Work Text:
Poland arrived back from an exhausting day filling out paperwork and sending off letters, his wings were very dirty and his hair was tangled.
"Poland, you ok? You look awful." Hungary looked genuinely concerned for his friend's health.
The Pole didn't respond as he hung up his coat. Then he walked to the sofa and just faceplanted on top of it.
Hungary walked over to them and placed a hand on their shoulder. "You need some help with those wings, Polska?"
Poland nodded, not vocally replying.
The Hungarian walked upstairs and grabbed a specialized brush that Poland uses to brush his feathers.
Poland sat up once he heard Hungary re-enter the room, once he saw the brush, his eyes lit up with happiness.
"Hungary, you didn't have to-"
"Yes I do, look at the state of you!"
"..." Poland fell silent, but he was very grateful for Hungary even considering helping him brush his wings.
Hungary sat behind Poland and began to run the brush through their feathers, causing Poland to let out a contented sigh.
"Thank you so much Hungary, I would be nothing if you weren't here…"
"Polska, you need to stop putting yourself down, you can function just fine without me."
"Fine, if you say so…" He smiled. "I just really appreciate you."
Hungary smiled back. "I appreciate you too, it's been you and me against the world for a long time, and I don't see that changing."
"I don't see that changing either.." Poland just leaned back and let his wings be brushed, it was a pleasant feeling.
After about 15 minutes of silent brushing, Poland's wings were their usual bright white, they also regained their fluffiness.
"There we go, isn't that better, Polska?"
"A lot better, thanks a ton, Hungary, I really needed that.."
Hungary responded with a smile.
"You should really get some rest, I'll make some coffee for us in the morning."
"Oh you fucking legend." Poland was ecstatic.
"See you in the morning, Hungary." Poland waved to them as he went upstairs.
"See you in the morning!" He smiled and waved back.
