Work Text:

The music and the lights of the candles almost induced him in a state of lethargy. He wasn’t sure of anything. The world could have ended and he wouldn’t notice it or, being honest, cared about it. He could only concentrate in the piercing eyes of his dancing partner and the warm of his hands over his shoulder and waist.

The touch of another man over his skin wasn’t an experience that he was particular familiar with. Human touch, in fact, wasn’t something he often experienced. He usually preferred animals, dogs, over humans every other day. Humans cannot be trusted. Giving the opportunity, they could be the most vicious creatures over the planet. Will knew it; he had seen the crueller of them and the darkest side of humanity. Which also resided inside himself.

However, he shouldn’t be surprised to be addicted to his partner’s hands over him. His partner, his nemesis, his lover, his rival and, possibly, the last face he would see before dying. No when he was, in a sick twisted way, his other half and a reflection of himself. They were equals…Even if he didn’t like it.

Hannibal. Hannibal Lecter. Doctor Hannibal Lecter. His destroyer. His salvation.

The graceful man guided him across the room, swooning at the rhythm of the waltz, and all what Will could do was trying to follow him. Although, the older gave him enough space for not feeling overwhelmed or dominated. A graceful of illusion of free will. A trap. As if Hannibal hadn’t caught and entangled him on his web since their first meeting.

On a show of love, his ultimate defeating, Will closed his eyes and let his head rest on his partner’s shoulder. The space between them became non-existed. He could feel the warm heat coming for the doctor’s body and, also, sensed his heartbeats. Soon, he found himself dancing without following the music and, instead, dancing at the rhythm of Hannibal’s heart.
