Chapter Text

An Unfair Invitation

One day, some years ago, an unusual baby was born in China. Unusual, unless you count a baby literally glowing as normal. Since then, odd powers known as "quirks" spread throughout the globe. Soon after the glowing baby was born, a city in Japan called Yokohama closed its boarders for good. No one knows why, but because of it Yokohama is known as "The Quirkless City".

The rest of the world established what they call the Hero System. Being a hero was now a job you can go to school for, and anyone who defies this hero system is carelessly labeled a villain. Not in Yokohama, though. There's no hero system in Yokohama, nor is anyone labeled a villain. Instead, the city is run by three organizations, which has caused the public to view Yokohama as a city run by villains, and has long been considered an awful and miserable place to live. Of course, This is just what the public believes, since no one on the outside can enter Yokohama. Ask anyone who actually lives there and they'll say they're perfectly happy living in this "quirkless city". The controversy about Yokohama had died down over the years, but a recent event has caused the whole of Japan's internet to be talking about Yokohama nonstop.

The noisy Class 1A was silenced as their sleepy homeroom teacher Aizawa made his way up to the front of the class.

"Listen up, I have a very important announcement to make." He waited for the class to be silent and looking up front. "The Yokohamian government has offered a sponsorship to UA. They're willing to let us send this class on a month long trip into Yokohama." The second Aizawa stopped speaking, the class erupted in questions.

"Yokohama? The city run by villains?" "Isn't that dangerous?" "Nobody has quirks there, right?"

"Listen! I'm not finished yet," Aizawa silenced the class once again. "Unfortunately... not everyone in this class is able to go. Since Yokohama is a city without quirks, we are not allowed to use our own quirks there. That means, those of you with abilities that permanently alter your appearance and cannot hide altered parts easily will have to stay in Musutafu." Again, the whole class started up. This time, not with questions but with anger. Students with obvious mutations angry they're unable to take this trip of a lifetime, and the friends of these students upset their friends can't go too. The only thing Aizawa could do to try and calm the class down was assure them that this was not UA's decision to make, and if it were, all students would be allowed to go.

Of course, some students were still concerned about their safety, and so would their parents, no doubt. The Yokohama government had stated that the Armed Detective Agency would be in charge of student's safety. Which, 1A just had to hope were are trustworthy as Yokohama promised.

Two weeks later and it's time for qualified members of Class 1A to aboard the bus to Yokohama. Those who weren't able to come because of their mutations waved to their friends on the bus. This included Mina, Ojiro, Koda, Shoji, Tokoyami, and Hagakure. Jiro was allowed due to her earphones being easy to hide, and Tsuyu managed to convince the staff that she could hide her tongue.

On the bus ride, Aizawa made some clarifications. "As you know, nobody in Yokohama possesses quirks like we do. But there are a select few with powers called special abilities. What makes these different from quirks is that they manifest at birth, and cannot be inherited through genetics, causing the appearance of a special ability to be very rare. Since there are so few special abilities, when one does appear, it will much stronger and more dangerous than most quirks." "Mr. Aizawa, will we get to witness any of these special abilities on our trip?" asked a hero student with hair slightly reminiscent of broccoli. "I'm not sure Midoriya. Hopefully, you won't be seeing special abilities used inappropriately." Finally, after two hours of driving (the last half an hour everyone in the bus was asleep except for the driver, for a reason unknown to the hero students), they were inside the boarders of notorious Yokohama, Japan.

Chapter 2: The Unusual Armed Detective Agency

Summary:

1A has successfully entered the care of the Armed Detective Agency, and it's time to get settled in to this new environment.

It's only been twenty minutes, and Tanizaki already knows that problematic is an understatement to describe what the coming month will be.

Notes:

hi there ;)

hopefully this chapter won't be as short as the last haha

The Unusual Armed Detective Agency

Aizawa's POV

Aizawa found it quite odd that everyone conveniently fell asleep right as they were nearing the entrance to Yokohama. Even the students most excited to watch their arrival into the boarders had easily fell into slumber. If they were perhaps drugged in order to prevent anyone from finding out how to enter Yokohama boarders, they could have just informed Aizawa that everyone would be put to sleep. But they didn't, an suspicious act on Yokohama's part. In fact, this whole ordeal was awfully suspicious, but it wasn't like 1A's homeroom teacher would get a say in it, no matter how much Aizawa believes he should. But in the end, what was some pro hero to a whole government?

