Chapter 1: Caine’s New Adventure

Summary:

Caine decides to make a new adventure. But...

Notes:

*Gasp* is this finally going to be it? Am I finally going to finish a multi-chapter fic?? I sure hope so!

Anyway! Hello, everyone! And welcome to another fic! I decided to finally post something else “The Amazing Digital Circus” related. And I will try to finish it! If I don't, then I'll tell you all and you can do whatever. You can rewrite it and finish it yourself, and such. Just not now though.

Anyway! Enjoy everyone! :)

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Caine knew a lot of things. Sure, he didn't know everything about everything. But he did have basic knowledge on most things. Love and such being one of them. Now... Love was an interesting thing to him. From what he's heard, it's something that many people wish to experience in their life at least once or twice. It's something that people think fondly of. And he has to admit that it is something he likes. But... He wants to be able to feel it genuinely. Sure, he has the moon, but their relationship didn't feel... real. Nothing about what they had felt real. But, it was all he had for the moment, and how was he to refuse what he was given?

Another thing he knew about love was that it could come in many forms. Physical and verbal being the ones he knows the most about. It's just so fascinating to him. So when he was wandering around the grounds one day and saw Jax playfully flirting with Ragatha, of course he got the idea to do something related to that.

Which is what brings him to what he was doing now. He had decided that he was going to make an adventure for himself! And it was going to be going to be called...

Ringmaster Match Maker”!

But instead of the adventure only lasting a few hours or a day, it was going to last a month! And he had to have at least three to four relationships going by the end of it.

...

Which is going to be a little difficult for him since he doesn't quite know where to start. Maybe Ragatha and Jax? They seem to have something going on. Well... Sorta. As far as Caine could tell, they were almost always butting heads with eachother. But maybe they had a chance? What about Pomni and Ragatha? Those two seem to have a good connection! Then there's Zooble and Jax, but– ehhh... Probably not.

The ringmaster brought a hand up to the bottom of his jaw. Thinking. This was going to be interesting! But, he shouldn't sit around thinking about it! He should get Bubble and see what the two of them could come up with!

“Bubble!” He called, snapping his fingers and summoning his cane as he took his hat off. Bubble almost immediately coming out with an audible “pop”!

“Yes, Caine?” It asked in it's usual, enthusiastic tone.

“I need your help. I have made an adventure for myself and need some ideas!”

“What is it?”

“I’m glad you asked! It's-”

“And what do you have to do?”

“... It-”

“And-”

Pop!

Okay, maybe asking Bubble for help wasn't that good of an idea.

Hmm...

Oh! What about the moon? She might have some ideas!

With newfound enthusiasm, Caine snatched his cane out of the air beside him and sped out of the tent and immediately making his way up to where the moon was.

“Hello, Caine. How are you doing?”

The immediate greeting startled him slightly, causing him to flinch. The moon chuckled at that, causing the ringleader to avert his gaze. If he could, he would definitely be blushing right now.

But that wasn't what he was here for! So, composing himself as much as he could, Caine began to speak.

“I need your help. I made an adventure for myself and need ideas.”

“Well, what is the adventure about? I can't give you any ideas if I don't know.”

“I was getting to that. But it's an adventure where I have to try and bring together some of the circus members...” God, why did he feel like such a fool? He's never felt like this before! Maybe it was because he was in the presence of the moon? Actually, that's probably why... Ugh. She always knew how to talk and look at him, just to make him feel like this...

“And I was wondering if you had any ideas on who would be the best together and not together and all that.”

The moon hummed in thought.

“Well, maybe you could try Ragatha and Pomni? They seem like they would be great together.”

“Maybe...”

It took a few moments to realize that she had gone silent, which caused him to lift his gaze up at her, where he found the other observing him. Her eyes raking across his form and causing him to fidget with his fingers nervously. What was she doing?

“Uh... Do you need anything?”

“Oh, no. I was just thinking... Maybe... If you're going to do this. Play the role of Cupid, that maybe you can change your outfit?”

Change his outfit? Caine looked down to look at what he was wearing and found that yes... Maybe he should change what he was wearing.

After a few seconds of pondering, the ringmaster snapped his fingers as he finally got an idea and with another snap, changed his current clothing colors to some more... Appropriate ones. His suit was now many different shades of pink, and hanging from his back now was a quiver and some arrows with had cartoonish pink hearts at each tip. And a bow was now in his hand.

