Late afternoon, Gregory and Roxanne had just finished for the day making videos for there channel on Youtube where they were reacting to some old spooky stories on the internet. After publishing the video Roxanne decides it'll probably be time to make dinner as it's now 5pm and she decides to go with some Mac n Cheese since she knows Gregory really enjoys Mac n Cheese. Gregory on the other hand was sitting in his room feeling pretty good that their new videos will do pretty well but, then he thought of something else since they've decorated for Halloween and they've not made to many videos around horror outside of there personal life, Gregory thought maybe it'd be time they try playing a scary game.
"Hey, Roxanne?" Gregory said going to meet her in the kitchen.
"Oh, hey Gregory. I'm surprised you're out here already I just started making some Mac n Cheese for dinner." Roxanne said.
"That sounds very good actually, Roxanne." Gregory said excited.
Roxanne giggled but, could see Gregory was wanting to ask her about something. "You look like you wanna ask something. Do you have something on your mind Gregory?" She questioned. "Well yes, there is. I thought of an idea for are channel and since it's nearing Halloween, I was thinking we should start playing some spooky games that isn't FNAF related." Gregory suggested.
"Well, now that you mention it you make a good point. However, I think we need to cut some games out because they're a little much for your age like Outlast or Resident Evil just to name a couple." Roxanne said. "I know you've been through some tough horror as well in the past but, I think we need to keep it mostly just jumpscare themed and not very gory."
"Well do you have any ideas?" Gregory asked since he still doesn't know to many horror games that are small besides Poppy Playtime and a couple others.
Roxanne thought what could be a good horror game to playthrough on the channel, then she remembered a game Freddy once told her about one that was very popular before FNAF became a thing.
"There's one game that actually now comes to my mind, Gregory. Your father told me about this awhile ago before we met you and this game was actually very popular for a couple years until FNAF came around." Roxanne said. "Oh, what game is it?" Gregory asked curiously.
"The game is called Slender: The Eight Pages or just Slender and it's about basically walking around the woods and collecting notes while being hunted by the Slender Man." Roxanne explains.
Gregory then remembers he's heard of Slender Man once but, never thought much of it. Though, hearing the fact that he's got a game could be fun to playthrough especially since it was so popular back then maybe some people will feel nostagia seeing it again and newer viewers maybe will find it interesting seeing this classic title that was once very popular.
"I think that'll be a great game to play Roxanne. Imagine how spooky that'll be!?" Gregory said.
"Well then I think we got ourselves a game for tomorrow to playthrough." Roxanne said but, Gregory on the other hand though wanted to add on to the video.
"Y'know what would be a better idea just to make it better, Roxanne? We play it tonight when it gets really dark just to make it more scary!" Gregory suggested. "I'm not sure Gregory, Why don't we eat first and I'll think about it over dinner?" Roxanne suggested as the Mac n Cheese was about to be ready.
"Yeah, sure." Gregory said as he sits himself down at the table.
Later after Dinner.
"Thanks for dinner Roxanne. You're Mac n Cheese is always really good." Gregory complimented. "Thank you Gregory. I'm glad you enjoyed it." Roxanne said.
"So, what now? We going to play Slender tonight since it's getting dark out?" Gregory asked hoping Roxanne says yes. "Well, after some thinking Gregory. I think we can do Slender tonight just for the extra horror, hopefully it won't spook us to much." Roxanne replied making Gregory excited to play it.
Gregory then starts to head to his room for his set up but, Roxanne instead invites him to her set up not because it'll be just one of them playing but, also it's dark out and Roxanne figured they might as well get scared together. She then logs back into her computer and goes to download Slender: The Eight Pages, while she's waiting for the game to download she looks over at Gregory and notices him slightly shaking in.
"I thought you were excited to play this game Gregory but, you seem to be afraid." Roxanne said.
"I am a little scared mainly cause I've heard of the Slender Man before and I know what he does. Which has me thinking what if he ever took me away forever?" Gregory asked in a nervouse tone.
"Gregory, he's only a myth on the internet, just some silly story that people made up to scare others." Roxanne reassures him. "You'll be ok he's not gonna ever get you plus he'd have to go through me first to get you."
"Thanks Roxanne." Gregory said and gave her a hug.
Gregory then looked at Roxanne's computer and sees that the game finished downloading and is ready to be played. Roxanne sets all the recording up and is about to his record but, before she does she decides to pick Gregory up and set him down on her lap just so he ain't as scared. Once Gregory was ready they hit the record button and start there video.
"Tonight we're playing through Slender: The Eight Pages!" Gregory shouted.
"Come along with us as we try are best to collect all 8 pages before the Slender Man takes us." Roxanne said. "We're also playing this late at night so, it's pretty dark outside and we figured we would add more to this spooky episode."
"Leave a Like and Subscribe or Slender Man will take you away forever!" Gregory shouted.
With the intro done they begin to playthrough the game.