Aizawa waited for all the students to exit the bus before doing the same. He could hear many students complaining about falling asleep right before entering Yokohama. Aizawa couldn't tell if any of them were suspicious of the convenience of it all, or they just thought it was a coincidence. If it's the latter, clearly Aizawa needs to teach these students some better insight. That is unless they were not in fact drugged at all, and everyone falling asleep was a mere accident. Which was seriously unlikely considering they all fell asleep perfectly before entering the boarders of a heavily guarded, mysterious, isolated city.

The building that was supposedly the office of the Armed Detective Agency, who would be in charge of, and a kind of host for Class 1A, was located on a slope near the port of Yokohama. The office rested a few floors above a small café called Café Uzumaki on the bottom floor of the red brick building. Aizawa had a letter with information on what to do once everyone arrived at the building in a picture attached to the paper. The note instructed them to go the fourth floor, where the agency's office occupied. From there, they would meet the agency, who would provide them with further instructions. The letter also mentioned that if they had any trouble finding the agency, they could ask the barista in the café on the first floor. Aizawa led the hero students inside the building, where they were met with a simple, old-fashioned style café. Behind the counter, a middle-aged man stood wiping coffee mugs with a rag. He soon noticed the class's presence, and stopped wiping the mug to look at them.

"Ah," he said, "you must be Class 1A! You had a nice travel, I hope?" Aizawa stepped up to speak with the man. "Yes, it was fine, thank you. The Armed Detective Agency's office is on the fourth floor, correct?" "That's right. You can take that elevator right there, or there's stairs in the back. Six at a time on the elevator, though," the barista said, pointing an old fashioned elevator at the back of the café. "Thank you," Aizawa nodded, and led the hero students the elevator in the back. "You heard him, six at a time."

Six at a time, the fourteen students and one teacher (one for now, at least, until All Might shows up one day) rode the elevator up to the fourth floor. It took three trips total before everyone arrived in front of a wooden door, with a plate attached reading Armed Detective Agency.

Aizawa knocked on the door, and everyone waited silently as footsteps approached the door. A woman with purple hair cut into a bob and a butterfly hairpin opened the door. She looked at Aizawa, then behind him at the students, and seemed to take a second to remember that a whole class was arriving today. She turned her head back into the office, and called for the rest of the agency.

"Hey everyone! The hero students are here!" When she said this, the sounds of more footsteps approached the door, until there were a total of eight people staring at them. A tall blond man with a ponytail and glasses told everyone to let the hero students through, and so they did. The office had green tiled floors, basic wooden desks, one small closed off area with stain glass three-quarter wall, and a few plants sprinkled around. Now that they weren't squeezed into a hallway, Aizawa could clearly observe the people around them. The blond man with glasses who told everyone to move out of the way, the purple-haired woman who opened the door, a kid with gray hair and a...questionable haircut, a girl in a standard girl's school uniform with long black hair with her arms wrapped around a redhead boy in a white t-shirt, a man with wavy brown hair in a beige trench coat, and two people who looked to be around the same age as the hero students: a boy with a bright smile, overalls, and a straw hat, and a girl with dark pigtails and a red kimono. All very interesting characters in this detective agency.

"Hey, where's Ranpo-san?" asked questionable haircut kid, looking around. The purple haired woman shrugged and said, "Went somewhere with Poe, I think. At least he's not off somewhere on his own, I guess."

The blond haired man with glasses seemed to have been listening to this conversation, and cleared his throat. "It appears we have an absent member," he said with a hint of annoyance. "My name is Kunikida Doppo. As you can probably tell, I'm a member of the Armed Detective Agency. Our president is first in command here, but I have the job of second in command, meaning whenever the president is absent, you will be taking orders from me."

"So you're really a detective here?" asked the problem child Midoriya, mumbling with his face in his notebook. "Need I repeat myself?" Kunikida pushed his glasses further up the bridge of his nose. "No, sir!" Midoriya straightened his posture, clearly intimidated.

"Right. You must all be tired from your trip, so how about we get you situated with your living quarters first?" suggested the purple haired woman. Without waiting for any response, she requested for all the girls in the hero class to follow her. All the girls who had come along on the trip (which only ended up being four) obliged, and followed the woman back out the door they arrived in. The rest of the students followed the redhead who previously had the black-haired girl clinging to him out the door and to wherever they would be staying for the next month.