“What about this? How do I look?”

A chuckle.

“Handsome as always~ I would even say that you look even more so.”

Again, if Caine could blush... He would be as red as a tomato.

“Thank you...” ahem, “now, if you'll excuse me, I have some love to spread!”

Another chuckle.

“Of course. Good luck.”

Without another word, Caine grabbed his cane once again and quickly made his way back down to the tent. Standing in front of the entrance with his hands placed on his waist, teeth curved up into a small smile.

“I can do this! Now, time to see what my superstars are up to today!”

With that, he made his way inside, going around to begin his search.

“Okay, is it just me, or is Caine taking much, much longer to get here?” Ragatha questioned with slight concern. It's already been around an hour and a half since they had went on stage, ready to do the theme song, yet there was no sign of the loud, enthusiastic ringmaster. And she had to admit that she was a little worried... Despite the fact that she knew he would probably be okay on his own, the voice of concern in the back of her head didn't go away. Plus, it wasn't like him to be this late.

Jax, who was standing a few feet away, let out a fake yawn, and grinned.

“Oh, come on, Dollface. I'm sure he's fine. Isn't be basically God in this world? Plus, what's wrong with one day without an adventure, eh?”

As much as Ragatha didn't like it... She had to agree with Jax. Caine should be fine. Actually. Maybe she should be happy he's not here today. That means they can have more time to themselves instead of using almost all of it on the adventures he would assign to them.

“I want to do an adventure today!” Gangle exclaimed happily, her ribbon hands flapping about. But, before she could say anything else, Jax came over and pushed her down. Throwing her off balance and causing her to fall face first into the stage floor, breaking her comedy mask with a loud “crack”!

“Oops...”

“Jax!”

“Whaaaat?”

“You can't just-”

“Oh, come on-”

Caine watched form a distance as the group argued. Gaze switching between all of them. Zooble was standing in the corner of the stage with their arms crossed, an indifferent look on their “face”. Gangle was leaning over the now broken comedy mask, soft sniffles leaving her. Pomni was standing in another corner of the stage, watching everything with quite a lost look. Kaufmo was standing silently next to Pomni, twiddling his thumbs. And Kinger was... Being Kinger.

Hm. This was going to be tough... But, it wouldn't be an adventure if it was easy!

Smiling again, Caine pulled an arrow from his quiver. Time to get this adventure started!

Notes:

And that's the end of chapter one! I hope everyone enjoyed! But before I leave, I would like to make a few things clear, because I think most of you are confused about some things. The main one being the thing with Kaufmo.

In this, Kaufmo came back from being abstracted. People can come back from being abstracted. Why did I add that? I don't know. I just really like Kaufmo and wanted him to be here. <3

That being said, goodbye everyone! I'll see you all in the next chapter.

Chapter 2: Dolls, Jesters, And Letters

Summary:

Caine decides to go after the two members that seem to be the closest to eachother out of everyone.

Notes:

Two chapters in nearly one day?? In a multi-chapter fanfic no less?? That's a new record for me! But despite that, I hope everyone enjoys! I'm sorry if nothing makes sense. I wasn't really thinking straight, and I just put down whatever I was thinking. 😂 😭 And I might edit it in the future.

Anyway, again, enjoy everyone!

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

One of the things Caine discovered about the arrows he had was that they did not work. He found this out when he tried to use it on Ragatha and all it did was lightly poke her in her back and nothing else! It was quite disappointing to say the least. So, he decided to move to plan b! Which was writing two notes and placing them at each other's door. Telling them to meet somewhere. Was it going to work? He... Didn't know. If it did, then that would be amazing! If it didn't? Well, then he might have to move on to the next two people.

But, he had high hopes!

So, with the two letters in hand, the ringmaster made his way through the circus tent as quickly, but as quietly as he could. Didn't want anyone catching on to what he was doing!

When he got there, Caine placed the two envelopes at their doors. But... Now there was a bit of an issue. How was he supposed to get them to read the letter separately, and then get to the location before the other does? ... Hm. He'll think about that later! For now, the only thing he needs to worry about is getting these two future love-birds out of their rooms and to the digital carnival.

