Chapter 1: Claustrophobia

Chapter Text

Lloyd couldn't believe it. Again. Once more was he and the others kidnapped, and like every other time, it was for the same reasons. The bad guys' gain, and the ninjas loss. They weren't test subjects; they were living beings. With emotions, that these people clearly didn't have, if they were so willing to 'test' them like lab rats. It was, however, unfortunate that he was to go first. They were given a 'prompt', AKA, 'here's what we're going to do to you', that told them what they were going to be tested on, and it was going to be a fear that they haven't faced before. Great. And the others would be watching each other go. If they didn't, they would be forced to do something worse that what they were supposed to do.

Lloyd was shoved into the room that he was supposed to be tested in and he looked at the ninjas that were staring at him through the window that was there. He could hear their comments through the thing in his ear, it allowed him to communicate with them. Lloyd knew he would need it. He didn't know what he was being tested on but the other's seemed to might know, but they never told him anything. As soon as the 'scientists' left the room, Lloyd sighed out, much to his lung's relief. "So, Lloyd, do you know what you're getting tested on?" Jay asked, staring out the window at Lloyd. "Not entirely, but I am terrified not going to lie. I have a lot to fear in my life." Lloyd said, shivering at the astonishing number of phobias that he had. Suddenly, the wall to his left seemed to move closer to him. Weird. "Was that just me?" Kai asked, getting a little concerned for his little brother. Then, the ceiling seemed to lower onto Lloyd. Lloyd froze immediately. No. No, nonononono. Absolutely NOT. Lloyd felt the fear burn at his stomach, he felt like blowing holes at the walls around him, to seek some kind of refuge.

Then walls then all started to move in on him, slowly, but Lloyd felt like they were only inches away from him, despite them being a few feet away from him. The other ninjas seemed to catch on, and were staring in disbelief, since when did Lloyd have claustrophobia? Lloyd collapsed onto his knees and screamed. Was he crying? He couldn't tell. He could faintly hear the shouts of concern and support distantly in his ear, but at this point, he was so terrified, that the thought of the walls closing in on him, the thought of no escape, was so strong that it blocked any word from entering his mind. Lloyd backs up a little, and he swore, that he felt a wall graze his back, but when he looked, the wall behind him was still a few feet away. Lloyd felt like a little kid again. Trapped, alone, and so very hungry. The thought of escape crossing his mind every single day he spent at Darkley's. Lloyd felt numb. Was this what it felt like to lose your mind? Because Lloyd suddenly felt every tiny detail of the area around him. The wall just moved a tiny bit. It's touching my face-, no wait, it's over there. The scientist just moved a tiny bit. Lloyd didn't know when, but he felt so terrified, and he could feel his fight of flight response kick in and he turned to the window. That was the only wall that fortunately wasn't moving.

Lloyd could slightly tell that he was still screaming, he probably looked insane walking towards the window, rage clouding his entire face. "LET ME OUT!" He screamed at the top of his lungs, over and over again, repeating it like some kind of chant. That was when Lloyd felt the walls move towards him by at least a foot, now they were only a couple of inches away from his body. Lloyd was panicking. He was starting to hyperventilate, and he couldn't get his breathing under control. He could see the black spots in his vision. He was going to pass out from the lack of oxygen soon. This couldn't be happening. He just wanted to be at peace. They just got Nya back. Why does he and his family have to suffer more? What could they have done to deserve all of this? That's when Lloyd felt the walls finally stop moving and scientists walked his and handcuffed him. Lloyd snapped out of his trance-like state. Then he realized.

The walls weren't even close to him. They barely even moved.