Yosano's POV

Yosano led the four girls to the vacant floor above them the agency had rented for the month in order to host the hero students. She was also told the boys would be on floor six, also rented out for the month. In order to break the silence, Yosano decided to introduce herself.

"I'm Akiko Yosano, by the way. Who are you girls?"

A girl with pink cheeks and brown hair answered first. "I'm Ochako Uraraka! It's nice to meet you, Yosano-san!"

"Tsuyu Asui. Ribbit. I like your hairclip," said a girl with long green hair. Yosano wasn't quite sure why she ribbited. Maybe it was part of her...what did they call them, quirks? Yosano thanked her for the compliment, and waited for the other two to speak.

"My name's Momo Yaoyorozu," answered a serious faced girl with her black hair tied back in a high ponytail.

Finally, the last girl spoke. She had short purple-ish hair, and what looked like earphones in her ears. Upon further inspection, however, it appeared they were literally an extension of her ears. "Kyoka Jiro." She has the same name as Kyouka, what a coincidence. "You're gonna need to hide those earphones. Can't be seen in public like that," Yosano told her. "I know. I'll hide them," Jiro assured.

Finally, they reached the room on the fifth floor in which the girls would be staying in. It was a simple room, based on a traditional Japanese style. A mat on top of a tatami floor, four futons for sleeping, a large closet, as well as an small room extension which was made into a changing room.

"The next room over is a bathroom, and the room at the end of the hallway is a fridge and a table. You'll probably be eating at restaurants often, but that's there for when you're not," Yosano explained. "Well, I'm still technically on the job, so I have to get back to the office. Make yourself at home, I'll come back for you in a bit."

Tanizaki's POV

The layout of the sixth floor was pretty much the same as the fifth, except for there being two sleeping rooms to compensate for the ten boys. Tanizaki observed many unique characteristics in the boys, such as an angry human chihuahua, a kid who's always mumbling, a three foot tall pervert, a boy who literally sparkled and claimed to be French, or perhaps the blue haired boy who reminded Tanizaki all too much of Kunikida, and that's only half of them. Only twenty minutes in, and Tanizaki already knew the next month would be nothing but chaos.

Pure. Chaos.

Abilities a quirk user could never dream of

Nobody's POV

The next morning was where the real fun began. The hero students had been gathered back in the agency's office after being told they would be assigned an agency member to shadow for a day. Other than Naomi, who had left, it seemed like everyone from yesterday was still there, with the addition of Ranpo, currently sitting on his desk.

"So these are the great hero students from Musutafu? So they let you see Yokohama, lucky you," said Ranpo, with what might have been a hint of sarcasm. He hopped off his desk and strolled confidently over to the hero students. He studied each and every one of the hero students, head to toe, before asking, "So which am I taking?" At this question, Kunikida pulled out a folded piece of paper from his pocket, unfolded it, pushed his glasses up his nose, before finally clearing his throat and reading out the assignments.

"Ranpo-san, you're taking Shoto Todoroki, Tsuyu Asui, and Denki Kaminari. By the way, would the students who's name I just called, please step forward?" Upon Kunikida's request, the three students stepped forward through the crowd. "Alright, they're yours now. Please don't do anything dangerous with them." Ranpo seemingly acknowledged this with a simple "Yeah, yeah", and beckoned the selected students to follow him back to his desk, where he began talking to them (which was probably just boasting about being the greatest detective). Kunikida turned back to the hero students and read out the rest of the assignments.

"Yosano-sensei, you're with Kyoka Jiro, Ejiro Kirishima, and Rikito Sato." While Kunikida was saying this, the student with balls for hair was looking hopeful, and dropped to his knees when he didn't hear his name called. "Let's see... Dazai, you're with Yuga Aoyama, Minoru Mineta, and Katsuku Bakugo." Dazai subtly glared at Kunikida after seeing his group, and was barely holding up a smile when Tanizaki leaned over to him and whispered "Good luck," into his ear."Tanizaki, you'll be taking Izuku Midoriya and Hanta Sero. As for the rest of you, you'll be coming with me. Please join your respective leaders and they'll explain the rest."

Dazai's POV

It was certainly no coincidence that Dazai would be spending the day with a self-absorbed "French" kid, a three foot tall balls-for-brains pervert, and a rage screaming human grenade. Out of all the groups, this was probably the most likely to anger someone Dazai didn't want angered. So, the first thing he'll do is make sure these kids are very aware of the kind of place Yokohama is.