After several moments of thinking, Caine let out a small “aha”! Before taking off his now light pink colored hat to call Bubble.

“Bubble! I need your help.”

Bubble once again, immediately popped out with it's grin from earlier still plastered on its face.

“Yes, Caine?”

“Bubble, I need you to listen carefully...”

Hearing a knock at her door wasn't a rare thing for Ragatha. Either it was Pomni coming to her for comfort or just to hang out, Jax coming to invite himself in, ( Though she knew he had the key to her room, so she didn't even know why he was being polite enough to knock in the first place. ) Or Kaufmo coming over for comfort.

“Hello?” She gently called, standing up from her bed and slowly making her way over to the door. Opening it just a crack. Just in case.

“Jax, I swear, if this is- huh?”

That's when she looked down and found the letter. It was... A plain white envelope with a button sticker on it. Keeping it from opening. Her immediate thought was that it was Jax, and he was going to play a prank on her. But her second thought was that maybe it was someone else. Well... Only one way to find out.

Carefully. Almost cautiously, Ragatha swiped the letter from off the ground, looking around the hall for a moment to see if anyone was there before closing the door and going back over to sit on her bed to examine what she had just gotten.

The envelope seemed harmless enough. Plus, she didn't know how Jax could've made it into a prank.

Sighing in relief, she opened it up and took out the actual letter. Unfolding it and beginning to read.

“Dear Ragatha, I would like to ask you if you would like to go out with me to hang out at the digital carnival? I haven't been there before and really would love to experience it. Especially with you. Is that okay?

From, Pomni.”

Pomni? Pomni wrote this? The ragdoll could feel her cheeks beginning to heat up a little at the thought of the other asking her if she wants to show her around. It was quite out-of-character for the normally shy and anxious jester. But, Rahatha wasn't going to refuse. She could never.

So, with newfound enthusiasm, she stood and quickly made her way out the door and down the hall. Beginning her journey to the carnival.

Pomni had been trying to take a nap when she got a knock at her door. Now, that could've been one of two people. Kaufmo or Ragatha. Or at least... That's the two people that would mostly come around. So, slowly getting up, the jester made her way to the door and opened it to find the letter which had a jester hat sticker that kept it from opening.

Who...?

“Hello?”

She called cautiously, looking around the hall to see if there was maybe anybody that could've been the one who left the letter. But... She didn't see anything or anyone. Hm.

Sighing softly, Pomni closed the door before opening the envelope and taking out the letter. Opening it, and reading it with slight fear and excitement.

“Dear Pomni, I would like to ask if you would like to go and hang out at the digital carnival with me? I know how you haven't been there before, and I wanted to be the first to show you around there. So, what do you say?

Sincerely, Ragatha.”

Ragatha wrote this? And she wanted to show her around the carnival? Despite how normal it was, it was a little strange how she decided to say this in the form of a letter, but she decided not to question it.

So, placing the letter on her bed, the jester began to make her way out. In the direction of the carnival. Well... First she needs to figure out where the exit to the tent was first.

What they both didn't know though, was that Caine and Bubble had been watching them from afar.

“What now, Caine?” Bubble asked, tilting slightly in a way that resembled a puppy tilting it's head.

“Well, we wait!”

“Ooh. But aren't we going to go watch them now?”

“Of course not! I have too many other relationships to make happen! We'll just let them have some time together, then we'll come back and check on them later.”

“Ooh! Alright!”

And with that, Caine sped off once more to find the next two future love-birds. He couldn't wait!

Notes:

I hope everyone enjoyed! If you have any suggestions, I am happy to hear them. And if anyone has any questions they want to ask me, go ahead! I won't criticize you for it. No matter how embarrassing it might seem.

Anyway, cya! Until next time. ^_________^

Chapter 3: Arts And Crafts And Carnival Rides

Summary:

Caine puts something together for the next two ( hopefully ) future lovers.

Notes:

I woke up yesterday to SO much attention! Thank you all so much! <3 I honestly didn't really expect that.

Anyway! I'm jumping aboard the Jax and Gangle train! Just like you requested, TheOnlooker! :) Though I was kinda already on it before writing this. 😅 And I'm sorry if I misunderstood anything... I'm kinda dumb if you didn't know and can get stuff like that wrong. Another this is that I'm sorry if my Grammer in this one is not good AT ALL. It was midnight when I finished this, and so it might not be the best.

