Bringing a Lance to a sword fight

Summary:

A small story where Rosaria finds the only club on campus that'll let her beat people up with a lance, and maybe a friend

Notes:

Work Text:

Rosaria was one of the only women to show up to this stupid event. She loved the thrill of a fight but because she didn’t use a rapier she couldn’t join the fencing club at school. Instead she tried MMA (Ugh, Did that Dehya women know that throwing her sword in the air to punch people wasn’t a good plan?), Wrestling (She was the only person of her weight class anywhere in Teyvat), Rugby ( They wanted her to run that much? No thanks) Until she finally found a LARP Group. Wasn’t that depressing. To work on her lance handling she had to go to the LARPers. She studied the group, Sword, bow, bow, Claymore, sword… again. When she thought about what club to join in college she hadn’t considered “The Knights of Favonius” until her adviser told her she had to join something and that they didn’t limit what weapons you brought as long as they weren't live steel.

She watched the group from the parking lot with weary eyes as she clutched the foam lance in her hand. She noticed a blue haired kid, probably only a year or two younger then her sneaking sips out of what looked like a flask. Every part of his outfit, the eyepatch, the fur, the … ugh Sword Made her want to roll her eyes, but she approached and reached her hand out.
“You know, drinking on campus is usually reserved for dorm parties right?” She asked.
He laughed, a sound that almost had her smile, “Well you see, as this is the park across from the dorms I’m not sure we’re even on campus' '. He handed her the flask as they looked at each other and Rosaria took in his eyes, “Are we ignoring the Cape Oath Park sign with the university seal?” She asked. Taking a swig, whiskey, she decided.

“Obviously,” Came the response.

Rosaria snorted and handed him back the flask, “Rosaria,” She said moving her lance to be in both hands so she wouldn’t be expected to shake his.
“Kaeya,” Came the response.
