent the message as an audio recording as it was simpler to send. Best for semi-emergency cases like this. As for how long it would take for the tardis to become fully operational, possibly a few minutes. Maybe longer. And time before impact is around 3 minutes according to the tardis computer.
With nothing else to do, the doctor sat down on one of the chairs and began to doze off yet again.
On ground level, people were settling down for the night. In a cul-de-sac, somewhere in Brisbane, there was nothing but silence until the low rumble of a falling tardis faded in and ended with a loud explosive crash as the tardis landed just on the far corner of a backyard. That backyard happens to belong to a house of four.