Soo... Yeah! Enjoy!

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Caine watched from a distance as Jax and Gangle interacted with eachother. He knew that the rabbit tormented the other frequently, but the ringleader couldn't help but think that beneath that was someone who loved those around him. But, despite that thought, he still knew that this was going to be a tough one to pull off. How is he going to get those two to do something together? Hmm. Maybe he can...? Yes! He'll do that!

Grasping his cane tightly, Caine made his way over to where they were, letting out a small, “ahem” so he got there attention.

Gangle flinched at the sound, while Jax just looked up at him, a grin now spreading across his face.

“Well, well, look who finally showed up!” Jax exclaimed, crossing his arms.

“Oh... Um... Hello, Caine.”

Caine couldn't supress a smile.

“Good morning, my little superstars! I have an adventure for you two, that I need you both will enjoy!”

Now Jax just looked confused. An adventure? Just for him and Gangle? Hm. Weird.

“Really? What is it?”

“I’m so glad you asked! Today, you two will be doing... Arts and crafts!”

Arts and crafts? Jax couldn't help but roll his eyes. How childish. ... Then again, everything in this digital world was child-like, but even this was too childish for him.

“Arts and crafts?”

“That’s right, Gangle! And I will be transporting you both to the place where you will be doing this now!”

“Wait-”

But before Jax could finish his sentence, Caine grabbed both of their arms and immediately ( and not that gently ) guided them to a small room somewhere in the tent. A couch was pushed up against one of the walls, plushies scattered throughout, along with several framed drawings and such. Each one illustrating something that looked as if it was made by a child. A round table sat in the center with a large container filled with all the things that would be needed for activities like this with a round, fluffy carpet underneath.

“This is where your adventure begins!”

Jax was too lost in thought that he almost missed what Caine had said. What? How is this an adventure? Most of the time the adventures they were given was something filled with at least some action. Like Gather The Gloinks. But this? This was nothing like that!

So, now frowning, he turned to Caine and was about to ask when he noticed something. His outfit. It was just different shades of pink now! Okay, now he was definitely suspicious.

But, he couldn't worry about that right now!

“Why? Why do I have to do this?”

“Well, I thought it would be a fun thing for you to do! With Gangle, of course. Call it a way to bond with your fellow members of the circus!”

“But I-”

“Now, I'll be off!”

“Wait-”

“Have fun you two!”

And with that, the ringmaster vanished. Leaving Jax staring at the place where he once was, and Gangle confused and nervous. What just happened?

Jax let out a frustrated sigh before turning back towards Gangle. Watching as they made there way over to the table and sat down. That was probably the smartest decision. After all, there wasn't a way out of this room as Caine apparently decided to take away whatever door that was there before so they couldn't leave. Ugh. Well, looks like he'll just have to do this until Caine decides to come back.

So, with a sigh, the rabbit made his way over as well and sat down on the almost too small chair. ( He swore he could hear it groan under his weight. )

Then, he turned his attention to Gangle.

“So, what do you want to do?”

The other seemed to flinch slightly at the sudden attention, and also seemed surprised. Jax was asking her what she wanted to do? That's a first. But it wasn't unwelcome.

After thinking for a moment, Gangle slowly took off the lid of the container before taking out a few pieces of purple, pink, yellow, and black colored paper and a pair of scissors. ( Which took a few tries to get out. )

“Uh... I can work with this. What about you?”

After staring for several seconds, Jax slowly tipped the box forward so he could see what was in it before reaching in and pulling out a few pieces of plain white paper and a few different color crayons.

“I can work with this.”

Despite how annoying this situation was, Jax decided that he was going to play nice for once. He wasn't in the mood anyway.

“So... Do we get started, or...?”

“Probably.”

“Oh. Um. Alright. Then... Let's get started then?”

“Sure.”

Caine appeared back near the stage, letting out a sigh and wiping off some imaginary sweat. Alright. Two down, a couple more to go!

Before he could speed off again, Bubble came over.

“Hey, Caine? So, how did it go?”

“Better than I thought, Bubble! At this rate, I'm sure I'll be done in only a few more days! Possibly hours!”

“Oooh. Sounds like a plan! But first, do you think we should check on Pomni and Ragatha?”

