Work Text:
Midnight, the time of day when usually no one is awake, but it seems that's not the case for this day. As Regulus, the second resident of suitcase, woke up. Seems like the pirate was awoken by something, a nightmare perhaps? Putting the reason of her awakening aside, the blonde girl checked what time it is.
"Huh, midnight. I didn't expect that." She proceeds to check on the other resident of her room, Mr. APPLe. But as expected, this APPLe is all asleep.
Regulus tried to processed her dreams. There were Manus Vindictae people and a strange woman, dressed in black with short blue hair. There was also another women but she seems to be in danger as the woman in black holds her like a hostage. That woman had long orange hair and oddly looks like-
*growl*
It seems like the hunger came to the pirate, it is in the middle of the night afterall. "It wouldn't hurt if I just get a snack or two during this hour." She thought to herself as she thinks of what food were left after dinner. All she seemed to remember there were leftover pastries near the entrance door.
Regulus decides to sneak out of her room and go to the dining area, there she sneaks herself near where the leftover pastries were left. She grabbed one of them, an ensaymada. A pastry product common in the southwestern Europe, Latin America, and most popular in the Philippines.
There she delights herself with the tasty goodness she has on her hand, the taste of the butter blends well with the cheese picked for this pastry. It was a delight to eat something new for once. It almost helps her get distracted from what her dream meant.
*creak*
But then the door opened whilst she was eating her midnight snack. Regulus was readying herself already for a fight but she didn't expect that Sonetto; the fourth resident of the suitcase and the friends of Vertin, was awake. No less at midnight when all people are supposed to be asleep.
"Bloody hell, I thought you were the Manus Vindictae for a second." The blonde blurted out against the long orange haired girl, clearly terrified whilst trying to keep her voice down as to not wake up any of the resident in this suit
"Why would the Manus Vindictae be inside the suitcase?" Sonetto curiously asked the girl in front of her, both were at a close distance but not too close. Regulus's guard went down as Sonetto comes close to the blonde, sitting right beside her. Willing to listen to the pirate at an hour perfect for secrets.
"It's just that, I had a dream earlier. More like a bloody nightmare." She admitted to the girl beside her, Sonetto gave a nod to signal the pirate to continue. "There were the Manus Vindictae and a short blue haired women. She was holding hostage another woman, but my memories of who that woman is was blurry but I know they had long hair similar to yours."
Sonetto thought about what Regulus said, looking upwards as she processed the information. Regulus couldn't help but dread on what might happen to all of them when Manus Vindictae gets a hold on them. Vertin, Mr. APPLe, X, Sotheby and even... Sonetto.
"That's very intriguing, but I couldn't help but think that hostage woman is actually me." Sonetto said, feeling a little nervous now the fact she thinks it was her. "Don't think about it like that! Just know that I'm here..." Regulus said as she hugs Sonetto, comforting her from those thoughts. "-plus Vertin and all our St. Pavlov Foundation friends." she added.
Sonetto chuckled lightly as she accepts the hug. "It seems that our pirate has a soft spot for this girl in front of her." She cooed at the girl.
"Oh just shut up." Regulus replied back, her tone hiding her true feelings. But she couldn't hide her hunger so she picked up her ensaymada and took a bite. "Just... let me eat right now, I'm feeling rather peckish."
"Honestly, so do I." Sonetto said as she grabbed one of the leftovers pastries, also another Ensaymada. The two girls ate their snack at the peace of midnight, thinking about what lies ahead for the two of them
