Summary:

“Morning, Suguru! Rise and shine~”

There’s no way he could possibly end up on a comfy bed with Satoru by his side. Perhaps, everything was just a crazy dream, after all.

Notes:

Hello!
I have several ideas for this pairing. I wasn't sure which one to give you as the main gift, but I just rewatched JJK Movie 0 recently and I got the FeelsTM, so I decided to post this as the main gift.
I got even more sad when I remembered the recent thing that happened to Gojo in the manga (I won't spoil you in case you're not up-to-date with it, but you've probably heard about it anyways)
I promise my other gifts are fluffier to make up for this one! Hehe

Work Text:

“Morning, Suguru! Rise and shine~”

Suguru cracks his heavy eyelids open to his smiling best-friend and the blindingly bright light that seeps through the curtains. His brows crease in puzzlement. If his memory serves him correctly, there’s no way he could possibly end up on a comfy bed with Satoru by his side. Perhaps, everything was just a crazy dream, after all.

“Ouch. Don’t move too much, silly! Your wound still hasn’t fully healed yet.”

Suguru opens his mouth, a flimsy attempt to voice out his wonders, yet his throat feels so dry. He ends up coughing pathetically instead.

“Easy, now, just take it easy.”

A heavy sigh is all that he can let out. After an awkward beat passes, Suguru tries to speak again. “I-I think… I just had a weird dream. A very weird dream.”

“A dream, huh?” Satoru hums. His face is unreadable. “What kind of dream?”

“Well…for once, I joined this cult—no, that’s not right. I became the leader of that cult. Um. Also I think I kind of adopted a daughter…? Maybe two…?”

The sound of Satoru’s chuckle puts a small smile on Suguru’s face. “A very weird dream, right?”

This time, Satoru snorts. His gaze softens into something that’s akin to sadness. “Suguru…it wasn’t a dream.”

The small smile playing on Suguru’s lips freezes the second Satoru utters those words. His heart beats faster. His blood runs cold. For a split second, Suguru feels as if his organs suddenly forget how to breathe properly.

“What do you mean…?”

“Do you honestly not remember at all? Is it a strange case of amnesia? Wait. I probably should call Shoko to check—”

“Satoru, what do you mean?!”

Suguru can feel the goosebumps traveling all over his skin. His long fingers twitch restlessly on his side. In his peripheral vision, Suguru thinks he can spot a very familiar robe. Alas, he’s too scared to even take a proper glance at it.

“I saved you, Suguru,” Satoru murmurs softly, “I hauled your bloody ass all the way across the country after that nasty fight you had with my student. We’re in one of my hideouts now.”

“Why…?”

“Because…”

Satoru inhales deeply, and Suguru somehow knows what his best-friend is going to say before the first syllable even makes its way past Satoru’s parted lips.

“…You’re my one and only.”