Dazai led the three hero students to his desk to retrieve a recent case file, talking to the students as he did. "They told you you're forbidden from using your quirks, right?"

"Yeah, why is that anyway?" asked the short one. Dazai had been thinking of a nickname for him, and was having trouble deciding between Grapehead or Ballsy. "Well, that's pretty obvious. Nobody here has quirks, so seeing a group of kids with quirks would be kinda weird, right?" Dazai explained. "I guess, but don't some people here have special abilities? That means powers aren't unheard of here, so why can't we use ours?" Grapehead seemed intent on pushing the argument. "Look Grapehead, I don't make the rules. All I know is that you're not supposed to use your quirks. Listen," Dazai leaned in close to the three hero students and lowered his voice "this place is much different from Musutafu. There's some dangerous people here, and they're the last people you want to have a reason to hurt you. Just don't use your quirks and don't step out of line, they'll have no reason to harm you."

"What the hell? What do you mean-"

"Right! Let's get going!" Dazai had to cut off the human chihuahua before he caused too much of a commotion. He might have overdone it on the intimidating, but hopefully it would stop those kids from getting themselves killed.

The whole elevator ride Chihuahua was bombarding Dazai with questions and insults, which were left completely ignored. Everyone else was clearly growing annoyed, so Dazai attempted to shut him up by explaining the case.

"SO! There's a museum nearby with some expensive jewels and all that. As you can imagine, that stuff's bound to be stolen sooner or later. In this case, sooner. As in it's already happened. My job is to take a look at what's stolen and figure out who did it."

Thinking about the jewels reminded Dazai of something. Chuuya managed the gemstone black market at sixteen. Although, remembering that now was pointless. Chuuya isn't a part of the current case. For all Dazai knew, at least.

"Oi! I hear this city is run by villains. Is that true?" barked Chihuahua. "Run by villains? I guess they do say that, don't they..." Dazai mumbled. "So is it? Yes or no?!"

"Neither."

"What the hell do you mean neither?! Is it or is it not run by villains?"

"Think of it this way: your idea of the world is black and white. Ours is gray. You've got heroes and villains, and we've got, uh, not that," Dazai began. "Then what is there, huh? Sounds to me like villains!" Chihuahua challenged. Clearly, this would be hard to explain to him. With a sigh, Dazai continued. "Yokohama has no heroes nor villains. Us Armed Detective Agency members aren't heroes, meaning I can't say the Port Mafia are villains."

"M-mafia?!" Grapehead yelped. "I thought you said there wasn't villains here!"

"Nevermind! Forget I said anything," Dazai grumbled.

"Hey, wait! You can't just-" "Look! We're here!"

Finally, the four arrived at a large marble building, with pillars reaching all the way up the triangular-shaped roof. Four stories of artifacts, sculptures, and history. However, Dazai's day was not about the artifacts or sculptures. The issue here is the stolen gemstones.

"Well then, shall we go in?"

Tsuyu's POV

"Excuse me, uh... Ranpo-san? Where are we going?" Tsuyu asked as the detective they were assigned led her and two other classmates somewhere around Yokohama.

"Huh? Oh, I don't know," replied Ranpo with a shrug.

"You don't...know?" Todoroki said, puzzled. "It's your first day in Yokohama, right? Don't you wanna have fun? Besides, I'm your tour guide! And I'm pretty cool," Ranpo turned around and crossed his arms.

"Totally! I wanna go have fun!" Kaminari seemed elated at the idea of exploring Yokohama with Ranpo, until Tsuyu elbowed him, and he shut up with a quiet sorry. "You three want to see some detective work, right? Tell you what, I've got a friend who's got a little case to solve. Follow me!" Ranpo pointed a finger straight ahead and continued, the three hero students following close behind.

After a few minutes of walking, they came to an ally between a ramen place and an old hotel. It looked awfully sketchy to Tsuyu, especially since they were here to meet someone they don't know.

"Ranpo-san, who is this friend we're meeting?" she asked.

"You'll see." Ranpo took a deep breath, and then called out into the darkness, "Poe-kun! Are you here?"

Tsuyu couldn't help but jump a little when the sound of footsteps echoed from the alley. A tall man with hair covering his eyes emerged from the dark alley, and by his side, a...raccoon?

"Poe-kun, you look so shady! We're not trying to scare the hero students! Well, not now at least," Ranpo muttered under his breath.

