Greatest treasure
Marco the Phoenix Whitebeard 1st division commander and his First Mate was making a hole on the ground in front of the ship's hospital.
He flinched for the who knows how many times in the last hour at hearing the screams on the other side of the door.
His brothers some of the world's strongest men did the same thing because no matter how strong they were the sound of someone giving birth scared the shit out of everyone.
Marco still remembered the day they had discovered that Ace was pregnant everyone even Marco had been shocked when they had learned that.
According to the doctors, because Ace's mother had been pregnant with him for a year, he had developed the ability to get pregnant.
By that time, they had been together for three years and while the revelation had been shocking, they were both happy with that change in their life.
But no one had been happier about the new addition to the family than Whitebeard himself the man feared by most had been as happy as a child at the prospect of having a grandchild.
Another scream ripped through the air and the blue-eyed man flinched again and for the first time in who knows how long sat down.
"Come down son," said Whitebeard looking at his oldest son who had been going through a lot over the past nine months being as worried as he was about his lover. "They are both going to be fine."
"What if they aren't' if something happens to Ace, I don't think I can live without him Pops." for the first time in longer than he could remember Marco was very worried about the outcome of something because he couldn't control what was going to happen
"Everything will be fine Marco." said the old man" Ace is stronger than you give him credit for right now nothing is going to happen to him."
While the old man's words were reassuring more than the blue-eyed man was willing to admit he could see that his captain and father were worried too after all the man on the other side of the door wasn't only Marco's lover but also Whitebeard's youngest son.
They weren't the only ones who were worried though not the entire Whitebeard fleet from the other commanders to the lowest member was extremely worried even though they would never admit it in front of Marco seeing how he was at the moment.
Everyone just stopped like someone had the ability to control time and had frozen everyone in their place the moment the doors opened and the doctor came out of the room. No one dared to breathe afraid of what the man was going to tell them they just looked at the man who for the past several hours held in his hands, the life of not one but two of their crew members after all the baby may not have been born until this very second but he or she was a member of the family all the same.
"How are they?" asked all the commanders at the same time and if the doctor hadn't known what they wanted to know he wouldn't have understood it.
The doctor smiled easing their worries a bit and said turning to the First commander knowing that he was the one that needed to listen to this the most" Well Commander Marco you have a beautiful baby boy with the most impressive set of lungs, I have ever seen."
Not believing it for a moment still in a daze at the news that he had just heard the Phoenix had to ask one more time just to be sure that he had heard what he thought he had heard" Can you repeat that one more time?"
Chuckling the doctor patiently said again the words he knew the man wanted to hear" You have a beautiful baby boy."
As soon as he had said that the other members of the crew started cheering and congratulation their brother on the great news.
The old doctor, knowing the crew members like he did, decided to put his foot down before they tried and do what they wanted.
"All right now I want all of you to listen to me very carefully because I won't repeat myself again," said the man looking at the commanders and crewmembers in the eye" The only people allowed right now in Commander Ace's room are Commander Marco and Pops no one else."
"But." said the other crew members at the same time every one of them wanted to see the newest member of their crew
"No buts." said the doctor putting his foot down, after all, they may be the strongest pirate crew in the world but even they listen to their doctors and nurses well except for Pops
Sighing in defeat and knowing that Pops wouldn't support them he listened to the doctors when it came to everyone except himself and they didn't want to cause Ace more stress than he had already gone through after all he had just given birth and from what they had heard it wasn't the nicest thing to go through.
"All right," said Izo knowing that they wouldn't win no matter how much they wanted to see their newest member
Turning to his older brother and making sure to glare to get his point across he said" Tell Ace that I'm so happy they are both okay and that I will see them as soon as I'm allowed to do that."
Nodding the Phoenix agreed, after all, they all knew to never piss Izo off if they wanted to live the only person who could do that was Ace seeing as the 16th division commander had a weak spot for the fire user.
Taking a deep breath, the blond man walked into the room now that the fact that both his lover and son were okay had settled into his head, he realized that he was apprehensive about the kind of father he would become.
"You will do great Marco," said Whitebeard looking at his oldest son
Marco didn't even ask how his father had realized he was worried after knowing the man for as many years as he had stopped asking questions.
"What if I am not," said Marco clearly worried" Ace is only twenty he should be out there meeting people and having fun not being stuck with an old man." he sometimes hated himself for giving in to his love for Ace when he thought Ace deserved someone so much better than him
"You will be a great father Marco and Ace loves you and nothing is going to change that as I said you don't have anything to worry about." said the older man
Before the Phoenix could answer his father opened the door that hid the love of his life and new son the moment, he saw them Marco's breathing stopped for what seemed like years but it was only a few seconds.
They were both so, so beautiful.
Ace was lying on a bed close to the open window with the sun shining onto him making him look even more beautiful than Marco had ever seen him before.
On his arms, there was a small bundle wrapped up with a pale blue blanket with the Whitebeard crest a present from Izo the commander of the 16th division had wanted to be prepared and had to make one for each gender.
"Hi," said Marco's eyes focused on the two people on the bed for the second time in his life, he fell in love at first sight
"Marco, Pops." the young pirate said "Meet the newest member of the Whitebeard pirates Asahi."
"You did a very good job son." said the older man looking at his grandson and then asked slightly unsure" Can I hold him?"
The younger man chuckled and said" Of course Pops." putting the little baby in his father's arms he smiled when he saw the look of pure love on the older man's face
Getting out of bed despite the protests of the others the fire user said" Come on we need to allow the others to meet him too or neither I nor Asahi will be able to sleep today."
Knowing that it was true the others agreed with the strongest man on Earth carrying his grandson and Marco helping his love outside on the deck of the ship.
The moment everyone saw them they started cheering everyone waiting to be the first ones to see their new nephew, of course, it was expected Thatch, Haruta, and Izo would win and be the first to get a good look at the baby boy.
"My children." said Whitebeard making everyone stop what they were doing" Meet our new member Asahi."
Again, everyone cheered when their father said the name of their new member.
It took hours for the new parents to go towards their room with their baby the moment Ace's head met his pillow he was asleep his lover, on the other hand, spent the remainder of the night holding his son and looking at the love of his life as he slept.
"I will do anything to protect both of you.” said the blond
