Eyes of the Beholder

Summary:

A simple bike ride between lovers Albedo and Aether turns into one of the most horrid experiences they could ever imagine. A story in which Aether suffers the consequences of Albedo's actions while the truths of the one he loved slowly comes out in bits and pieces.

Notes:

Trauma au written by my friend and I. It's still a work in progress so you'll need to bear with additional corrections sometimes! But I hope you enjoy nonetheless! Both of us truly enjoy dramatic story writing so we decided that we'd do one where depression is the core sense of the story. What's better than angst anyway right?

I'm not too sure how long this will take to update but I'd say monthly after whatever we've written gets put out! Yeah! Well- okay, enjoy! <33

Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

"You'll promise to come back to the dorms yes?" Sucrose's voice sounded as she brushed through a sleepy Klee's hair, unknotting it for the night. Sucrose, a well-known housemate to Albedo, a dormmate and trusted childhood friend who took care of Klee when he was away during work eyed the blond male once more, taking note of the oddly bright vibe around him. She couldn't help but softly let out a chuckle in his direction. *"Are you heading out to see Aether?"* She asked, quickly catching his attention.

Albedo fiddled with his shirt and turned back to look at the two, a small avert of the eye spelt everything out for the female, Klee hadn't known of anything, drowsily looking between the two. "Big brother, are you going to see big brother Aether? I want..." She yawned. "...candy when you're back." She muttered.

Albedo let a defeated sigh and nod. "Alright, I'll get you a lot of goodies once you're awake and perhaps a book on alchemy for you to Sucrose, the night bookstores are always open and sales are low so I'd get expensive books for a much lower rate. I'm going to be late so I'll see you two later?" He asked, unlocking the door.

Though neither did Albedo, Aether nor anyone know that a normal day would turn out to be everyone's worst nightmare as one of them was to never return for a while, perhaps even longer.

Aether hummed lightly to himself as he put on his clothes and brushed his hair, before putting it in a braid. He can’t wait to go see Albedo and hang out with him, they are extremely close a do a lot of things together. He went to the living room and ate a small snack as he waited for him to pick him up. Of course, he had no idea that things would change heavily for the worse.
