After Chat Noir’s near capture, Hesperia had his champion bring Chat Noir back to one of the safehouses for the night. Thankfully he was near one of the safehouses and he was able to arrive before the other two did. He did a quick sweep of the safehouse and made sure the bedroom was acceptable. No words were exchanged between him and his champion until after Chat Noir was safely tucked into bed. With the door shut, he looked at his champion with tired eyes. “Thank you for your help Alya.” With the recovery operation successful, he recalled his butterfly as Alya reverted to her civilian self.
“I’m always glad to help you, Hesperia. But…” Her eyes drifted back to the shut bedroom door. “Is he going to be okay?”
“I wish I could give you an answer.” Hesperia responded sadly, shaking his head. He was concerned about the young hero’s deteriorating health and mental well-being. The fact that he passed out while transformed was an indicator of how badly he was doing. “Being stuck in an alternate world, one that despises you none the less. Then having his partner disappear without a trace? I can see why he stopped caring about his health.”
The loss of his wife is what drove him to rebel against the Supreme, but he knew that there were nights where he wanted to give up. The thought of leaving Adrien alone was what pushed him to get back up and keep fighting. All he could do was imagine how much more pain Chat Noir was in. “We just need to be there for him and do whatever we can to support him. Even if he doesn’t want it.”
“Your right.” Alya nodded in agreement, it was the least that she could do to help them. “I – “ she started off, but was interrupted when one of the walls started to decay and fall apart. She glanced to the bedroom door, there was no way that was Chat Noir’s Cataclysm which meant one thing. “Claw Noir? I swore we weren’t followed!”
“I don’t know, we can figure out how later! Go get Chat Noir and get out of here! I’ll hold them off!” Hesperia commanded gripping his cane tighter, his eyes narrowed as he stared at the three figures standing in the gaping hole.
“A butterfly, a cat, and a fox in the same spot. Master will be pleased with this catch.” Shadybug smirked as she watched Alya run off towards the bedroom. She glanced back, “did you want to fetch your cat? We can deal with the butterfly.”
“I don’t think we will need to split up.” An armored claw pointed to the room where Alya was walking out with an unconscious Chat Noir awkwardly on her back. “But hurt one hair on his head and there will be hell to pay.”
“God listening to you talk about him makes me sick.” Claw Noir pretended to gag. “I cannot wait until we capture him so we don’t have to listen to you talk about how much you miss him.” Taking his baton out, his eyes focused on Hesperia. “See if you can keep up cockroaches.” He knew that giving Hesperia time to empower Alya would make this significantly harder. Which meant that he needed to stay in Hesperia’s face to prevent him from getting that opening.
Seeing Claw Noir charging straight at him, Hesperia brought his cane up to block the attack. He needed a few seconds to empower his Kamiko and Claw Noir seemed intent on not giving him that time. Shadybug and the third figure seemed to be uninterested in getting into this fight. He wanted to laugh and claim that the villains were underestimating their strength, but with Chat Noir still unconscious he knew that he was at a severe disadvantage.
Unfortunately for him, he didn’t have to wait long until Shadybug and the third figure finally started to move. He felt a yo-yo string wrap around his waist, pinning his arms to his side. He fell to the ground with a solid thump. Confusion spread across his face, the only holder that he knew of that used a yo-yo was the Ladybug. But Shadybug went after Alya… which meant that the only other person that this could belong to was, “Ladybug.” He uttered in horror as he watched her come clearly into view. Gone was the young girl that he met with brilliant blue eyes, instead replaced with some warped amalgamation between ladybug and human.
The noise from the skirmish woke Chat Noir up and it took him a moment to realize what the situation was. Hesperia was tied up with a yo-yo, Alya was knocked unconscious near Hesperia and he was placed against a wall. He knew all hope would be lost if all three of them got captured. Glancing to his Miraculous he knew that he could break the floor and that should give everyone a chance at escape. However, he knew that he wouldn’t have the energy to move much afterwards. He could feel a plan forming in his mind, and a weak chuckle escaped his lips. He could already hear Ladybug chastising him for such a reckless plan.
Shutting his eyes, he summoned his Cataclysm and placed his hand on the ground. Focusing on the area underneath Hesperia and Alya he willed the power to only destroy that area and the yo-yo binding Hesperia. It only took a second for the floor to collapse under them before he was forcing himself to stand up and draw attention. “Purrhapse did you three forget about little old me?” He forced a smile and one step forward before his energy reserves gave out once more. He felt himself falling towards the cold hard ground.
“Kitty!”
Chat Noir caught a blur of red and black rushing towards him, “Ladybug?” He asked weakly before the dark abyss took him once more.
