As i am walking to work right now, I see Thomas.
I sigh internally, I hate Thomas. He is always so slick and sly. He never talks and it is so annoying. He looks at me with his emerald, green orbs, we make eye contact then he looks away.
Ew.
Oh! I see the agency! Finally, it feels as if I have been walking for ages.
As I walk through the front door, I see Thomas waiting for me in the elevator. What? Why is he doing this, I cannot believe him.
I mutter a quick ’thank you’ as I walk him, I am not going to be rude to his face. Then when the doors close there is an awkward silence. He is on his phone texting a girl, I doubt he has a girlfriend though, he is too lanky. He has weird messy brown hair that covers a lot of his face, and he has a sharp jawline.
Then, finally the elevator door opens to our floor, which is the 7th one. The building in general has 10! Our workplace is big; New York all knows us.
I go and greet my friend, Lola.
“Hi!” I say,
“Hey Sb! How are you doing?” She says,
We start chatting, I tell her about Thomas this morning, and she says that she thinks Thomas likes me, I shake my head then say goodbye, I need to check out my case.
I get to my desk and see the case put neatly on my desk with ‘UNSOLVED’ on it. I sit down and unpack my work bag with my laptop, phone, and books. I pick up the case file with all the information, then set up my laptop.
After setting up my laptop, I see an email from my boss
Meeting at 10:30 about your new case. Do not be late
I check the time on my watch,
9:47
Okay, I have about 45 minutes till the meeting, and I start working on the case, it is some kidnapping case involving minors, they do not have a lead, but I am sure I can fix that.
I see that the latest victims name is Claire. It was about 2 days ago. She has brunette hair too and the last she was seen in was a pink dress with polka dots. I keep reading through everything and find out that there had been 9 other cases making claire the tenth one. I take a snack out of my bag, it’s a wrap I made this morning and start munching on it as I keep reading through.
I look at the watch now,
10:25
wow, that time went fast, seeing that my wrap is finished already. I get up to go to the bin and throw the plastic away, then I head to the bosses office.
It’s at the back of the agency and my building is huge! When i arrive, it’s perfectly 10:30. I knock on the door and hear a “come in!” from the boss.
Now, that I have permission, I open the door and walk in. I first see the boss on the main chair, then as I scan around.
i see Thomas.