"Do I look shady? Well, uh, I have the book. Here you go," the man, Poe, shoved a notebook into Ranpo's hands, looked behind him at the hero students, and timidly scurried around them and down the sidewalk.

"See ya!" Ranpo waved joyfully to the escaping Poe, who returned a small wave without turning around. After watching Poe disappear behind the edge of the street, Ranpo turned to face the hero students.

"So," he said, "who wants to go first?"

"What do you mean? And, what are we doing with that notebook?" Kaminari questioned. Ranpo smiled slyly, and said, "You'll see. So who's brave enough? How about you, green hair girl?"

He handed the notebook to Tsuyu, who took it hesitantly. It was about half an inch thick, and by the looks of it, every page was filled with handwriting. Tsuyu could tell by the feeling of the pages that the notebook was fairly old, the pages yellowed and a little crusty. She looked back up at Ranpo.

"What do I do with it?"

"Isn't it obvious? You open it!"

Tsuyu opened the notebook to the first yellowed page. Every word on the page was written in pen, with slightly slanted handwriting. Several words were scratched out and replacements were written underneath. Tsuyu directed her eyes to the first line. But no sooner had she read the first word had blinding yellow, ever-moving words stretched up from the page and swirled into the air, creating wind that blew her backwards. She instinctively dropped the notebook, but that hadn't stopped the pages' power from pulling her into old notebook. She squeezed her eyes shut until she couldn't feel the wind anymore. Slowly, Tsuyu opened one eye, and saw she was no longer on the sidewalk with Ranpo and the other hero students.

Now, she sat in the entrance hall to a western style manor. Infront of her was a red carpet leading all the way up the enormous stairway in front of her. A glass chandelier hung from the high ceiling, glittering in the light. Tsuyu stood up and paced to a large window next to the door, one that stretched almost the whole way up the wall. Outside, it was no longer day, but midnight. The bright full moon peaked out from beneath the gray clouds shifting above it, leaving not a single star in sight. Tsuyu hurried over to the two doors she had once been sitting in front of and grabbed the handles. She rattled the handles and pulled back as hard as she could, but the door wouldn't budge.

Locked.

Tsuyu stood there, pondering what to try next, when she realized she was no longer wearing her casual clothes. She now wore a fancy A-line dress reaching her mid-calf, with a portrait neckline and angel sleeves. It was a light green, to contrast her sea-green hair. Thankfully, she was wearing flatfooted shoes, and not impossible-to-walk-in heels.

"Wooaaah! That was crazy!" She whipped her head around to see the familiar Kaminari, in a blazer a little too big for him, struggling to keep his balance as he attempted to steady himself out.

"Oh, hey Tsuyu! Do you know where we are?"

"That's what I'm trying to figure out." Tsuyu continued pacing around the hall. Eventually, Todoroki arrived, landing on his feet, a little unsteady, be it. At least his suit actually fit him. After him, Ranpo was transported into the manor, landing perfectly, without any uneasiness. He had on a fancily tailored black vest over a dress shirt, and his hat was missing.

"We just got teleported into a book! That was so cool!" Kaminari exclaimed, and received a side eye from Todoroki.

"I know, right! Poe-kun's ability is awesome!" Ranpo beamed. But his and Kaminari's fanboying was interrupted by the sound of a grandfather clock. It struck once, twice, thrice, and struck nine more times, making twelve whole counts. It must be exactly midnight.

"Twelve strikes," Ranpo recounted. "The mystery has begun."

Chapter Text

A message had been sent to the Armed Detective Agency's group chat. It was from Fukuzawa, requesting a status report on all the groups. Yosano, Tanizaki, Kunikida, and Dazai had responded with positive answers. There was no reply from Ranpo, due to the lack of cell service in Poe's book. Fukuzawa was the only one who knew where Ranpo had taken his bunch of hero students. He was opposed to the idea at first, though after some persuasion from Ranpo, Fukuzawa agreed, albeit reluctantly.

Aizawa had remained behind at the Agency's office, and Kenji, who wasn't leading a group, was keen to talk to him.

"Are you enjoying Yokohama, Aizawa-san?"

"Yes, it's very beautiful here." Aizawa paused, before mentioning something he had been thinking about since he got to the Agency. "I notice there are detectives here who are quite young. I believe you yourself are younger than my own students, correct?"

"I guess so. I'm fourteen myself, so I think I am younger than your students. You see, with organizations in Yokohama, age doesn't really matter. As long as your qualified in other factors, you're hired! Although, being a detective at the Agency is just my part time job. I mostly work at the farm back home. Personally, I consider myself as a farmer rather than a detective."

