Work Text:
The stage was small, set with a few speakers out of view and a sunny-day-like fantasy in the back. The curtains draped along the rim of the wood that The Bear and The Bunny were standing on. No kids were present at that moment, but it didn't hurt to just sing a little bit.
The melodic strumming of Bon's guitar and the smooth tone of Fred's voice went perfectly together. Like peanut butter and jelly—like the sun and the moon. Yet still an awkward pairing given the food chain.
Both had their backs turned to each other, both didn't know what the other was going to do next with the performance, and yet somehow they made it work. They always made it work, no matter what circumstance. Always.
Getting closer and closer to one another, Fred gripped his microphone and Bon continued to play his instrument, but shortly being left in the dark as Fred's alluring song seized to exist in their make believe world of perfect.
" You really need to practice more with me, " the voice echoed alone through impending silence, " You play really nice. " The last part a whisper fading away into the almost non-existent air.
Bon still strummed on and on, the music leading on to a trail of nowhere as Fred's voice no longer occupied it on the journey. All alone and left to beg for harmony again.
" As long as I get to hear your voice again. "
Another hand was once again lended out to the song, the smooth voice yet again taking it into their future together. Just them.
