Chapter Text

"I don't know, I just found him." Bluey said.

"Well seeing as I don't remember this and we both still exist that means multiverse theory is true." Adult Mackenzie said.

"Can you put me down..." Young Mackenzie asked.

"So can we keep him?" Bluey said, ignoring young Mackenzie.

"We can't just keep him, he needs to go home."

"But he's so cute plus he can be like our son!" Bluey's eyes sparkled.

"We are not using me as practice for a child!" Adult Mackenzie countered.

"Can you please put me down..." Young Mackenzie asked.

"Awwww but he'd be precious and we'd do a good job!" Bluey whined.

"Absolutely not! He needs to go back home." Adult Mackenzie huffed.

"Well he needs a place to stay in the meantime till we figure it out!" Bluey pouted.

"That's fine but we aren't raising him!"

"CAN YOU PUT ME DOWN!" Young Mackenzie yelled, flailing his arms and legs. Both adults went quiet as Bluey put him down. He huffed in annoyance trying to salvage some dignity. both adults looked away feeling embarrassed under the child's glare.

"uhm how did you get here uhhh me?" Future Mackenzie asked.

"I was just playing with my toys when suddenly I found myself in front of Blueys house. So I went up to the door and knocked and that's when I saw her!" Young Mackenzie said pointing to older bluey with daggers. "And she grabbed me and carried me out here."

Older Mackenzie looked at Bluey who put on a nervous smile. "I'm sorry he's cute, I just had to hold him!" She said gently. Older Mackenzie rolled his eyes.

"You and cute things babe I swear." Older Mackenzie sighed then young Mackenzies ears went up.

"Babe?! Are you two married!?" He said in shock as things started to register in the young boys mind.

"No!" They both said blushing. "We're just a couple... Spoilers." Future Mackenzie awkwardly answered.

Young Mackenzie put on a face of uncertainty and disgust at that reveal. "No way! Not with Bluey!"

"Hey!" Bluey pouted.

"Give it a few years mate. You'll realize how important she is." Older Mackenzie said as he reached and held Blueys paw smiling to her. Young Mackenzie just huffed crossing his arms.

"So now what? How do I get home!" Young Mackenzie asked with some annoyance.

"Uhm we don't know…" bluey said softly as she looked away.

"But in the meantime you can stay with us as a means to have a place to call home till we figure this out more ok?" Older Mackenzie offered.

Young Mackenzie sighed. "Alright…"

Bluey smiled. "Uhm Mackenzie?"

"Yeah?" Both Mackenzies said turning to Bluey. She frowned.

"That's gonna get annoying really fast. We need a nickname for your younger self." Bluey pondered for a moment thinking. She then snapped her fingers. "I got it. I'll refer to you as Kenzie like I normally do." She said pointing to adult Mackenzie. "And I'll refer to you as Mack when I want to talk to you!" She said pointing to young Mackenzie. "Sound good?"

The Mackenzie’s looked at each other for a moment then back to bluey both nodding in agreement. Bluey smiled as her tail wagged. Kenzie looked at Mack. "Come on. I guess we should catch you up to speed on things." The three of them entered the home. It was still the same heeler household that Mack remembers. "As you can see we live at Blueys place. By this point Bingo's moved out and is living on her own and Mr. and Mrs. Heeler have moved to a condo. Bluey here inherited the place. So we've lived here." Kenzie said smiling.

"How long have you lived here?" Mack asked.

"Well technically a few years. About a year after me and Bluey started dating I moved into the Heelers place." Kenzie admitted blushing.

"It was my idea! I wanted my babe with me and it helped with him learning to live on his own. His parents weren't up for the idea at first but with enough convincing they allowed it." Bluey added as she smiled.

"How old was I?" Mack asked.

"About 16 if I remember correctly." Kenzie answered. "Let me tell ya Mr. Heeler did not pull any punches with me. The choirs were such a pain! But I don't regret it one bit. They let me stay in the spare bedroom. Separate from Bluey for obvious reasons.-"

"Why? Is it because you guys would play games all night?" Mack asked, cutting himself off.

"Wait, how old are you?" Kenzie asked.

"7!" Mack proudly said.

"Yeesh you haven't had the talk yet then."

"What talk?" Mack asked.

"Nevermind that! Anyway, I lived here since I was 16 but we didn't inherit the place till I was about 22. We've  been living together here for the last 2 years." Kenzie smiled.

"It's been great! And now it will be even better with you here!" Bluey grinned eagerly.

"What does she mean by that?" Mack asked.

Kenzie sighed slightly. "Ok, so we've been talking about having kids. But we haven't decided yet. So with you here Bluey thinks we can practice being parents… by basically being your parents."

The three arrived at Blueys old room. Bluey opened the door to present it to Mack. "It'll be great I'm sure and it starts here! You'll be sleeping here. As you can see we changed my old room into a guest room but we can change it, however you like. We promise to take good care of you and be the best parents ever!"

Mack raised an eyebrow and looked at Kenzie. "Look, it'll be temporary till we figure out what's going on. Besides it's kinda your best option."

"What about Mum and dad?" Mack asked.

"Their grannies now mate. It wouldn't be right to ask them to raise me again. Just… give us a chance alright?" Kenzie said, sighing.

Mack looked down for a moment. He closed his eyes and huffed. "Alright…" he said.

"Hooray!" Bluey cheered. "Now go rest up. While we prepare dinner." Bluey said, walking past them. Kenzie looked down to Mack.

"We'll figure this out. Just get some rest like she said. Today has been crazy for you." Kenzie offered. Mack nodded and entered the room heading to bed and laying down. After a few moments he felt himself tear up. He took a breath. He didn't want to cry so he didn't let himself. He just wanted to be home again.