"I see," Aizawa said. "I don't imagine they give you any dangerous missions, since you're so young, right?"

"I think that depends on what you consider dangerous, sir. My missions are nothing I can't handle, so I don't consider them dangerous. That's just me though," Kenji explained.

"As long as you're not being endangered." It seemed like Aizawa was satisfied for now, and Kenji had returned to his work. Aizawa pulled a phone from his pocket, and excused himself from the room.

Outside the door, Aizawa listened to the ringing phone held to his ear, waiting for a response. After three rings, the person at the other end of the line finally picked up.

"Where are you? You were supposed to be here an hour and half ago," Aizawa demanded. All Might, the person on the other end of the phone, was supposed to arrive at ten in the morning. It was currently 11:30.

"What? Oh, yeah, sorry about that. Real heavy traffic, looks like a truck crashed. I'd help them but my driver won't let me out."

Aizawa sighed. "Geez. You're All Might, they should let you help. Whatever, guess I'll see you." The two teachers exchanged their goodbyes, and hung up. Aizawa then made his way to the elevator and returned to his room.

Tanizaki's POV

Truthfully, Tanizaki had no plan whatsoever for what to do with his group. Though unlike the other members, he was only tasked with two hero students. Still, these two students were a bit...eccentric. One boy, who's hair reminded Tanizaki of a broccoli head, had been mumbling to himself the whole time the group was walking. He kept scribbling quickly in a notebook, resembling that of his coworker, Kunikida. The other had weirdly cartoonish teeth, perfectly straight and separated by perfect, thin lines. Tanizaki also learned that his quirk was the ability to dispense tape from his elbows.

"So... can you remind me of your names?" asked Tanizaki awkwardly, in an attempt to break the silence.

"I'm Izuku Midoriya, sir," the broccoli-haired boy answered, finally stopping his mumbling and writing. Tanizaki was a little taken aback by the sir he used, and insisted there was no need for such formalities. Tanizaki wasn't much older than these hero students, after all.

"Hanta Sero. It's nice to meet you, uh-"

"Tanizaki. Call me Tanazaki."

"Excuse me, Tanazaki-san, where are we going?" Big thanks to Midoriya for asking the question Tanizaki least wanted someone to ask, for he himself did not have the answer.

In an attempt to seem like he knew what he was doing, Tanizaki asked, "Is there anything you were looking to see?"

"Hm.." Midoriya scanned the city. "What are those buildings?" He was pointing to the five tallest buildings in Yokohama, which Tanizaki immediately recognized as the Port Mafia base. Well shit. He couldn't really tell the hero students about a literal mafia headquarters smack dap in the middle of the city. The already skeptical teachers would not like that.

"It's a... major organization in Yokohama. Not really that interesting." There, that way the students' attention should be brought away from the Port Mafia, without straight up lying.

"Huh." Sero shrugged. "Hey, is that a Ferris wheel? Could we check that out?" To Tanizaki's relief, the tape kid seemed to have come up with an idea. A Ferris wheel was a much better activity than visiting the mafia.

"Sure, we can go on the Ferris wheel!"

"Really? Detectives are so cool, dude! Our teacher would never let us do this!" Sero was so excited, it was like he had never been on a Ferris wheel before.

"Yeah, thanks Tanizaki-san. You are pretty cool." It surprised Tanizaki how Midoriya could just throw out a compliment like that so casually. The only response Tanizaki could squeeze out was a weak "Oh, thank you".

The hero students did a fair amount of sightseeing on the way to the Ferris wheel. Tanizaki did feel a little bad for not technically doing what he was supposed to, showing the hero students a look into the life of a Detective Agency member, but what was he supposed to do? He had no cases at the moment, and without any detective work to do, Tanizaki was simply a regular citizen. Minus the whole ability thing, but that he typically didn't use in daily life.

"So there really are no quirks here, huh?" Midoriya was looking around at all the people walking around the city. "In Musutafu, you'd see people with all kinds of quirk-induced mutations. Like some of our classmates, who were forced to stay back due to being unable to hide their quirks." Assuming Midoriya was talking to him, Tanazaki continued the conversation.

"Really? Like what?"

"Well, there's Mina, who's, well, pink. Or Ojiro, who has a giant tail. Oh, and Shoji, who has multiple sets of arms, and there's also Hagakure, who's literally invisible."

