Work Text:
“It’s getting everywhere,” a low voice bemoaned from inside the office.
Sasuke paused in his tracks, hand hovering over the door.
The voice was familiar, very familiar, though not one he had ever heard sounding so pitiful.
“It’s your mess, you clean it up,” a second person snapped. Another familiar voice, another familiar teammate’s voice.
“There’s too much!” Kakashi protested, “and it’s gotten everything all sticky.” He let out a whining noise all too similar to his summons. “Why is it so cold and sticky?” he added in a grumbly tone. “It was warm when I filled it up a minute ago.”
Sasuke felt heat creeping up his cheeks. This was… it was starting to sound too much like…
“I suppose I got carried away,” Kakashi commented with a sigh. “I thought there would be room for all of it, but I must have overfilled it.”
“Stop being such a baby,” Sakura sassed back. “You’re the one who spilled it everywhere, just grab a washcloth.”
Kakashi mumbled a reluctant agreement, then—
“Not that one!” Sakura screeched. “It’s already dirty from earlier!”
From... earlier?
“There are no other clean ones!”
“Kakashi…” Sakura said his name with a sigh, emphasizing each of the syllables as if he was a troublemaking schoolboy.
“What do you want me to use?” he challenged in a petulant tone. “I need something—it’s still spilling out from the other hole!”
Sakura let out a strangled choking noise that made Sasuke’s entire body wince.
“What other hole?”
“The—” Even from the other side of the door, he could sense the raging blush that Kakashi must have been sporting. “The second hole, Sakura,” the man sputtered defensively. “It’s leaking all over from the wrong hole!”
Sasuke’s face was burning now, his ears feeling like he had spent too much time in the sun, likely the cardinal color of his favorite fruit.
There was a moment’s pause, and then—
“Don’t do it like that!” Sakura reprimanded, an affronted gasp in a register that was nearly out of audible human range. “Why are you putting your mouth there?”
“You told me to clean it up,” Kakashi snapped back in a heated tone. “And I told you I was thirsty,” he added lightly, no doubt doing his obnoxious eye-smile.
“Kakashi.”
Sakura repeated his name, the way she said it sounding much too personal, much too intimate, much too—
Sasuke’s hand fell from the door, clenching into a fist at his side.
Another lengthy sigh interrupted his spiraling thoughts.
“Fine, do whatever you want.”
A muffled slurping sound made Sasuke’s eyes bulge out of their sockets. Droplets of sweat beaded across his forehead, his throat closing up, muscles remaining paralyzed despite how much he willed them to move.
“Maa, Sakura-chan, it tastes kind of bitter. Did you change something?”
The undeniable sound of a smack echoed through the walls.
“You complete ass!”
“I’m just saying—”
“Stop dilly-dallying and get to work already. I don’t have extra time to waste.”
Before he could be further traumatized, Sasuke regained command of his limbs and flickered away from the office as fast as ninja-ly possible. He didn’t care about the message he was supposed to deliver—no report was important enough for him to interrupt that.

Sakura stared with disbelief as Kakashi paused mid-dictation to catch the rogue drops of coffee trickling onto his desk.
“Kakashi,” she deadpanned, watching the illustrious Hokage lick and suck at the liquid pooling along the defective beverage lid. “Get a new travel mug.”
His eyebrows pinched together, mouth twisting into a sulk. “This is an Icha Icha collectible, Sakura,” he retorted,. “It’s not replaceable.”
She scowled back at him, tapping her boot against the floor. It was bad enough that he had to insult the coffee she brought him, much less that he insisted she bring it in a broken collector’s item.
But…
He looked up at her from behind the desk, his pupils dilated dramatically, the corners of his mouth turned down in a perfect puppy pout, bottom lip pushed up and looking all too cute.
Sakura surrendered with a sigh, unable to sustain her glower. It was hard to resist giving in when he removed the mask and made that face.
“You’re hopeless,” she muttered under her breath, feigning indifference to his charm and picking up another stack of papers on his desk to sort through.
He grabbed her hand before she could pull it away, drawing his thumb over her skin gentle enough to make her skin tingle.
“Maa, don’t give up on me so soon, Sakura-chan,” he replied playfully, his eyes twinkling in a smile.
There was no helping the blush now, especially not when his grin widened devilishly, his eyes fixed on hers.
Feeling warm, she cleared her throat and pulled away, her senses prickling as she realized the person who had been loitering outside the office had left without knocking.
She stared at the door with a frown, then turned back to the desk to look at Kakashi.
“Did you notice Sasuke hovering outside the door?” she questioned, wondering why their elusive teammate decided not to come in.
“Mhm,” Kakashi replied with a light hum, signing another document with a flourish.
“What do you think he wanted?”
“Maa, whatever it was couldn’t have been too important,” Kakashi reflected after a moment, scratching his ear with the end of his pen. “He left in such a hurry.”
