Chapter Text
‘This day is just great’ I thought sarcastically.
First a friend of mine gets kidnapped, and I have to go save him as usual. That was a lot harder than it should have been, stupid AIM and Hydra working together. While I was rescuing him, I kept getting calls from Gibbs. All sounding urgent and something about a bomb. Eventually I rescue my friend and bring him back to Avengers Tower to be looked over for any serious injuries. By the time this has happened it's been about five minutes. Five minutes too long.
“Sorry Cap, I got to go, it’s important” I exclaim while opening up a portal to the NCIS headquarters.
I didn’t wait to see if he would say anything. Once on the other side of the portal, I took stock of what's happening, scanning my surroundings. I see everyone running out of the building, getting as far away from it as they can. I see Gibbs run back into the building, and also notice that Abby is still in her lab. Mcgee was also still in the building, several floors up. That's when I saw what looked to be the Director’s car parked in front of the building, right in front of Abby’s lab. There was a guy doing something in the back. As I got closer I realized it was a bomb that the guy was trying to defuse. There was only a few seconds left until it went off. I knew it was futile to try to disarm it. I quickly swooped down, grabbing the man and depositing him a safe distance away. Then headed towards the floor that Mcgee was still on, crashing through one of the windows, and knocking Mcgee to the ground, throwing my body on top of him to protect him from the blast and any debris. It was at the same time that I crashed through the window, the bomb went off, and the world went black.
