Over the summer, I decided as a muggleborn orphan, who knows nothing of my family history, I would take an inheritance test from the goblins. I found out that I own places and things. I asked for everything I owned to put into their bank vaults. Then I paid the goblins to go through and audit all of them plus a cleansing and/or fixing if anything needed it. My properties were stripped down to the floor, wall, and ceiling. I have an army of house elves now, so to keep them from being bored I ordered them to restore all my properties to their former glory. I had all the wards around my properties upgraded to the best they could make them. During the audit all the goblin’s made artifacts were given back to the goblin nation, I had no want or reason for things that I didn’t even know existed before this. If I have an artifact made, I swore to have in my will that it is to be given back to the goblin nation upon my death. Out of all my properties, I personally concentrated on Hogwarts, it is the one property I own that would be the most likely noticed to be empty. So, it needed to be the first property to be put back together.
Anything on the Hogwarts grounds, not native to the land, which was not in a greenhouse, or brought in for a class… Or had a binding contract for parts of the land... *cough, centaurs, cough* were moved to their native land. I talked to each remaining being and only those that were harmful to the school were moved.
The spiders all went to a family island, which had once been a booming spider farm, but my dad, from what my manger said, hated spiders and had them all killed... Idiot! Ironically, all the beings and plants not native (or were harmful) found a place on the other properties I owned. Including an almost 1,000-year-old basilisk!
While the school was being restored and the wards updated, I was going through what was left in the Hogwarts vault. (That was the first vault that the goblins did.) I had the house elves sorting through all that was in there. Anything that was a living person’s belongings, I had the house elves go check to see if they wanted them back. Anything that belonged to the dead was researched to see if any family was left. If so, my house elves would go ask if the family wanted the belongings. If there was no family left, or no one wanted the belongings, I would see to those items.
I have the Hogwarts’ house elves, my own magic, and Hogwarts, herself, help me redecorate the inside of Hogwarts with the items left from the Hogwarts Vault. Each subject has a classroom per year they taught, but not all of them did so. Each classroom got exactly what that subject (and year if applicable) needed. This was not limited to indoor classes, the outdoor classes also got exactly what they needed. Each classroom had a copy of all the books I own of their subjects. Something I added was to the Astronomy class, I made a planetarium device so that the class doesn’t have to be at night anymore. I left a book on how to use it on the professor’s desk. The hospital wing had anything and everything to do with healing in it, including a copy of every healing book I own.
We redo the library, now it would be by school subject; with light, grey, and dark being mixed. There would not be a restricted section, all written word on Hogwarts grounds would have an intent spell on them (built into the wards.) If what was written was above your understanding at that time or you would use the information for "evil" then you would not be able to understand the information. I put a copy of every book I owned in the library. All the originals were in their vault. All the loose papers were organized by author and date then bound into a book. There was a fiction section, a journal section, and a news section to go with the school subjects’ sections.
I had two connecting books made, one was for the librarian, theirs had every title of every book within the library, so they could check out the books, and quickly check to see if a book was in or if it was due, was late, etc. The second book connected to the first one and was for students to use as a searching tool. Write the author, title, or keywords and it would give you a list of books and where to find them, the ones that were checkout would have a line through them. We also made study areas, where there were silencing wards. So that the students could study/do homework together.
I was told by the Hogwarts’ house elves the kitchen and laundry room were their domain and not to be touched. However, the house elves happily took a copy of every recipe they could use. The grounds now had a farm on it, ran by the house elves. They will use it to feed everyone. They also harvested all fresh potion plants. The beings on Hogwarts grounds freely gave material to the house elves to use. Anything not used by Hogwarts and is not stored; the house elves sell.
We finished the rooms that the staff use and the ones the students use. Including new rooms for hanging out. Any other rooms not in use Hogwarts seals. We finished just in time; the staff arrived today. The old staff looked at the new staff in confusion, it was explained that the staff could only have one job, other than if they were the head of a club. So, the teachers had more than one job, and had to choose which job they wanted to keep. The house system was abolished, everyone was now to be sorted by age and knowledge base. Each age group would have beginner, intermediate, and advanced. Only the teachers would know which student was in which base group. There were three professors per subject now.
If anyone didn't like the changes, they were more than welcome to leave. Dumbledore tried to butt in, however, the goblins backed me up, I was rightful heir to Hogwarts. Meaning I was the owner of the castle, only Hogwarts herself could ban me. Eventually Dumbledore was forced to retire from Hogwarts… He went protesting that he needed to be there for Harry’s sake in 5 years’ time! Hogwarts herself threw him out. Filch and Hagrid were told by the house elves that their jobs as care and ground keepers were the house elves and to stop it! Filch left and was happy to never see a child again, and Hagrid stayed as the creature professor's assistant. Professor Snape chose to stay, but only as the potions master, meaning he would brew any of the potions needed by the school, however he would not interact with any of the children. He got an apartment on the school grounds that had everything that he needed. He could research and experiment all he wanted if the school's potions were done. The staff got over the shock, chose what they wanted to do, and then explored the changes to the school.
When the students returned, they were confused by the great hall; instead of five long tables there was one long horseshoe table at the back of the great hall, and then a ton of smaller five seat round tables. They were told that if they didn't like the changes, they could transfer to a different school, but to please give it one month's time. They didn't quite like that there was no house system anymore, but they did like the individual in suite rooms everyone got. There were about 35 students per year. All uniforms had the school crest on them. The students really didn't like the pop quiz that they all had to take the next morning, each age having a different one. The first years had an easier time adjusting to the new Hogwarts. I am happy to report that attendance is at an all-time high.