"Wow. Too bad they couldn't come, that was probably really disappointing. Look, there's the Ferris wheel!"

The three had reached the famous Cosmo World. Well, Cosmo World wasn't really what's famous, it's just the Ferris wheel that people know about. Midoriya made a comment about it being bigger up close, and Sero was already hurrying to get in line. Tanizaki followed, watching the people getting off the enclosed seats. Whilst people watching, he noticed a rather odd looking kid getting off the Ferris wheel alone. They had two-toned brown and white hair, with a miniature hat resting on top. They wore a yellow scarf around there neck, and a red purse of some kind hung from their shoulders. Straining his eyes, Tanizaki also noticed them carrying a creepy looking doll. After seeing the doll, Tanizaki's eyes widened with realization.

A little while back, Naomi had told Tanizaki about an encounter she had with a Port Mafia member. She said she had been with her friend Haruno on a train, when they ran into a kid who's description exactly matched that of the child who just left the Ferris wheel. She said they had some kind of mind-control ability, and used it on Atushi when he came to pick her up. If he recalled correctly, Naomi said the kid's name was Q.

Tanizaki paid the worker controlling the Ferris wheel, and the three boarded. Midoriya and Sero spent the whole ride marveling at the view, Tanizaki found himself stalking that Q kid. His overall presence, even from this high up, was just plain unsettling. Tanizaki had began to worry about something happening to the hero students he was tasked to guide. Luckily, Tanizaki caught himself before imagining the worst case scenario, and managed to rationalize his thinking. He'll just lead the hero students back to the agency immediately, despite being early. His untimeliness should be excused if he explains he felt the students were in danger.

Tanizaki and the hero students exited the Ferris wheel once it reached the bottom, Midoriya and Sero gleefully talking about what they saw. Tanizaki scouted the area cautiously again, realizing he had lost track of Q after he left the Ferris wheel. If his nerves weren't set off already, they definitely were now. He remembered how Naomi had talked about Dazai being genuinely serious for once, no trace of a smile, after her first encounter with Q. If this kid alone was enough to concern Dazai, it was more than enough to concern Tanizaki. He timidly turned to face the hero students.

"Hey, you guys, lets head back to the agency now, okay?" As expected, this sudden announcement discouraged the hero students.

"What? But we just left, like, forty minutes ago!" Sero complained.

"I know, I'm sorry! But there's just, uh... something I need to do..." Again, Tanizaki was unsure how much information to disclose of to hero students.

"Please tell us what's wrong, Tanizaki-san! You were acting strange the whole time on the Ferris wheel," Midoriya insisted. Tanizaki sighed, these kids probably wouldn't give it up.

"Alright fine, I'll explain on the way." The three began walking back the agency, while Tanizaki confessed why they were leaving so early.

"Well, you see, while we were on the Ferris wheel, I spotted someone from an organization the Armed Detective Agency isn't very friendly with. That specific person has previously attempted to cause harm to agency staff and members. They're a very dangerous person and I do not want you hero students to be involved with them."

"A villain?!" Midoriya exclaimed.

"Wait, but I thought other organizations won't harm us unless we provoke them?" Sero demanded.

Tanizaki sighed again. "No, not a villain, necessarily, just a... dangerous person. And you're right, Sero, other organizations shouldn't have a reason to harm you. But this person in particular, in short, they, well, don't care. According to my sister, they're just plain sadistic."

The rest of the walk back was in complete silence, and Tanizaki was beginning to wonder if telling the hero students that much was a bad move. He had to reassure himself that they deserved to know. If he was in their place, he would want to know too. They arrived back at the agency, and Atsushi was now there working behind a computer. When Atsushi asked why he was back so early, Tanizaki explained the wild Q sighting. Atsushi agreed to be his right-hand man when Kunikida would inevitably attempt to lecture him.

Meanwhile, in Kunikida's group, Iida had been forced against his will to wear bell bottom jeans to hide the engines attached to his legs. The students in Dazai's group have become frightened by his dark comments about death and suicide. Yosano's group was quite happy with her, actually. And Ranpo, currently inside Poe's book, was agonizingly watching his group attempt to solve the case painfully slowly. Slowly, compared to Ranpo, that is. So in reality, they were doing quite good.

Oh, and All Might's finally here.

Ty for reading this random idea I thought up in the middle of the night. Hopefully I can get more than one chapter out before my motivation flies out the window.
