(Clears throat) Hmm… This looks like a good statement to start with. Statement number 043481, of Lokki, regarding a curious stray cat he adopted. Originally transcribed 10 th of December, XXXX. Statement begin.

[FAI (STATEMENT)]

I work as a receptionist at a doctor’s clinic. Nothing weird here, that’s for sure. I’m just an ordinary person who just seems to be keen with reading people, and people always say I have a big heart. Why wouldn’t I? I would never hurt a fly. They don’t deserve that kind of treatment. Another thing you should know is that I am a big animal person, but unfortunately allergic to both cats and dogs, which really sucks.

One day when I was walking home, I saw a stray cat down an alley, so I did what any good person would do, and I gave him some food. I kept doing that for a week until one day, he followed me home. I didn’t realise it until I reached my front door. And then he… He spoke .

He asked me for food, and I was so taken aback that I fell. The cat got onto me and then I realised that it was a miracle; I had finally found a cat that I wasn’t allergic to! I got up, unlocked my door, and went inside.

I asked he how he could talk, and I kid you not, these were his exact words: “What do you mean? Do you see my mouth moving? Do I look like a cat to you?”

I didn’t know what to say! He was quite offended when I responded that yes, he did look like a cat, and then he introduced himself as Spott. Then, he proceeded to say I was being rude by referring him as, “it,” so I apologized and said I would go out to get some cat food and supplies and whatnot. He told me there was no need, as he was quite civilized. So, I just cooked an extra portion of dinner for him and laid out some blankets for him to sleep on.

Nothing was really out of the ordinary until I asked him why he was here and the way he was . I still remember the dead silence before he spoke:

“I am an informant, and I came here to gather information about life and humans here. I am not a cat, and if I was to try to tell you what I actually am, you would not understand.”

I told him that of course I would and then he shocked me by saying he was leaving the next day. Why? Because he had gotten enough information, or so he says.

He was true to his word; I have never seen him to this day, despite putting up “Missing Cat” posters everywhere and looking for him.

[FAI]

Oh, hey Alex! Have you managed to find any information on this statement?

[ALEX]

I found these posters that he said he put up for Spott. He does look like a regular cat, but I could not find any reports of a talking cat.

[FAI]

Oh, that’s fine Alex. Thanks for helping me!

[ALEX]

I’m literally your assistant, Fai.
