Work Text:
What a bitter death. To lay, chest torn open, back frozen numb by the red-stained snow, knowing her parents would never know what happened to their daughter. And yet, despite how ugly she found this frozen wasteland of death, Lucie couldn't help but find this clearly mutated creature fluttering above her quite beautiful. It's wings were wrinkled, like poorly dried laundry, and it was an unnaturally bright blue color. She almost wondered if it was an entirely new color, undiscovered until now. She watched it tumble through the air, seeming to barely be able to fly with its poorly shaped wings. Lucie felt she could almost relate to it in a way, the way they were both somehow surviving despite all the odds stacked against them. And somehow, as it landed on her face to rest, she almost felt comforted.
