The reason why they don't sing

Summary:

Of course they play instruments. But have they thought of using their own voice...?Well. some celestials got a very specific reasons not to do that.
(Since I was bored, I made some theories of why some celestials do not use their singing voice to create harmony.)

Chapter Text

Scaratar and Blasoom are playing on a flower garden.

"So scaratar.Have you ever thought of using your voice when you make music?"

"Oh...I've never even thought of that."

"Me neither. Besides, I'm quite satisfied with my instrument~!"

Blasoom is right. They got a beautiful sound of bassoon created from their head. They didn't have anything to worry about.

"But hey! You really got soothing voice, so... perhaps you can sing in a beautiful tone as well if you try?"

"I...I don't know. I'm not really sure if I could..."

"Come on! Just only once? Please??"

"Alright... here goes nothing..."

With their a bit of emotion of unsettlement, Scaratar started to play its sitar to get along with the melody. Then, began to sing rather in a small voice at first, but soon got confidence in their tone after Blasoom saw them with amusement and expectation.

Their singing voice was gentle, and somehow mysterious just like their sitar. blasoom was so taken with the friend's voice rather than their sitar's harmony. Yes,it was THAT good. They even thought it might be better off with its sitar (well, that would be an exaggeration and could be very rude if said so, though) .

After a while, something happened. The flowers around them started to glow up in the light of hope as if they sang the song of the mythical realm of the cycle of life.

However, it did not last long enough. When scaratar's song reached to climax. All of the flowers began something 'funny'.From the little bird overseer's perception, their beloved flower seemed to be "enjoying the situation", even if their soul was about to be abducted by the unnatural force, and even worse (as they both could NEVER expected...),

...They all died. with no trace of living will. It was just between the two. A ladybug who just wanted to sing, and the sower, who stopped smiling seconds ago.

"..."

"N, no... what happened..?"

Scaratar begun to look around in anxiety that they never felt before. Not even when their best friend Loodvigg had started to throw a tantrum.

They looked at blasoom. even they tried to analyse their emotion by their overlayer, they could hardly understand it. Are they sad? Are they mad? Or maybe, feeling despair...?

"I'm, I'm sorry...your garden,"

Scaratar was sobbing with a sense of guilt and regret. How were they suppose to cope with such massive mistake? They could never knew. The only thing that is capable for them was to be swept away and beaten by their waterfall of emotion.

"Flowers..."

Blasoom started to speak in low tone.

"They're all gone..."

"I know...It's all my fault...I should have prevent myself from going further...I, I'm sorry..."

"...I'm the one who asked to sing."

Blasoom started to hop towards a friend covered in tears.

"It's fine...I still can replant some."

Ever since then, both had never sang in the entire life.

Notes:

The main reasons
Blasoom・・・Already satisfied with their instrument
Scaratar・・・Their singing voice will make all plants to overgrow too much and make them short lived.