After 20 minutes of recording Roxanne and Gregory finish up the video both, a little freaked out from what they just played through. They took turns both playing the game, Roxanne collecting 4 out of 8 pages and Gregory managing to get 5 out of 8 pages, both getting jumpscared by Slender Man repeatedly thoughout there video.
"Well, I don't know about you Gregory but, I'm quiet spooked from that. How do you feel?" Roxanne asked.
"I'm also quiet spooked." Gregory said getting closer to Roxanne. "I just hope are fans like it but, that was one of the scariest games I've played."
"Well it was a lot especially for tonight." Roxanne said holding Gregory close to comfort him. "I'm sure are fans will enjoy it but, for now I think we need to sleep since it's getting late now. I'll tuck you in cause I know you're spooked a little."
Roxanne brought Gregory to the bathroom so he could brush his teeth and helped him into bed but, also handed him his sweater since it's been a little cold these past nights and his sweater helps kim more warm under his covers. Roxanne says her good nights to Gregory and prepares to leave but, feels him grab her hand. She then sat next to Gregory for a little longer to help calm him down.
"You're gonna be ok, Gregory. Like I said before playing the game he's not real he's only an internet story." Roxanne said while rubbing the back of her hand over Gregory's cheek.
"I know Roxanne, it's just the thought still freaks me out and seeing him in the game was very scary for me. I shouldn't have asked to play this game tonight." Gregory said as Roxanne then gave gives him a hug.
"Things will be ok and if you need me you know where I am." Roxanne reassures him and gives him a kiss as he lays back down. "Now get some sleep Gregory alright? I love you."
"Love you too." Gregory said as Roxanne gets up and leaves his room. "Hopefully I can get some sleep and maybe I'm just over thinking it."
"Poor Gregory, maybe playing that game this late wasn't the best idea." Roxanne said looking back to his room as she also prepares to sleep. "Hopefully, tomorrow he'll be ok as I need to sleep as well."
Roxanne sets herself down on the couch and drifts off to sleep.
Later during the night Gregory starts to wake up from feeling stressed and thinks about going to see Roxanne but, as he looks around he noticed himself now in the woods. Gregory got up and looked around hoping that his home would be nearby but, couldn't see nothing beyond the woods then, he tried calling out for Roxanne if he's here surely she'd be here also.
"Roxanne, Roxanne are you out there!!??" Gregory shouted in fear hoping to get a response. Looking over to his left though he sees something on the tree, what looks to be a page.
"Always Watches No Eyes." Gregory said reading the page. "No, it can't be real, you're not real just a Myth!"
Upon reading the note Gregory began to hear something that sounded like heavy footsteps around him. Now panicing and realizing this is actually happening Gregory then turned around and saw the tall figure in the distance, wearing his suit, with no face, and tentacles coming out from his back The Slender Man. Gregory then screamed and turned to start running away since that was all he could think of right now.
Somewhere else in the woods Roxanne begins to wake up and notices she's also out in the woods. She took a moment to process how this happened, as she thought to herself this must be only a dream Slender Man isn't real. She then thought of Gregory and wondered if he's out here possibly as well.
"Gregory!? Gregory!?" Roxanne hollered but, got no response.
She decided to activate her eyes to see if she possibly could find him but, all of a sudden her vision began to get all static. She held her head as the static was starting to increase but, then it soon stopped and her vision got clear again. Roxanne got up and looked around only to notice a page on a nearby tree that said, (Help Me) after reading the page she then heard a scream in the distance that sounded similar to Gregory and began running in it's direction.
Gregory was starting to run out of breath, he wanted to stop but, every time he looked back he'd see Slender Man standing there but, also closer to him. Gregory then looked back again but, this time saw nothing back there and gave this moment the time to catch his breath but, it didn't take long for that sound to comeback only this time it sounded more like the sound from the game he and Roxanne heard when they both got the 3rd page. Looking around again making sure Slender Man is nowhere in site but, the trees and fog were so tense he could be anywhere but, then Gregory ended up hearing something running to him in the distance and a familiar voice.
"Gregory! Where are you Gregory!?" Gregory was relieved to hear Roxanne's voice again and began running to her as she appeared from out of the fog.
"Roxanne, I'm here!!" Gregory hollered as he came into her view.
"Gregory, I heard your scream way back there." Roxanne said as she embraced Gregory.
"Roxanne, it's Slender Man! He's here and he's been chasing me!" Gregory said as the sound begins to get lounder.
"We have to run now Gregory and figure out how to escape from these woods." Roxanne said concern as the sound began to get even louder and grabs Gregory's hand as they both begin to run away.
Roxanne and Gregory kept running for a while and though Roxanne could run forever since she's an animatronic Gregory couldn't and he needed to catch his breath again. The sound they've been hearing soon started to sound like the wind but, more demonic and it kept getting louder and which started to make both of panic even more as they both know Slender isn't to far behind.
"HE'S BEHIND US ROXANNE!!" Gregory shouted tightening his grip on Roxanne's hand as he looked behind him and saw Slender Man disappear behind a tree. "HE'S GONNA CATCH US!!"
