Work Text:
Ranboo was quickly losing blood from a nasty gash on his side. He was going to die. He was going to die in this gross alley and his body wouldn’t be found for another two weeks and Tubbo would worry when he didn’t come home tonight and Niki would worry when he didn’t come in for work the next morning and-
Alright, he needed to chill out. It wasn’t even that bad! Ranboo looked down at the cut and grimaced.
Okay, maybe it was that bad, but he’d had worse.
He slowly took off his suit jacket, trying not to jostle the wound, and applied pressure to his side. Biting back a cry from the pain, he lowered himself into a sitting position. All of a sudden he felt just so tired. It was a struggle to keep his eyes open, not to mention put pressure on his wound so he wouldn’t die. Maybe he could just take a tiny break, rest for five minutes. Yeah, that sounded nice.
Wait, no. Isn’t that how people die? They say they’re tired and will just take a tiny little nap and then, bam, dead.
Ranboo sighed, but the action just caused him to flinch and let out a cry of pain. There wasn’t much he could do now, just try to stay awake and continue hugging his suit jacket to his side. This sucked, now he was going to have to get a new suit and he did not have that kind of money right now.
Ranboo’s phone started violently vibrating on the concrete in front of him, its cracked screen showing Tubbo’s caller id. He really didn’t want to answer, but that would be rude. So, Ranboo slowly reached out a hand and pressed the green “accept call” button, the speaker button.
“Ranboo? Where are you? I thought you said you’d be back like an hour ago.”
What was Ranboo supposed to say to that? Oh, my bad Tubbo, but I lost a fight in the Hypixel Arena really badly and now I’m bleeding out in some gross alley and I’ll probably die soon if I don’t properly take care of the deep gash in my side.
“Sorry Tubbo- I, um, got caught up in something.” Ranboo winced at how raspy his voice sounded.
“Really? Are- are you okay? You sound kinda… rough. I thought we promised not to lie to each other.”
Technically, it wasn’t a lie. “Yeah I, uh, I’ll be at the apartment soon.”
“... Okay. See ya soon.” And with that Tubbo ended the call.
Ranboo stared at his lockscreen for a solid five minutes before standing up. He quite liked it, it was a selfie Tommy took of himself, Tubbo, and Ranboo. They were at the zoo and Ranboo was giving Tubbo a piggyback ride while Tommy was slightly in front of them, flipping the two off.
With all the effort he could muster, he grabbed his phone, stood up, and walked out of the musty alley. What was usually a ten minute walk took Ranboo almost twenty. Luckily, Ranboo didn’t run into anyone on his way back. It would have been a bit awkward for someone to pass by a staggering seven foot tall enderman hybrid desperately clutching a suit jacket to their side to stop from losing too much blood so they wouldn’t die at one in the morning.
When Ranboo finally reached his apartment, he made a beeline to the bathroom and locked himself in. He could hear Tubbo trying to talk to him, but he ignored it. He needed to take care of his wound.
After roughly ten minutes, Ranboo was all patched up. He threw his now bloody suit jacket in the shower, intending to try and salvage it later.
As he stepped out of the bathroom, Tubbo took one look at him and asked, “What happened?”
Ranboo just smiled. “Nothing.”
“Wha- Clearly something happened! Please, tell me- I-”
Ranboo didn’t hear the rest of Tubbo’s sentence as he shut the door to his room and locked in. He felt bad doing so, but he was so incredibly tired that he didn’t care anymore. He could deal with it in the morning.
Besides, he was overreacting before. He was fine now.
