“Do not worry, I have a few knives up my sleeve.” Sky said, fingers diving beneath the belled arms of her kimono. Garleans, who were brandishing weaponry, surrounded her and Phearless. They had ambushed the pair while they were camping on their way back from a job, and Phearless was cursing that his axe was laying mere malms away behind one of the Garleans.
“Don’t you mean cards?” Phearless asked, taking his eyes off the enemies long enough to glance at the little Astrologian.
“No, I do not.” Slim stiletto knives flashed out, and Sky leapt forward. She bowled one over, clearing space for Phearless to dive through for his axe. The Roe came up swinging, scattering the soldiers easily.
“Never been more in love than I am right now.” He laughed, sinking his axe into his foe.

“I must be frank with you all.” Sky began, looking between her comrades with a solemn expression. There were issues they needed to address before they could fully start the Free Company that they had been planning for some time.
“I don’t see how changing your name is going to help, but go for it.” Phearless said, grinning widely down at his significant other. Sky blinked, starting to retort.
“Can I still be Opal?” Her Seeker friend snickered from the couch where she was seated.
Myra waved her hands, looking dead serious. She gestured for the others to stop talking. [You need to let Frank speak.] Opal and Phearless lost it, howling with laughter as Sky stood throwing up her hands and stomping out of the room.
“See you later, Frank!” They called in unison.

New members of the FC stood in front of them. Sabella and F’lar had recently joined, and Sky and Phearless were hanging out with the mismatched couple. Sky patted Phearless’s arm, looking up at him lovingly.
“Phear and I have that easy chemistry. The one where you finish each other’s – ” Sky was interrupted by her significant other.
“Sentences.” Phearless supplied, laughing. Sky stopped, turning to face him with a stormy expression.
“Do not interrupt me.”

“I have been expecting you, Phearless.” Sky said, voice with a hint of a threat as she turned the chair around slowly. It was perfect, she was backlit by the window, and frankly felt quite menacing. The Roegadyn blinked from the doorway, glancing around.
“How did you do that without turning around?”
Sky’s face fell, and she glanced away as her cheeks flushed. “I may have terrified Vi and Rose, and maybe a few others, because the first couple of people I did that to were not you.”

Sky stood stiffly, holding the book which was now quite battered and with a broken spine. She’d let him borrow it for something to do on his newest job, and this was how he’d returned it. She was trying to count to ten. Trying to breathe deeply. Nothing was helping the rising fury.
“Menphina give me patience.” She muttered as she stared up at the Roegadyn, who at least had the decency to look abashed.
“It’s ‘give me strength.’” He said softly, trying to distract her. Sky’s eyes widened, feeling an every growing urge to leap up and strangle her lover.
“If The Tweleve gave me strength, you would be dead.” She said, voice low. She spun, walking away before she did something she regretted.

“You are a liar! You must be cheating, you cretin.” Sky shouted, pointing down at Phearless. She stood over him, anger coloring her cheeks a darker blue. He was similarly angry, but was maintaining his seat for the moment.
“You’re the idiot who thinks you can just get away with whatever you do. THIS IS THE REAL WORLD, SKY!” Phearless bellowed, throwing his hands up in frustration.
“That is it! I am leaving you, and I’m taking Opal with me.” Sky said, turning her gaze on to their Seeker friend. Opal threw her hands up, looking startled. Myra looked between everyone, tilting her head.
[I think it’s time to stop playing now.] She signed before starting to pick up the Monopoly board. Game Night at the BBC could get messy, usually when Opal and Phearless were losing, but tonight Sky was the one looking like she was ready to jump someone.

“I know you snuck out last night, Phearless.” Sky said from where she’d been waiting in the café for her significant other and his best friend. The Roegadyn and Opal froze in the stairwell, eyes locked on the Keeper miqo’te. Sky was clutching a coffee cup, looking very much like she’d been up for some time.
“Quick, play dumb.” Opal said softly, looking between the couple. They’d been out together, visiting an underground fight club they both knew Sky would disapprove of.
“Who’s Phearless?” The Roegadyn said, glancing down at Opal in confusion before turning back to his partner. Sky made a noise, and her hand tightened on the coffee cup.
“Not that dumb!” Opal groaned, throwing her hands up in submission before their friend. “It was all his idea.”

Sky held an application in her hands, looking over it happily. Their Free Company was growing swiftly, as she couldn’t be more pleased. She glanced up to her friends, who were all sitting around the café doing various tasks. “We’re getting someone new in the FC.”
“Are we stealing them?” Opal looked up from where she was kneading dough for her latest batch of pastries.
“New or used?” Came Phearless’s response from beneath a table he was repairing.
[Do they know their joining?] Myra signed, not looking up from the journal where she was making notes on something in a vial.
“Wonderful responses, all of you.” Sky sighed, stamping the application and beginning to write a letter to inform the person of their acceptance. “This is why none of you handle the applications.”

It was Valentione’s Day and Sky was bustling about the café to help Opal get ready for the crowd that was sure to be drawn in. Phearless strolled in, glancing around until he saw his partner and swooping in to plant a kiss on her lips. “How’s the sexiest person here?” He waggled his eyebrows as he looked down at her. She giggled, stopping what she was doing to cuddle into him.
“I do not know. How is he?” Sky smiled, looking up at him adoringly.
“I’m great! Thanks for asking.” Opal shouted from where she was elbow deep in icing cookies in the shape of hearts. Sky and Phearless paused, looking in her direction. “Get a room.”

Sky wandered in to where Opal was cooking. The smells wafting off the stove were mouthwateringly savory with a hint of spice. Phear was quick on her heels, lifting his nose and making a noise of appreciation.
“Any chance that’s for all of us?” Phearless asked, glancing over his friend’s shoulder at the simmering pot.
“It’s for Myra. I’m planning on making some bad decisions tonight and I need her on my side.” Opal said without missing a beat as she added another pinch of seasoning. Sky glanced between the two as Phearless nodded, clearly understanding.
“I never realized the forethought that went into being a disappointment.” The Keeper said, shaking her head as she walked back out.

“Ma’am, we need you to come with us.” The Limsan guard was stiff as he stood before her. She paused, heart stopping. She couldn’t think of anything she’d done that would require the attention of the guards. She nodded, following along meekly behind them. She’d just been trying to get some shopping done. Opal needed ingredients from the market here, some sea-gotten ingredient she couldn’t get elsewhere.
The man led her up to the Maelstrom tower, and opened the door. On entering, she spied two familiar forms. “I believe these belong to you?” He asked, annoyance apparent in his voice. Opal and Phearless waved to her from where they were sitting shackled on the bench.
“We didn’t start it.” They said simultaneously. Sky blinked, staring between the pair with incredulity. She glanced heavenward, reciting a prayer.
“I did not even bring you two with me!”

“I do not understand how you keep on doing this!” Sky shook a chart in the direction of the big Roegadyn. Somehow he had gotten coffee stains across her star chart, which was something that happened often. She didn’t understand how he was always in her space.
“You have your shit everywhere, Sky! I just went to look out the window. I didn’t know that was on the table.” Phearless snapped back. They continue on arguing back and forth about who was intruding upon who’s space.
“I spy with my little eye, something that starts with an ‘S’.” Opal snickered at their newest addition. The Xaela nodded solemnly, looking between the two.
[Is it ‘sexual tension’?]
