Kiss Me, Kiss Me Not

Summary:

As he stopped, Mitsuru leaned forward and tilted his head up, pursing his lips in the process. Tomoya gave a quick look around, saw no one, blushed and leaned in giving Mitsuru a quick kiss on the lips.

Mitsuru is constantly asking Tomoya to kiss him and, while he's not against it, he isn't sure how he feels about it.

Notes:

I'm not sure exactly what this is but I thought it would be fun to have Mitsuru constantly ask for kisses and Tomoya to give them to him all the time. I hope you enjoy.

Work Text:

Peeking around the corner, Tomoya carefully scanned around making sure the way was clear before he continued. Dashing quickly across the yard he thought that if he could make it to the door then he could at least escape into his room and be safe there for a little bit. Halfway towards the door he heard a rustling near him as a loud “Tomo-chan!” echoed across the yard. Tomoya’s heart simultaneously fluttered and dropped at the same time. Slowing down to a stop, he sighed as he waited for Mitsuru to catch up.

“Why were you running Tomo-chan? Did you want to dash around?” Mitsuru called out as he stopped next to Tomoya.

As he stopped, Mitsuru leaned forward and tilted his head up, pursing his lips in the process. Tomoya gave a quick look around, saw no one, blushed and leaned in giving Mitsuru a quick kiss on the lips. Mitsuru opened his eyes and smiled wide. Tomoya blushed even deeper. Even though they had been dating for over a month now, this waiting for a kiss thing was recent. Mitsuru just suddenly one day, out of nowhere, came up to him and stood there with his lips out. Tomoya wasn’t sure what to do so he just stared at him. After a minute Mitsuru opened his eyes and, with an annoyed looked on his face, whined “Tomo-chan, this is the part where you’re supposed to kiss me!”

Tomoya reeled back, his face an explosion of red. “Kiss you??? Here? In public?”

Mitsuru either didn’t realize, or didn’t care, that they were in public, he just kept insisting for a kiss. To avoid a fuss, and certainly not because he wanted to kiss Mitsuru and feel his soft warm lips against his, he relented and kissed him. And after that it just became a thing every time they met up. Mitsuru would stand there ready and Tomoya would give him a kiss.

“Mitsuru, again in public? What did I tell you?” Tomoya chided him, trying to be angry but failing.

“But I love getting kisses from you Tomo-chan.”

“Well, as long as no one is around I guess it’s fine.”

“Yeah!” Mitsuru cheered.

“Tomo-chan, if you weren’t dashing for fun, where were you dashing too?” Mitsuru asked.

Darn, Tomoya was hoping Mitsuru would forget.

“I was just heading to my room since I was done for the day. I was planning to, uh, study for our upcoming test. ” Tomoya hoped that might discourage Mitsuru from coming with him.

Mitsuru frowned, softly grabbing Tomoya’s hand. “Does that mean I can’t come with you?”

All it took was looking at Mitsuru for Tomoya to break. “Well…I guess you can come too. It’s a little boring studying alone.”

Mitsuru jumped, still holding Tomoya’s hand. “Yeah! I love Tomo-chan’s room.”

Tomoya’s heart skipped a beat. He admired how forward Mitsuru was with what he wanted, even if it did get him and others into trouble sometimes. Tomoya smiled as he and Mitsuru walked hand in hand towards his room.

—————

Walking towards his room Tomoya was happy, even if he originally wasn’t planning for this to happen. He loved spending time with Mitsuru so he was glad he asked to come. Even if the constant kissing was a little overwhelming sometimes, he couldn’t ever be mad at Mitsuru for it.

As they reached his door, unlocking it quickly, he called out “Mayoi, you there?”

Receiving no response, and not feeling a presence from the usual spot in the ceiling, Tomoya assumed Mayoi was out somewhere. Closing the door behind him he motioned towards his bed. Mitsuru threw himself face first onto the bed, landing with a thump.

“It smells just like you Tomo-chan.”

Tomoya blushed.

Joining Mitsuru on the bed Tomoya just looked at him, smiling. He was so cute. Mitsuru tilted his head, seemingly confused.

“Weren’t you going to study Tomo-chan?” Tomoya shook his head for a moment before realizing that was what he had said earlier.

“Of course. I was just grabbing this book first.” Tomoya said as he grabbed a book from his nightstand, not really sure which one it was but assuming that it would be fine.

“I’m going to go sit on the couch and you can stay over here Mitsuru. Ok?” Mitsuru beamed.

“Ok. Good luck Tomo-chan.” Tomoya smiled and walked over to the couch, sitting down and opening the book he grabbed.

It turned out he picked up a book on English, which was something he actually needed to study. After a few minutes Tomoya heard rustling behind him on his bed. Turning around it looked like Mitsuru was fidgeting on his bed. He looked bored but also like he was trying really hard not to disturb Tomoya. That was really cute of him, Tomoya thought. He was trying so hard to be courteous to Tomoya even if he really wanted to talk to him.

Feeling a bit sorry for him Tomoya called out to him. “Do you want to come over here and study with me?”