“Hm. You're right! I should probably do that.”

And so, with that, and a deep breath, Caine sped out of the tent as fast as he could and made his way over to the carnival to see what the two were up to.

Ragatha and Pomni were strolling through the carnival. With Ragatha answering any and all questions Pomni had about anything. and Pomni looking around with interest and excitement at all the rides, some of the few games that had NPC’s running them, and more. It was all just very interesting and exciting! She could almost completely forget her worries of leaving. She actually almost forgot she was even trapped in this world in the first place.

“And that over there is the ferris wheel,” Ragatha said, pointing towards the obvious ride with her lips still curved into a small smile. She enjoyed hanging out with Pomni like this. Maybe they should go to the lake next time? Yeah... Maybe they could do that.

Pomni almost immediately walked over to the place where there would be a line. But, since they were technically the only ones here, they had the ride all to themselves!

“Can we ride it?”

The doll could almost feel her heart begin to melt as she heard that. Yeah. They should definitely do this more often.

“Of course.”

With that, Ragatha gently guided her onto the ride where the door automatically closed, and the ride automatically began.

“Huh-?”

“Oh, don't worry. That's normal,” she reassured the other, gently patting Pomni on the shoulder.

“Oh. Hah... Thanks.”

“You’re welcome.”

Caine watched silently at the interaction, thinking about how it was going in the right direction. But they seemed to just be needing another little bit of a... Push.

“Hm... Well, I think I should leave them be! I can see where we are later. For now, I should get going and begin making another relationship happen!”

He quickly left, not staying long enough to see Ragatha scoot closer to Pomni and brush their hands together ever so lightly...

To say that Jax wasn't having a good time with this whole, “arts and crafts” adventure was an understatement. He couldn't draw or make ⬛⬛⬛⬛! And what made it worse is that even though he couldn't see it, Gangle seemed to be having a better time at this! And she didn't even have hands! Well... Actual hands. It was just making him so frustrated.

“You alright, Jax?”

He looked up at the other, sighing, before beginning to speak.

“Mhm. Of course. Also, what are you making?”

The other seemed surprised that he would ask something like that, and... Could you really blame her? He had never really asked a question like that genuinely. And to be honest, she thought it would be followed by, “it’s probably not as good as mine.” But... That didn't happen. Instead, he just sat there and waited. This was actually, probably the most quiet she had seen him.

But she wasn't going to be rude. So, with a small sigh, she slowly lifted up her piece. And Jax couldn't help but do a double take.

It was him.

Sure, it wasn't the best... but it was quite decent for someone who had just ribbons for hands.

“Um... I know it's not the best, but I tried. Do you like it?”

...

“Jax? You know, if you don't like it, I can just-”

“No.”

“Huh-?”

It wasn't even a second later when the paper Jax was gently taken from her “hands”, and she only watched in silence as the rabbit gently caressed the edges of it with his thumb. A small smile now on his face. And it only widened when he saw how Gangle was staring at him in disbelief. It was actually kinda cute.

“Hm. Y'know what? I think I'm going to keep this. You don't mind, do you?”

Gangle quickly responded.

“Uh- no, not at all.”

That's when Jax placed the paper him on the table before pushing his chair back and lifting and placing his legs on the table before bringing up his hands and placing them behind his head. He felt better.

“Thanks.”

“Your welcome...”

Notes:

I hope everyone enjoyed! I've been trying to make these chapters longer, but unfortunately, I'm failing. :`)

And yes, I understand that the summary probably doesn't make sense, but I forgot to put it down before writing this. 😭

Anyway, that's all I really need to say, so goodbye everyone! I'll see you all next time!

Edit: OH MY GOD, I THINK I MESSED UP ON THE ARTS AND CRAFTS PART. 😭 I'M SO DUMB. I AM SO SORRY.

Edit: I messed up the ferris wheel part as well. :`3 I'm so sorry, everyone. But I'm not give to go back and fix it because to me that's too much work. I hope you all understand. 😭

Chapter 4: Scattered Shapes And Chess Pieces

Summary:

Caine decides to try and make a bit of a... interesting relationship happen. It goes as well as you'd expect.

