During his time in punishment, Wei Wuxian would sit for so long just procrastinating. And he would always end up staring at Lan Wangji.
Sometimes he would make it into a game of trying not to be caught staring, other times, (like now) he did it blatantly.
“Wei Ying. Work.” Lan Wangji would remind – not even needing to take his eyes up from his papers,
This time there was no response of any kind from Wei Wuxian – it was strange enough for Lan Wangji to raise his head questioningly after a short while,
“Ah- don’t move, don’t move!” Wei Wuxian demanded as soon as Lan Wangji had raised his head slightly,
Lan Wangji’s eyebrows drew closer together in confusion, but ultimately froze in his movement,
“What is it?”
Wei Wuxian didn’t respond again, but this time Lan Wangji’s head was raised enough that he could see that he was staring right at his face – it was now getting to a point that Lan Wangji didn’t know whether he should be worried…
“Aaaannnnnd – a hundred and seventy-three on the top! I think…” Wei Wuxian exclaimed happily.
Lan Wangji looked up fully now, making a face that meant he wanted an answer,
“Oh, right uh – well I noticed you have really long eyelashes – and a lot of them too. So I just started counting them – and I counted one hundred and seventy-three on the top left” Wei Wuxian shrugged.
Lan Wangji was left baffled – staying silent for what felt like a long time before having to clear his throat slightly, “And you were doing this instead of copying..”
“Aiyah, I finished ages ago” Wei Wuxian made a shooing motion with his hand,
What Lan Wangji now wanted to say was: ‘So you stayed longer just to… count my eyelashes..?’
