“Agh, shit!”
Undine could hear HP swear beside her as the Shadow Tangrowth grappled her Hitmonchan, locking it in place with a Bind attack. She looked down at her Pokedex. That HP was going down so fast! She could hear the whispers in her head. *Weak. Pathetic. Useless. Burden.* She could see it happening again, the strange Shadow Pokemon taking down all of her friends and their Pokemon. There was nothing she could do. Its HP was going down so fast…
HP turned to her. “Damn it, down to my last one. But I’m sure you’ll think of something!”
Undine opened her eyes, not realizing they had been closed. “I can’t. I won’t! I won’t let this happen again!” Her eyes glowed, and she saw her Brionne glowing suddenly. With a cry, its shape changed, and it grew until it was now larger, fully white with a long teal mane. Their eyes met, and something passed between them.
“Primarina, Hydro Cannon!”
With a cry, her newly-evolved Pokemon sent a blast of water at the Shadow Tangrowth, destroying it in a single strike.
“Whoa! Did your Brionne just evolve and blast that guy to death?”
Before she could answer, a ton of tiny Shadow Tangelas appeared from nowhere, surrounding them.
“What? We definitely KOed it!”
Before any of them could respond, a blast of green Energy Ball struck one of the Tangelas and dissipated it completely.
“Yo, you nerds need help?”
Pokemon Trainer Outrageous Lime, flanked by her teammates, sauntered up, her Tsareena preening as it prepared another attack.
Undine prepared to battle but stumbled, just as her Primarina did. HP caught her and held up a thumb. “You handled the last round. Leave this one to us. Let’s go, Hitmonchan!” Her Hitmonchan cried in response and readied its fists.
