Don't do what you don't want to be done to you

Summary:

Enid Sinclair's first day in Nevermor was far from a breeze.
Nor the weeks, even the years that preceded that day as well.
Enid's life was never easy, and for no other reason than that it was different.

But his optimist ultimately won.

Things always work out in the end.

(Enid have 14 years here? It's the first year of high school)

Notes:

Hey! I hope you're well.

It happened quite quickly, I got the idea around 4 p.m., at 5 p.m. I had already made a sketch (I shared it on my Twitter @teladdoff) and now at 10 p.m., I have written and translated it while I walk my dog
There are definitely several faults here. Sorry in advance.

Work Text:

For almost all children, the first day of school is always stressful, even worse when it's a new school.

Enid stayed in Normi schools for a while, and during the holidays in the lycantropia camps, her family was just a bonus with whom she sometimes exchanged a few words.

Even if she has never missed it, puberty still remains different from ordinary humans. So for the high school, these parents sent her to Nevermor hoping, without even hiding it, to see the girl become a real werewolf.

She had made thousands of scenarios, she would never have thought that it would turn out so badly.

-"Um, hi, I'm new here and..." and she was cut off by a boy who approached a little too close to her, sniffing heavily. Enif backed away abruptly.

-"Hey what are you doing?" she asked quickly embarrassed.

-"Your smell is weird, nothing I haven't smelled before."

- “However, I am a werewolf.”

A young girl bursts out laughing: “With such a unusual look? Who are you trying to make believe this?

"Come on, let's give her a chance."

Enid smiled awkwardly, unsheathing those claws she couldn't do anything about, then retracted them. She waited for a response but only received laughter from the three students.

-"What was that ?" » asks the taller one as he calms him laughter.

He looks at these two friends before getting closer to Enid (too much, she smelled his dog smell). These teeth were pushed further, these blood-gnawed nails took about ten centimeters, he approached abruptly, letting out a growl coming directly from the back of his throat, his nose slightly turned up as he sniffed the smell emanating from the blonde, when Once these changes disappeared, he started laughing loudly again, attracting the attention of the other uniformed students. Enid really didn't need the attention to herself right now.

She suppressed a moan, already regretting having wanted to socialize.

-"You stink of scared kid, you have nothing to do here." he finally concludes.

-"You're not even a real werewolf, he really accepts anyone here."

-"She's a Sinclair, isn't she?"

-"Ho, that must be why then, don't come near us, mutt."

They all laughed heartily one last time before turning around and leaving the new werewolf alone in the middle of the courtyard. Until then, she had managed to keep the tears and all the pain inside her, she had become rather good at it over time.

She tightened the straps of her bag a little more and moved as far away from this sulking crowd as possible. Maybe she'll try later.

She never liked silence and solitude, yet she always ended up alone in dead silence. She never liked it, but these differences, her family, life, force it on her.

She discreetly checked that she was indeed alone, she can't stand solitude but for cry, she wanted well.

She curled up against a tree, the dry trees behind her hurting her back, but the tears finally falling was a relief big enough to make her forget any pain.

How could she believe that werewolves from other packs would accept her when her own pack, her own family would not accept her.

No one will ever truly accept her, she's been accepting it for a while now, but she still has this hope, this flame. “maybe…” but every time it was the same thing.

Either she's too weird or not weird enough. Either too human or not enough... She is never enough for anyone.

So maybe being alone all her life was her destiny, but what's the point of living for a life she doesn't want?

- “Don’t listen to them, they’re imbeciles.”

Enid wiped her face on her elbow before raising her head to see who she was talking to.

-"Thanks"

Enid sat up a little, gaining a little more composure, these tears disappeared completely.

-"My name is Yoko."

- “Enid.”

-"Nice to meet you, now you get off your ass and forget about those big idiots."

An outstretched hand appeared in front of her. The werewolf looked at her, a voice in the back of his mind screaming that this would definitely end badly, but his eternal optimist took over and the hope of living these best years in this school, and grabbed the hand she outstretched towards her. Her smile regained, she observes Yoko, it was a light smile, but it was there.

Maybe for once everything will be okay.

-"You are much prettier when you smile." the brunette smiled back, revealing just enough of those canines for Enid to understand that she was dealing with a vampire.

Maybe she just hadn't looked in the right place and that's why nothing seemed to work.

For the second time the blonde thanked the other girl grabbing her bag to put it back on her shoulders and followed Yoko back into class.
