“Oi, Sanji! Your boyfriend’s here!”
Sanji sighs as he puts the last knife back in its place. “He’s not my boyfriend,” he grumbles, as is becoming habit by now.
“He picks you up every night!”
“He’s here to beg for food every night,” Sanji snaps back.
But he doesn’t dawdle. It hadn’t taken long for everyone to understand that Luffy has no patience to speak of. If Sanji doesn't go outside, Luffy will just invite himself inside.
Sanji has only just finished cleaning. He’s not letting that disaster walk into the kitchen.
Not that he’d let Luffy enter any kitchen at any point in time.
“SANJI!!!” Luffy yells, immediately jumping on him and wrapping his legs around Sanji’s waist. “I’M HUNGRY!”
“Luffy, get off,” Sanji growls, shoving a lunchbox at Luffy’s head. “I knew you’d be hungry so I made you something.”
Immediately Luffy brightens up. He doesn’t get off, but leans back far enough to open the lunchbox.
“MEAT!” he cheers happily, digging into it without preamble. He’s still hanging onto Sanji, legs crossed and clinging on. Sanji doesn’t know how Luffy has so much leg strength.
The beautiful Ms Nami said that Luffy is part of a gang. Or a parkour club. Or something. Sanji had been too distracted by her face to pay much attention.
“Can’t you at least share?” a new voice gripes and it’s with a start that Sanji realises there is someone else in the alley with them.
“Nope, this is mine,” Luffy says, mouth filled with food.
The newcomer sighs with exasperation but doesn’t seem surprised. Sanji blinks at the paint-covered overalls and goggles.
“And you are?” Sanji asks.
The new guy startles. As if he didn’t expect his presence to be questioned. But then quickly straightens and gives a self-conscious cough.
“Er, hi, I’m Usopp,” the new guy says. He gives Luffy a careful side-eye, then, with the most neutral face in the world, says very seriously, “I’m Luffy’s boyfriend.”
