“Doppio, I’m Doppio,” A laugh that had once been full of pure joyous energy was now a hoarse shadow of itself, which was cut off by a coughing fit. “Aha, no no I’m fine. I just need to drink some water. Hmm, I promise I’m good, Hex.” the magenta haired man stated before turning his head. Another laugh, no coughing this time, but it sounded thin and wrong.
“Good morning, Piochan. How are you doing today?”
“Ah! Fuuchan! Hello, hello, good morning good morning! Hex and I we’re just chatting about stuff we have planned this weekend.”
The white haired man’s voice was gentle. “How are the rest of XSoliel doing?”
“They’re good, they’re good, right Hex?” Doppio turned to where Hex had been before blinking as a moment of clarity washed over him. “Oh…wait…” he furrowed his brows puzzled before looking back at Fulgur. His senpai said nothing and gave Doppio the time to remember and readjust. “Ah…no, that’s not right. They’re gone…Sorry,”.
“You don’t have to be sorry Piochan,” Fulgur assured him and lifted a hand to pet his head, the hair was less vibrant than when they first met. Faded, all of them were. All that were left.
“Aha, it can’t be easy, ya know, reminding me all the time.”
“Millie is working on a spell that should fix you up.”
“Yea…” his voice trailed off as he stared aimlessly at the wall before seeming to notice Fulgur was there again. “Fuuchan! Good morning, good morning!”
Fulgur’s eyes widened in a moment of surprise before they softened again. There weren't many of them left, even if it meant tearing open his unhealed wounds time and time again, he’d do it for Piochan. He wasn’t going to leave him behind.