Mitsuru leaped up before quickly sitting back down. “Are you sure I won’t bother you?”

Tomoya smiled. “Of course not. I did say studying alone was boring right.”

Mitsuru raced over to the couch, almost collapsing on to Tomoya in the process.

“What are we studying?” Mitsuru asked.

“English.”

Mitsuru blanched.

Tomoya chuckled. “Why don’t we make it a game then?”

Mitsuru looked puzzled.

“I’ll ask you a question and if you get it right you get a prize.”

“What’s the prize?” Mitsuru asked.

“Umm…” Tomoya was drawing a blank as he hadn’t really planned this far ahead.

“A kiss!”

“What?”

“Every time I get a question right you have to give me a kiss.” Mitsuru said, smug smile on his face.

Tomoya was speechless for a second before quickly giving in. “Fine. Every time you get a question right I’ll give you a kiss.”

“Yeah! Tomo-chan’s kisses are the best.”

Tomoya brought the book up, trying his best to hide his blush.

“First question. Repeat after me. ‘My birthday is tomorrow.’”

Mitsuru thought about it for a few seconds. “My birthday is tomorrow.”

“Correct! Good job.”

Mitsuru leaned forward.

Tomoya, not willing to back out of his promise, leaned forward and gave him a kiss.

Composing himself Tomoya continued. “Second question. ‘How old are you today?’”

“I am…16 years old today.”

Tomoya shook his head. “That’s not right. You are 17 years old today.”

Mitsuru frowned. “Can I still get a kiss?”

“But you didn’t get the question right.”

“It’s an…encouragement kiss. So I can do better next time.” Mitsuru tilted his head forward like always, ready for the kiss.

Tomoya was conflicted but didn’t want to go against the rules of the game.

After a few seconds Mitsuru opened one eye and said. “Tomoya, please?”

Tomoya’s heart almost exploded from hearing Mitsuru use his full name.

“Fine, I guess just this once.” Tomoya says, trying to keep as calm as possible but on the edge of just bowling over Mitsuru right there.

“Third question. 'How much do you love me?’”

It took Mitsuru a few seconds to think about it before his whole faced became one big smile. “I love Tomo-chan so much!”

“Correct.”

This time Mitsuru didn’t wait and jumped onto Tomoya, knocking him flat onto the couch. Tomoya was about to complain but as soon as he felt Mitsuru’s lips on his it died in his throat. Mitsuru’s lips quickly touched his but then lifted off just as quickly before it felt like he was being peppered with kisses all over his face. It was a constant barrage of quick kisses all over. Tomoya started to laugh and playfully shove at Mitsuru.

“Mitsuru, Mitsuru, Mitsuru. Hold on for a moment.”

It took a bit more shoving but Mitsuru eventually pulled back, allowing Tomoya to right himself and sit up straight.

“What is it Tomo-chan? Did you not like it?” Mitsuru’s had a slight frown and Tomoya shuddered.

He was so sneaky. Tomoya bet he was doing it on purpose.

“You can’t just attack me all the time. You gotta do it slowly and carefully.”

“Can you show me how then?” Mitsuru asked, innocence sparkling in his eyes.

Tomoya took a deep breath, closing his eyes and trying to calm himself down. He had to be the responsible one here.

“Ok. First, you have to go in slowly and carefully.” Tomoya whispered as he leaned into Mitsuru and almost met his lips.

“Second, you have to make sure you match up just right.” Tomoya, nearly inaudible, said as he gently met Mitsuru’s lips with his.

Unlike before, Tomoya took his time and slowly built up the pace. He could feel Mitsuru squirm a little beneath him so he grabbed his hand to reassure him. He gradually increased the pace as the time passed, not too fast but not too slow, feeling as Mitsuru loosened up against him. Tomoya gradually pushed forward on Mitsuru until his back hit the couch, Tomoya now the one on top this time. Beginning to feel light headed, Tomoya broke away, gasping as he breathed in.

“You’re a good teacher Tomoya.” Tomoya blushed.

“Now it’s my turn to practice what I learned.” Mitsuru whispered head reaching back up to Tomoya.

—————

“Bye Tomo-chan! I’ll see you tomorrow.” Mitsuru waved as he closed the door.

Tomoya stood up from the couch and walked over to his bed, flopping face down into his pillow. He sighed. Was that too much? He didn’t mean to kiss Mitsuru that much. He was trying to be responsible and controlled and not kiss him all the time. It’s not his fault that Mitsuru is a trickster and very cute. What if Mitsuru thinks that’s what they do know? What if decided to do that in public?

Tomoya pressed the pillow down on his face for a second before letting up. Maybe he should talk to someone else about this. He wasn’t sure if all this kissing was normal or too much or what. But who should he talk to? Obviously he couldn’t talk to Hajime or Ni-chan. That would be way too embarrassing. They also wouldn’t be objective since they were in the same unit. And he couldn’t talk to Hibiki either because he wouldn’t get a clear answer out of him. He’d have to think about who he could talk to that would be able to give him a good answer.

But that would have to wait until tomorrow.

