She was just a flower. She couldn't move, she couldn't see, she couldn't talk, she couldn't hear. However, she knows that she exists. She just knows, that one day, she will be free from this darkness that surrounds her. What is beyond the darkness? Is the world behind it all bright and beautiful? Is it colourful? Cheerful? Full of nothing but love?
Or... could it be the opposite? Was the world dark and glum, nothing but complete dullness surrounding the world, filled with nothing but hatred? Was it... even worth it? Did Moira want to find out?
But, of course she did. She doesn't actually know what the world holds for her, or when she will even be free. Everything, is a question to the enclosed flower at the moment.
That's all that she was.
But Angela, she was different. She was a bee, free in the planet Earth. Angela's life goal was to help every flower she sees, help them to become stronger, and bloom beautifully. She wants to the world to become a colourful and bright place, and the first step at doing so was to ensure that all plants got a chance to live, even if it wasn't for long. That's the purpose of life for Angela.
And so, today wasn't any different for Angela. She was doing what she usually does, pollinating any flower that looked like it was ready to come bloom- to come to life, bringing happiness to anything in her path.
However, she was forced to a stop when she saw a certain flower. It was one she had never seen before- on the outside, it looked so very colourful, and so just... full of life. Angela has seen hundreds- maybe even well over thousands- of different flowers during Angela's journey, but they were all seen at least twice.
This one, though- it might be one of a kind- Angela thought. As she approached the new flower species with excitement, she thought about how she would want to cherish and take extra care of this flower, so she could stay and watch how it grows beautifully, hope and want to see how it looks once it blooms, especially if the flower is this beautiful on the outside, then it is bound to be just as gorgeous- if not even more- on the inside.
Angela landed on the flower, pollinating it joyfully and as swiftly as possible. After finishing, Angela took in her surroundings- making sure to take in the the scenery so she remembers where to come back to check in on her new friend.
She quickly found that this flower wasn't just unique from its looks, but it also worked differently than other flowers, considering that this flower bloomed almost instantly after being pollinated. Angela flew off the flower in shock, taking in the beautiful sight in front of her.
She was... absolutely stunning. A perfect shade of purple to yellow ombre on each individual petal- which were all shaped so wonderfully might Angela add- painted fantastically on her. The scent of the flower filled the air around Angela, alluring her to approach the flower once again. Angela felt within that this flower wasn't just beautiful and unique, but it also.. feels as if, she can communicate with her.
"You're stunning," Angela complimented, following her gut feeling that this flower could understand her. She saw the flower move, and suddenly, she had opened her eyes.
"You.. you are too. Did you.. help me?" She asked, gazing at Angela with this soft and longing look in her eyes.
"I did.. My name is Angela, I want to give all like you a chance in this world. Do you know what you are?"
"I... I don't know. But.. Angela.. is such a gorgeous name. It suits you so well," the flower told Angela.
Feeling bashful, Angela didn't want to leave her. "Do you have a name?"
She looked as if she was deep in thought, but then shook her head. "No- could you perhaps give me one? I know you'd think of something beautiful."
She was right. Angela put so much thought into what to name the flower. Thinking about meanings, pronunciation, how it's spelt, how it rolls off her tongue, overall, if it is her. "... Moira. You're definitely Moira."
'Moira' stared at the bee for a moment, then smiling softly. "Moira... so beautiful. You have an eye for beauty, you do. I'll cherish it, Angela. Thank you."
Angela blushed at this. There was certainly something about Moira that made Angela want to never leave. She'll say, she most definitely would pluck her off her stem and take Moira with her, she most definitely would!
But then, there would be consequences. Moira would wilt, and Angela would definitely live with ever-lasting guilt knowing that she took her chance at living. Angela would much rather leave her here, while coming to visit as frequently as she could.
Otherwise, she'd never be able to forget her, considering her beauty and intellect compared to the other lives she's given.
Like- sure, Angela thinks that every flower is beautiful in their own way, but Moira was on a different level. She didn't know exactly how to describe her feelings as is, but.. she felt.. warm. Almost as if there was 'butterflies in her stomach,' even though she was just a bee. "Moira.. What will you do- once I leave?"
Moira looked to be deep in thought up until Angela called out her name. "... You're going to leave?" She asked, tone remained quiet and unsure.
And that confirmed it- Moira didn't want Angela to ever leave.
And Angela didn't ever want to leave Moira.
Would Angela really be willing to throw away everything she has built for this gorgeous flower? Absolutely. After hearing the way in which Moira asked if she was actually leaving.. Angela couldn't handle putting her through that.
She couldn't handle the thoughts of another bee coming and snatching her up. She couldn't handle the found of Moira finding herself feeling neglected and no longer blooming blissfully. She couldn't handle knowing that she, in reality, would never see Moira again once she left.
Afterall, there are plenty of bees like Angela, right? Bees who only want the best for the world, whose whole purpose in life is to help produce and give life to those unfortunate. In reality, Angela is just one in a million. Bees work hard, work so very hard to make the world a gorgeous, and beautiful place.
So, Angela is prepared to change her life's purpose. For Moira. To cherish and hold Moira through her entire lifespan.
Who knew, Angela could fall in love so quick, almost as if she was a human.
