Chapter Text
The birds were chirping outside, Shuichi was looking out the window at them, bored. He waited so long for this two-week vacation, but now that it’d finally arrived, he had no idea what to do with the free time. He could text his friends some more, but he had done that a few hours ago, he didn’t want to seem annoying. He was starting to get hungry now, so he got up from the chair and walked to his fridge, it had a big variety of aliments, but somehow everything seemed unappetizing. He recalled a dish his mother used to make before he left the house, it was some sort of tuna pie, but with tomato and olives, maybe he could try to look up the recipe?
With that task on mind, he opened his laptop again and started looking for the recipe, however, none of them seemed to be the one he was looking for, that was until he clicked on one particular link, which sent him to a black page with lavender letters, it seemed like some sort of witch-themed recipes page, but inoffensive at the end of the day. Looking at the ingredients, it seemed like he finally found what he was looking for, nothing seemed out of place, so he got all the ingredients ready (which he luckily already had at home) and started baking.
He finally felt like he was enjoying his vacation to the fullest, he always loved cooking, but what he liked the most was making pies and cakes, maybe, if it was good enough, he could make another one and invite Kaede and Kaito over to eat with him. Maybe he could impress Kaede a little…
He squealed in pain when the knife sliced his flesh, it was a very small cut, nothing to worry about, but a single drop of blood had already fell onto the sliced onions. He sighed, reminding himself to not get distracted and returned to his cooking. After a few hours, the pie was done, and it had a delicious smell as well. He allowed himself a proud smile as he took it out the oven, carefully placing it on the table.
While waiting for it to cool down, he continued to watch the birds outside, chirping on top of the branches, it looked nice outside, some few clouds were on the sky and the color was a beautiful bright blue. He looked at his window for a couple more minutes, then carefully touched the pie with his fingers to check the temperature, it was hot, but not burning hot, so he took the knife again and cut himself a slice. After blowing at if for a while, he took a bite, feeling his cheeks ache as his mouth was filled with saliva, it was as tasty as those his mother made, though not exactly the same flavor.
He tried thinking on what was missing while continuing to eat the delicious pie, and as he swallowed the last bite, he found himself in the floor. Not only that, but everything was huge, or, upon realization, he had become inexplicably small. He looked around in fear, not understanding what was happening, he tried running towards the door but his legs got tangled and he fell back at the floor, this time more painfully. It was just then when he finally realized, looking down at where his hands should be, that there were paws, black paws, his heart started racing, he thought he was having some weird dream or nightmare, but the world around him was as real as his slender black cat body was.