—————

Tomoya knew Mitsuru was busy today with a job so he could walk around without checking around corners. He had decided who he would talk to. Now he just had to meet with them. Walking into Cafe Cinnamon, Tomoya quickly found the people he was looking for.

“Good morning, Takamine and Nagumo.”

“Good morning, Mashiro. What’s wrong? You said you had a problem and you needed our advice. Though I’m not sure I can help. I’m not great at this stuff.” Takamine said.

“It’s a hero’s job to help all those in need, especially friends.” Nagumo said, pumping his fist.

Tomoya paused as he sat down. “The first thing you need to know is that Mitsuru and I are dating.” T

akamine nodded while Nagumo blinked.

“You’re dating? Since when?” Nagumo almost yelled.

Tomoya motioned for him to quiet down. “Not too long ago. Over a month now. Almost two.”

“How have you not noticed them kissing all over the place? It makes me tired just watching them.” Takamine asked Nagumo.

“You’ve seen that?” Tomoya interrupted with a high pitched whine.

“You two aren’t very stealthy about it. That’s something I could never do. It would make me stand out too much.” Takamine replied as he slumped in his booth.

Tomoya was freaking out. He knew that people could see them but to know people had seen them was something all together different and much much worse.

“What’s the problem we could help you with?” Nagumo asked.

Tomoya breathed in to refocus himself.

“As Takamine said, recently Mitsuru has been asking me to kiss him a lot, and sometimes in public too. And I’m not sure if it’s too much or it’s normal or what. Yesterday we kissed a lot and it’s not like I didn’t want to but also I don’t know if we should do it so much or if it’s a problem.” Tomoya finished with a big breath in as he had said that all in one breath.

“That’s rough Mashiro.” Takamine said with a sigh.

“You’re braver than me doing that in public.” Nagumo replied.

“But what should I do?” Tomoya asked, a little exasperated.

“Do you like it?” Takamine asked.

Tomoya wrung his hands together. “Yeah, it’s really nice and I don’t want to stop doing it. But I don’t know.”

“Both the Chief and Morisawa have said that the only way to solve a problem is by confronting it, like a true hero. So that’s what you have to do Mashiro.” Nagumo assured him.

“As much as I hate to agree with anything Morisawa says, Tetora is right about that. You have to talk to him or you won’t know his true feelings.”

Tomoya tried to find something wrong with what they said, but couldn’t.

“Thank you both for the help” is all Tomoya could say in response.

“Of course! A hero’s job is to help all those in need.” Nagumo said.

Takamine only nodded, as if he was as conflicted as Tomoya about something.

Tomoya was only able to nod back as he bemoaned his fate.

—————

It was the following day and Tomoya had asked Mitsuru to meet him in a park close by the ES dorms so that they could talk. Arriving early, as usual, Tomoya found the most secluded bench he could and took a seat, waiting for Mitsuru to join him. The entire time thoughts were rolling around in his head about how he was going to ask the question and even if he should still. He was so consumed by his own thoughts that he didn’t even realize Mitsuru had shown up.

As had become usual, Mitsuru was there waiting for his kiss. Almost involuntarily Tomoya stood up and gave Mitsuru his kiss like usual. Immediately after Tomoya paused, stunned that he had so casually done what he had come exactly here to talk to Mitsuru about. He began to admonish himself before being interrupted by Mitsuru.

“Tomo-chan, what did you want to talk about?” Mitsuru asked, grabbing Tomoya’s hand and sitting down on the bench.

“Mitsuru, why do you ask for me to kiss you all the time?”

“Because Tomo-chan gives the best kisses.” Mitsuru smiled, the picture of innocence.

Tomoya was tempted to give up but he had to stay strong and get an answer.

“What makes you want to kiss me all the time?” Tomoya asked.

Mitsuru paused and seemed to think about this question for a few seconds. “Because whenever I see you I want to kiss because it feels good. Is that bad?”

Tomoya ignored the look on Mitsuru’s face that he knew would distract him. “Not all the time. But what about in public? Are you worried about other people seeing us?”

“Why would I be worried?”

“Aren’t you worried they’ll say stuff about us?”

“Like what?”

Tomoya struggled to stay calm even though he had no idea why he was getting stressed in the first place. “What if they said it was weird or something?”

“Do you think it’s weird Tomo-chan?”

“No, but…”

“Then what’s the problem?” Mitsuru interrupted him to say.

Tomoya paused upon hearing that. What was the problem? Why did he care about what other people thought? Mitsuru was his boyfriend and they like each other and shouldn’t matter what other people thought, right?

“…Do you really not care what other people think?” Tomoya whispered, head dipping down to rest on Mitsuru’s shoulder.

Mitsuru shook his head. “You’re my boyfriend so that’s the only person that I worry about.”

Tomoya lifted his head slightly so he could look at Mitsuru’s face. “I love you.”

Mitsuru burst into a wide smile. “I love you too Tomo-chan!”

He followed it up with a kiss. Tomoya laughed and thought it was just like Mitsuru to be simple and straightforward. That’s what he loved about him after all. He returned a kiss, without a care of who could see him.

It was warm and soft like usual.