Notes:

Hello! I'm back with an update. ^_________^ Sorry for not posting on this for a while! I was a little distracted by other things and didn't have any ideas for this. Especially relationship ideas because I was and am still worried that people would come for me because of some of these. 。:゚(;´∩`;)゚:。 Then I would feel bad. But keep in mind that in the fanfic it's CAINE that's putting these characters together! So I don't ship all of these as much as others! That probably, still doesn't make sense, but I just wanted everyone to know that.

And I'm sorry for the short chapter, grammer mistakes, etc. I was trying to get this done as quickly as possible and didn't re-read it to check. In fact, I may go back in later to edit and add to it in the future though, so don't be too disappointed!

Anyway, I hope you all enjoy! <3

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Caine paced back and forth, casting glaces towards Zooble and Kinger who were talking to eachother a few feet away. How was he going to make this one happen? There weren't many options on things he could get them to do. Maybe he could try to make another adventure? One specifically for them like he's done with Gangle and Jax? Hm. Maybe not. Maybe he should just let them hang out together like Ragatha and Pomni and let it go from there. But the real question was how was he going to do that...

Twirling his cane, Caine finally got an idea.

He could scatter Zooble’s parts across the digital world! That would be a great way for them to bond and eventually get into a great relationship!

...

But how was he going to do that? He couldn't just snap his fingers and do that himself. That would make things much too obvious. Maybe he could spawn in some Gloinks to do it for him? They did like stealing anything and everything. And Zooble’s body was the perfect thing for them to take apart. Yes! Yes! That's what he'll do!

So, snapping his fingers, Caine summoned four to five Gloinks and sent them in the direction of the duo, making sure to keep himself hidden. If they found that he had been watching this happen, his plan would've been a huge fail and he would have to come up with a new one. Which he really didn't want to do as they were quite limited. Plus, if he couldn't get these two together, then that would mean he would be one relationship short! Sure, that probably didn't matter as the adventure didn't require that many, but he wanted to try. If he could do that, then he would be an expert matchmaker!

But all he could do now was wait and see.

Now, Zooble wasn't what you would consider a social person. But it wasn't like they tried to stay away from everyone 24/7. If you don't annoy them and stuff, then they'll be willing enough to stay near you and talk to you. So when Kinger had come up to them and randomly started talking to them about insects and such? They didn't really know what to do. Maybe leave? But then that would cause a whole bunch of other problems.

Eventually they had decided to just stand and listen.

It was mostly a one-sided conversation, with Zooble only really humming and giving the other a nod every few seconds.

It was only a few minutes into the conversation when they noticed a Gloink.

Wait– what?

Turning, they saw that they were correct. It was a Gloink. Then four others came tumbling after.

...

Nope. Their not doing this again.

“⬛⬛⬛⬛ that,” Zooble said, annoyed, only getting to take a few steps before the Gloinks pounced and began to take them apart piece by piece in a cartoonish cloud of smoke before beginning to bounce off to who-knows-where. All while Kinger just watched with a lost gaze.

“Help me, you idiot!” Zooble growled, eyes narrowed in anger. She did not want a repeat of last time.

Kinger seemed to snap out of it, and let out a small, “oh!” Before quickly making his way over and trying to grab one of her arms and failing miserably, with his hands being taken with it.

“Wh- KINGER!”

“...”

“KINGER!”

“AH! Oh. Zooble? What are you doing?”

“HELP ME!”

“Oh- right!”

And with that, the chess piece made his way over and tried again.

Little did they know that Caine was watching them with a wide smile. This is great! ... Well... Mostly. It will most likely take a while for them to begin to actually get along. But he was hopeful!

Ragatha and Pomni were making their way back to the tent, Pomni having a smile etched across her face as she thought about her and Ragatha’s day together. And Ragatha with that same smile, though she was casting loving glances towards the jester the whole time.

“That was fun,” Pomni finally said, switching her gaze from the ground to the doll who was strolling next to her, and Ragatha couldn't help but think she looked so cute with those eyes that changed shape and size depending on how she was feeling. And right now they were as large as can be.

“Yeah. I'm glad it was fun! It was for me too.”

The two spoke a little bit more as they walked, and when they got to the tent, they were quite surprised at what they saw from the entrance.

It was Zooble being taken by a bunch of Gloinks, Kinger trailing close behind, trying to grab each of her parts and failing each time with Kaufmo in the background of it all, watching with a confused look.

