Chapter Text
Gon was sitting at his desk in his room, surrounded by a mess of papers and half-finished projects. He had been staring blankly at the wall for what felt like hours, lost in a sea of conflicting thoughts and emotions. Suddenly, the doorbell rang, jolting him out of his trance. He heard Aunt Mito's footsteps, shuffling towards the front door.
"Coming!" she called out in her sweet voice.
Gon had been sad for a while, depressed even. But the thing is, he didn't exactly know why.
It could be because he hadn't heard from Killua in months, and the thought of losing his best friend, was too much to bear. Or maybe it was because his father had once again disappeared without a trace, leaving Gon with more questions than answers. Or perhaps it was the recent loss of his grandmother that weighed heavily on his heart.
As his mind raced with different scenarios, Gon felt a lump forming in his throat. He tried to compose himself, not wanting to show any weakness in front of his aunt and caregiver. He heard her footsteps coming closer.
"Hey sweetie, I have a surprise for you!" Aunt Mito's voice echoed through the hallway. Gon tried to wipe away his tears hastily, hoping that his aunt wouldn't notice the quiet sniffles.
"What is it?" he called back, trying to sound enthusiastic.
"Come down and see!" Aunt Mito replied, her voice filled with excitement. As Gon made his way down the stairs, he could hear voices coming from the doorway. His heart skipped a beat as he caught a glimpse of silver hair.
"K-Killua..?" Gon stammered, hardly believing his eyes.
"Hey Gon, it's been a while, huh?" Killua greeted him with a small smile, and Alluka, the sweet girl she is, standing right next to him. Gon felt his eyes well up again, this time with tears of joy. Without warning, he tackled Killua in a tight hug, feeling his friend's arms wrap around him in return.