"HE'S NOT GOING TO GREGORY!! KEEP GOING, AND DON'T LOOK BACK!!" Roxanne shouted as she's never been this scared before in her life.
"I can't keep up Roxanne!" Gregory said loosing his breath.
"Gregory jump on my back, on my back now!" Roxanne said but, had no response from him. "Gregory, what are..." Before she could finish she turned around to check on him but, was met with a white hand grabbing her in the face and pinning her on the tree as her vision was full of static and she passed out.
Roxanne after awhile managed to wake up after what happened to her but, as she was able to see properly again she realized Gregory was nowhere in sight. She didn't know if he was hiding or if Slender took him after she got knocked out.
"Gregory!? GREGORY!!??" Roxanne shouted hoping to hear a response but, there was nothing but, crickets chirping in the distance, not even that horrifying sound that was playing when Slender was around was playing.
Roxanne quickly jumped up and started running through the woods hoping to find Gregory before Slender Man does anything to him. While running she looked around her and kept seeing these black marks on some trees, even the X on a circle on some to show Slender was here and is in the area. After running for a bit she got to a small open area and looked around hoping to catch a glimps of any sign of Gregory until she spotted Slender Man walking in the distance and started charging him.
"HEY, TELL ME WHERE HE IS!!" Roxanne shouted at Slender but, he didn't respond or acknowledge her at all. "ANSWER ME YOU BASTERD!!"
What caught her off guard after a moment was Gregory now appearing and walking with Slender Man like there friends. Roxanne froze in place seeing her son keep walking with this monster like nothing was wrong and was holding his hand like a parental figure.
"Gregory." Roxanne said relieved to see him alive and well but, also worried too. "GREGORY GET AWAY FROM HIM!!" She shouted. Still seeing no reaction from either of them Roxanne decided to release her scream sound affect which got the attention of Slender Man.
Slender Man turned around which made Roxanne tremble in fear as she saw the tall figure now approaching her but, she readied her claws to attack him. Slender was now only a few feet away from her but, before she attacked she looked down towards Gregory who still hasn't moved at all and wondered why he's not running away.
"GREGORY, RUN NOW!!" Roxanne shouted as she leaped towards Slender Man with her claws but, once she was about to hit him Slender Man disappeared. Roxanne looked around and didn't see him anywhere until she felt a hand grab her shoulder and push her to the ground, trying to get back up but, Slender Man knocked her back down once again. She managed to get up after that and went to swipe Slender Man with her claws but, he caught her right hand with his own and had a firm grip on it.
"WHAT DO YOU WANT WITH HIM!!??" Roxanne hollered in fear and anger. Slender Man responded by twisting and breaking Roxanne's hand which caused her to scream in pain for a moment until Slender Man then grabbed her throat and face and began to make her malfunction all Roxanne could see was Static in her eyes and hear a loud sound as Slender's face was all she could see in the static.
Before Slender Man could finish her off Gregory walked up to him and gently grabbed his arm shaking his head no to not kill her which he then put her down on the ground. Roxanne got her vision back and was breathing heavily while also gripping her hand where it broke, as she looked up and saw Gregory and Slender Man face to face with each other.
"Gregory?" Roxanne said in a scared tone as he turned to look at her then smiled at her like he did in the past. "Gregory, no..." She said now with a sad look on her face as she sees Gregory take Slender Man's hand and they began walking off into the woods.
"Gregory...wait, where are you going..?" Roxanne said now ready to cry as she tries to get back up but, had no energy and strength as she fell back to the ground and her hand was in so much pain.Then her vision started to get all static again she watched with what little vision she had left as Gregory and Slender man went further into the woods and fog never to be seen again.
Roxanne then woke up again back in her house this time and she sat up instantly breathing heavily and realizing she's ok and also her hand was still functioning. Roxanne all shakened up walks over to the bathroom and rinces her face with water just to help calm herself down and slow her breathing down a little but, then she remembered Gregory and went to go check up on him. When she looked into his room she noticed Gregory sitting up in his bed shaking in fear almost like he had the same Nightmare she just had.
"Gregory?" Roxanne said kneeling down to him. "Did you just have a nightmare about Slender Man as well?"
"I did." Gregory said now in tears. "He basically took me and you to the forest and knocked you out. Then you tried to save me but, he broke your hand and I walked into the woods with him and just left you to die."
"I think we had the same Nightmare Gregory." Roxanne said now holding him close to her. "He really messed with are minds after that game Gregory and I'm just glad you're also safe cause it felt to real."
"Can we sleep together just to make each other feel more safe and comfortable?" Gregory asked still crying a little.
"I actually feel like that'll be nice Gregory as I'm also to spooked to sleep alone myself." Roxanne said as she got into bed with him. "Sleep better Gregory now that we're together."
"You to Roxanne." Gregory said laying back down while calming down a little, Roxanne now using her tail as another cover to keep Gregory comforted.
Roxanne and Gregory will likely not be playing Slender again for a long time but, until someone was watching them for the moment.