Pomni and Ragatha looked at eachother for a moment before finally shrugging and making their way inside.

Just a normal day in the digital circus,’ they thought as they both walked into the circus and away from the chaos happening in front of them.

Notes:

I hope you all enjoyed! And remember, if any of you have any questions, feel free to ask. Any and all questions are welcome! As long as it's about this fic and nothing else.

Anyway, goodbye! Until next time! <3

Edit: I literally wrote this while at school, and put little to NO effort into it, and it's gotten SO MUCH attention in the last hour or so. 😭 I'm pretty surprised, but thank you all! <3 I appreciate all of you and all your love for my content.

Chapter 5: Realizations

Summary:

Everyone has their own realizations and thoughts about things. And Caine... is mostly just being a fanboy through the entirety of it.

Notes:

I have rose from the dead and have finally updated this fanfic once more. It's been a while, hasn't it? A month? Maybe two? But, anyway! I hope everyone enjoys this. I also hope everyone can see the effort I put into this one. :3 But just a warning... There will most likely be cringe ahead. Unfortunately.

Anyway! I hope you all enjoy this one! <3

Chapter Text

Ragatha made her way down the hall with Pomni at her side. It was pretty awkward if she was being honest... But it could've been worse. Luckily, the awkwardness was quickly lost when Pomni began to speak. Her voice soft and a little happier than usual. More than the usual nervousness the ragdoll was used to. Which made her very happy. The other was coming out of her shell more! And Ragatha was proud of her for that.

“Hey, um- I had a really good time today! Maybe we could do it again some time?” Pomni suggested, a small smile gracing her lips. One that made Ragatha's heart absolutely melt. She might has well have been struck by one of cupid's arrows at this point, cause when was she falling head over heels for the women before her?

“Of course! I would love that,” Ragatha responded, sending a smile right back. But little did she know that Pomni was feeling the same way. When did Ragatha's smile make her feel lighter than air? Just- when? Sure, before today she thought that Ragatha was beautiful. Heck, she's guilty of imagining them in different scenarios. But those were mostly platonic thoughts. And they happened less. Like visiting the digital lake together! Or something like that. But now, her thoughts were leaning towards more romantic situations. Like kissing, for example.

“Well... Uh... Thanks! I should probably get going now! Bye!” Pomni said quickly before practically speed walking to her room. Leaving Ragatha standing in confusion. Huh... That was weird. Well, probably best not to worry about it. After all, that was kinda normal behavior for Pomni, so she wouldn't question it.

After a moment, the ragdoll sighed. Well, she should probably make her way back to her room as well. Maybe she can work on sewing something. Or maybe she could make something for Pomni? Hm... She'll just have to cross that bridge when she gets there.

And with that thought, she pushed open her door and stepped into her room and flipping on the light switch with a sigh before closing the door behind her. Okay. What to do now... Hm... You know what? Sewing seems like a good idea right about now. Mostly because that's just something she really enjoyed doing. Plus, it would be a good way to pass the time.

Grabbing everything she needed, Ragatha then made her way over to her bed and took a seat. Beginning to sew. And not realizing that a certain ringmaster had been watching the entire interaction between her and Pomni.

“This is great, Bubble! We're really getting close. I can feel it!” Caine exclaimed, body practically vibrating in excitement. To which Bubble nodded, their usual grin widening even more.

“I can too, Caine! I think you've really outdone yourself this time!” Bubble said with equal enthusiasm.

“Why, thank you, Bubble. But we're not done! We still have all the others, remember? Why don't we go see what Gangle and Jax are up to?” Bubble seemed to get even more excited at the suggestion, and it nodded.

“Yes!”

“Then let's go!” And with that, Caine and Bubble sped off once more. Though not realizing that someone too had been watching them. Narrowing their eyes as they were carried away once again by the herd of Gloinks, with Kinger still lagging behind.

Jax let out a frustrated groan as he once again, accidentally ripped the paper. Or, maybe it wasn't an accident as he would get frustrated then rip the paper on purpose... But he didn't seem to know that for some reason. And Gangle couldn't help but feel concerned. They had been at this for hours now, and one look at the plastic trashcan a few feet away showed it. Ripped pieces of colored paper covered the inside and around the trashcan. And Gangle was sure that if they kept at this, it would fill up the whole room in no time.

