She went to her locker. “Quinn!”
She turned to see who was calling her name she saw Artie Abrams
“Artie are you enjoying your freshman year?”
“Yeah. Thought I recognized you last week you seemed so busy.”
Quinn bent down to hug him
"Quinn does anyone know?"
"No, I still can't believe how it all went down. I'm trying to lay low until Frannie gets things in order."
"I have a solution come live with me."
"I couldn’t do that."
"Why you have lived with us before remember you lived the entire summer at my house when you were ten I was nine."
"I know. I have to wait and see what Frannie does first."
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah thank you for everything over the summer."
"Hey Quinn you know Stubbles McCripple-Pants?" Santana replied
"He is not a gimp his name is Artie and he is my friend. Do not ever address him that way again.”
“Sorry. I’m Santana. This is Brittney.”
“Hi. “Artie told them he turned to Quinn he spoke to her, “Quinn lets catch up at lunch.”
“I would but I have an assignment due and I have to finish it.”
“How do you two know each other?” Santana asked
“I was four Artie was three. We both sat down to play with the play doh and he grabbed the purple.”
“She stated crying she wanted the purple. I got it first. Eventually a teacher came and split the purple play doh in half.” Artie told them
“We played happily together all day. We have been friends ever sense.”
“She helped me through my accident.”
“They dropped me off. They were twenty minutes away from their home. When a drunk driver hit them.” Quinn told the girls
“Sorry that’s a bummer.” Brittney said
“Artie swing by my locker I’ll drive you home.”
“Okay. Later.” Artie told Quinn
The day went by quickly. Quinn had been looking forward to going to the Abrams home.
Quinn slid on a pair of cheer pants on.
“So do you have to wear your cheer uniform all the time?”
“Yeah. I wish we didn’t have to I have clothes I would like to show off. ”
Quinn and Artie walked to her car. Artie had called his mom and told her he had a ride home.
Quinn opened the door for him
"Do you need help?"
"No. I got it." Artie said getting in perfectly.
Quinn put his wheel chair in the back as she folded it up
She got into the driver’s side
"You could stay in my old room."
"I know Artie but it's complicated right now."
“ I couldn’t imagine. What you’re going through.”
“It’s so hard what kind of parents do what they did.”
“ I don’t think many.”
Quinn scoffed she pulled into Artie’s drive way.
“Frannie drove her car here we were sleeping in her car and using mine to drive around. “
Quinn got Artie into his chair and wheeled him up to the ramp they both walked in
Nancy ran to Quinn and hugged her tightly she turned to see Ben Abrams he looked exactly like Artie or Artie looked like his father
He hugged Quinn as well.
Quinn hugged Frannie
Artie's Sister Sarah gave Quinn a hug as well as did his younger brother Jed. Short for Jedidiah. He was ten soon to be eleven.
"Quinn I have to go to school. If I don’t I lose my scholarship. We can’t keep living out of my car and driving your car around. Its getting colder and we can’t live in my car over winter. You deserve better. Quinn as much as I want to take care of you. I’m not able too I’m not twenty one.”
“Frannie It’s my fault.”
“No, Quinn none of this is your fault. None of this my fault. Your safe here until this gets solved. I don’t want you in foster care.”
Quinn sobbed into Frannie’s arms
“It will be okay.”
Quinn nodded
“Quinn, Mom and dad can’t contact you or have anything to do with you.”
Quinn nodded.
“Frannie, promise me you will be back and that you won’t abandon me. “
“ Quinn I will be back. I will never abandon you. That’s why I’m leaving you here. We trust them they are family. “ Frannie told her
Quinn nodded
They went to say goodbye to the girls.
Quinn hugged her sister crying.
“I love you Quinnie. You will be okay. “
Quinn watched Frannie drive away.
“Come on I’ll fix you a snack.” Nancy told the teen
“Will she be back? Other than you she is the only family I have. “
“Quinn, Frannie loves you very much. You two have a bond. She placed you here because she knows you will be safe. You don’t have to worry about anything. If you wanted to drop the Fabray name and take ours we would be happy to welcome you as an Abrams.”
“You would let me do that?”
“Yes. I think the boys are happy to have you here. Ben and I are too. Grab your backpack you can do your homework while I make dinner. “
Quinn obeyed and grabbed her back pack from her car
“We can go shopping after school tomorrow for some new clothes.”
“Okay. Miss. Sylvester makes us wear our cheerleading uniforms to school. She says we need to wear them. “
“Why I have never heard of such a policy until Sarah had to wear her uniform to school every day. I never understood why she does that.”
“I get so cold.”
“I know you girls do. Let’s go upstairs I’ll show you your room. “
Quinn dropped her bag by the door and followed Nancy upstairs. It was Artie’s old room. Nancy had found a nice purple comforter it was the dye
“I love the comforter. “
“I found it online I had to buy it. It’s too girly for the boys. Perfect for you. “
Quinn nodded she hugged Nancy
“Your clothes are in your closet. In the drawers are your pyjamas and comfy clothes. “
Quinn nodded
"Come down once you get changed."
Quinn went to her dresser she grabbed a pair of purple champion joggers and put on the matching hoodie and a pair of warm socks she hung her Cheerios uniform on the back of her door and went downstairs. Artie had already moved from his chair to his chair at the table.
Quinn got her bag and sat at the table.
Nancy placed several epi pens in font of Quinn
“Where did you get all of these?”
“Frannie had a box of them in her car. She told Sarah that she wanted to be prepared just in case. She said your parents ever really cared. So she took it into her own to make sure she had more than enough. I don’t know how she got the money to buy all of these. “Nancy told Quinn
“Probably stole the money from my parents.”
“Did you steal money from them?”
“Yes. They were both too drunk to notice. They never knew.”
"I hate strawberries, peaches, cherries, apples, raspberries and blackberries. “Jed responded
"I don't have an issue with apples or peaches. I don’t like peaches. I have had reactions to Blackberries, raspberry's and cherries." Quinn replied to Jed as Nancy put some chocolate chip cookies on the table. Giving the kids some milk to dip them into
Quinn smiled and took a cookie she felt at home. This was her home. With what had taken place over the summer she felt safe for the first time sense than. She felt like she finally found a family to love her.
