Error and Fresh been together for awhile and It was a rocky start. As neither had any idea how to care about someone other than themselves and take each other needs into consideration.
They had one sided fights almost daily, as Error would explode with anger over everything while Fresh couldn't figure out what in the Multiverse he was so upset over.
But with time Error learned how to control his anger and Fresh learned to understand and look at things through Error's view.
They enjoyed one another company a lot and had the same horrible dark humor and understood each other like no one else could.
They learned how to always meet in the middle too, so despite the Parasite Lack of emotions and the Glitch Haphephobia, those were never a problem to enjoy each other's company.
They would both say they couldn't imagine being with anyone else over one another.
But neither has said I love you yet.
They both knew Fresh couldn't love him, not really, but that didn't bother Error, Fresh was still with him and still provided affection in his own way.
And Error did love Fresh, he just been too afraid to say it, because what if the Parasite was horrified by it and decided to leave him, it's not that he thought Fresh would actually do that to him, He's just so used to everything he loved being taken away.
And what if saying it out loud the Multiverse takes it as a invitation to ruin his life again?
But he was tired of living in fear, Fresh deserve to know how much he cares for him.
He just... couldn't figure out how to actually get it out, everytime he tried his glitches would get so bad he doesn't think Fresh would even be able to tell what he's trying to say.
And half the time just having Fresh smiling face near his made him too anxious that he ends up backing out it last minute.
It wasn't until they were on a date in waterfall that he thought of a great idea!
The Echo flowers! they repeat what's said around them, So he could just say it to one of them where he'll feel less pressure because Fresh wouldn't be right beside him, and then bring the flower to the Parasite, where even his glitches from being too nervous won't mess it up.
He slowed to a stop looking at the flowers, and he was so engrossed in his idea he didn't notice Fresh stopped in their walk too.
"Brah are ya okay? Yo seem jittery"
He nervously glanced at the flowers.
"Y-Yeah I just- Give me a second"
Fresh frowned but didn't follow as Error walked away.
He just took the first flower he saw and pulled it out of the ground, it didn't actually matter which one he took.
He slared at it trying to convince himself to just say it, It wasn't even saying to Fresh face, it's not a big deal.
"I-I Love you" He force out.
There was no point in delaying this any longer than he already has.
He took a deep breath before walking back to where the parasite was.
"Hey homeslice, Ya sure yo-"
"Here!" The glitch shoved the Echo flower to the other chest.
"Oh thanks br-" "I love you. I love you. I love you-"
His eyes widened as he was interrupted by the repeated sentence.
"Don't say it back" The glitch immediately started before the parasite had a chance to respond. "I know you don't and I'm okay with that, I just wanted to tell you how I felt myself"
Fresh studied the flower before scanning the other skeleton, trying to figure out if he was serious or not.
Error just had a stiff smile that didn't quite reach his eyes.
"Thanks, Dat's totally tubular!" he exclaimed as a huge grin took over his face.
The glitch posture noticeably eased.
He was grateful Fresh didn't ask why he used the flowers to say it instead of just doing it up front, but he did know Error really well, he probably figured it somehow made it easier to say it.
"Can I?" Fresh stretch a hand out to him.
Error raised a brow, but slowly laid his hand tops the other, trying not to be too anxious over the touch.
Fresh softly brought his hand up to his mouth and very faintly kissed Error's dorsal side of his hand.
The touch made a shiver run down Error spine as his face flushed.
He chuckled. "What was that for?"
The parasite smirked "Better than just saying Thanks, right?"
Error rolled his eyes as a grin took over "Well, yeah, ain't you just a sweetheart?"
Fresh just snickered. "Right back at ya"
The parasite fully intertwined their hands. "Sooo, Ya wanna get back ta the rest of our walk?"
The glitch softly smiled. "That'd be nice"
I love yous, could still quietly be heard as they walked, as Fresh kept the flower.