“Um... Jax? Do you maybe want me to help-” She tried to offer, but Jax only sent her a glare before grabbing another few pieces of red, white, and black paper, and beginning to cut out the shape of either her tragedy mask, of her comedy mask. He hasn't told her yet which one he was trying to make. Probably her tragedy mask, if she was being honest.

Several minutes past, and even Gangle had to admit that she was beginning to get a little frustrated with Jax. Why was he trying so hard? He really didn't have to do this! Yet everytime she tried to tell him that, he would blow her off. At this point, she just wanted to get up and leave. But she couldn't... Not until Caine came back and telaported them out of this room as there wasn't a door in sight. That's another question. Who makes a room and locks two people in it, and doesn't put a door in? Isn't that kinda... Weird? Well- Caine is weird... But not usually to this extent.

And speak of the devil! Because as soon as she was done thinking about it, Caine and Bubble suddenly appeared. Effectively startling Gangle, and only making Jax look up at him with a frown. Obviously still frustrated. But hopeful that. He would get them out of this room.

“So, how is everyone doing in here? Great, I hope!” Eh... Could've been better, if Gangle was being honest. But she didn't really want to say that out loud in case Jax took it the wrong way.

“But do you think we can leave yet?” Caine seemed to think on that for a while before nodding. A relief for both Gangle and Jax. And both for different reasons.

“Alright. If that's what you want! But one question! Did you enjoy your time together?” The ringmasted asked, tilting his head like a curious puppy.

“Yeah? I think-?”

“Wonderful! Just wonderful! Well, now you're free to go! Just remember that I'll be checking up on you two to see if you guys are really getting along better than before!” He said before snapping his fingers and causing the two before him and Bubble to disappear and reappear back on the main stage before either of them could ask any questions on what that meant. Or what he was talking about.

“Eh, whatever... I think I'm gonna go to my room and uh... Sleep.” Jax almost seemed to mumble before making his way up to his bedroom with a hand resting on his hip. But before he disappeared, Gangle could see what looked to be her paper Jax that she had made earlier. He kept it...

She couldn't supress a smile. Even if her comedy was broken. And it was at that moment that she realized that maybe... Just maybe... They could be true, true friends. Maybe even more.

As soon as Jax disappeared from her sight, Gangle sighed. Alright... What was she going to now? Actually, she should probably try and fix her comedy mask. Or find Caine once more to fix it for her. Which will probably take a while because she didn't know where he was now.

Sighing again, Gangle shook her head gently before beginning to make her way elsewhere. Once again unaware of Caine, who was watching.

“This is going well.” Bubble said. And Caine had to agree! First, Ragatha and Pomni were getting along even more than before! He wouldn't be surprised if they became a little more than friends sooner than expected! Now, Gangle and Jax? Eh... That might take a little bit longer. But, he's sure it will happen eventually! And Kinger and Zooble? ... Well, now that he's really thinking about it, it might not work out so well... But, there's no reason to say it won’t happen! He just needs to have faith that it will work out.

“But...” Bubble started once more, tilting it's head- er... Body to the side.

“What about Kaufmo? Everyone has a partner except him.” Oh. Caine didn't think about that. Oops. Bubble was right. Kaufmo didn’t have anyone. Hm... Well, he can figure that out later! For now, he had some important Cupid business to attend to! A.K.A going around and watching the others.

“Don’t worry, Bubble. I will get our superstar a partner in no time! I just have to figure out who it's going to be! Now, if you'll excuse me, I have some business to attend to!” And with that, Caine disappeared once more. Leaving Bubble alone.

The bubble floated in silence for a while before letting out a giggle and beginning to foat elsewhere.

“Well! Time to go eat!” Bubble said as they began to make their way out the tent. Humming a little tune as they did. What's the worst that could happen?

Notes:

And, that's the end of this chapter! I hope everyone enjoyed. And I PROMISE that I'll have more stuff happening in the next one. I honestly didn't have many ideas for this one, and decided to keep it tame.

Now. Goodbye, everyone! See you all next time! :)

Edit #1.

I'm regretting some of my relationship choices, so please ignore the questionable ones, as those are the ones I'm a little nervous about. 🥲

Edit #2.

ZOOBLE AND KINGER WILL NOT GET TOGETHER IN THIS IF I DO TRY AND FINISH IT!
